Those unforgettable memories still stab my soul with it's sharp edge causing it to bleed .

I was lying on the bed, closing my eyes. It was certain, I was not sleeping. My sleeps were stolen by my fate for the past one week. I was just closing my eyes in search of sleep and a temporary relief from my misery. Suddenly my mobile ringtone echoed in my ears and I opened my eyes with a jerk . I took the smartphone to look at the caller id.

I immediately attended the call, my heart racing and I was flooded with emotions .

"Hello, you have to be strong and calm. I want to inform you that Arnab's condition is deteriorating further and we are planning to put him on a ventilator" The doctor said in a concerned tone.

I felt numb and my blood started freezing . "Will he recover ?" I asked bluntly

"Chances are very rare. Once he does well, we can remove him from there. But his condition is worsening"

"Is not he on ventilator yet ? I asked "Can I see him ?"

"That only, I called you for. Once he starts to recover, he will be transferred to the normal ward. So you need to come here"

"What if there is no improvement ?"

"Then I am sorry" She sighed "There is a high possibility , you are going to see him for the last time"

I went and stood in front of the door. He was lying with his mouth open and eyes closed . Through the glass of the door , watching him struggle to breathe was enough to make me insane. I wished I could have given my breathe to him and my life too but I was such an incapable wife . I never felt this much disabled before . 

"I love you Arnab" I closed my eyes and fresh tears escaped "Don't leave me in the mid of the ocean" I leaned against the door and touched my growing baby bump.

From that day onwards my life changed . What my life was before and what it became after. I wish, I could rewind the time and go back and relive all the beautiful moments that we had lived and cherished together.
