Chapter 112 - Heavy causalities

As the battle between Grimgor and Rhydor reached its climax, the magical beasts continued to unleash their devastating attacks. The special moves, Gorilla Punch and Rhino Drill, collided in a cataclysmic explosion of magical energy. The shockwaves from the clash rippled through the battlefield, reaching far and wide.

Soldiers from both kingdoms, who were positioned at a considerable distance from the magical beasts, found themselves caught in the crossfire. The shockwaves slammed into the troops, knocking them off their feet and scattering them like leaves in the wind. The sheer force of the magical energy wreaked havoc on the unfortunate soldiers who were too close to the epicenter of the battle.

King Xiao and the Queen of the Hell Kingdom, still engaged in their intense duel, were momentarily interrupted as the shockwaves reached them. They struggled to maintain their footing, their attention briefly diverted to the chaos unfolding around them. The fate of their kingdoms became even more uncertain as the collateral damage escalated.

The distant soldiers, caught between the clash of Grimgor and Rhydor, faced a grim fate. The shockwaves not only disrupted their formations but also inflicted serious injuries. Some were thrown against trees or rocks, while others were enveloped in the magical energy, their bodies convulsing as the power surged through them.

Despite the unintended consequences, Grimgor and Rhydor pressed on with their final moves. The gorilla and the rhino, both battered and wounded, locked in a struggle for dominance. The glow in their eyes intensified as they poured the last remnants of their magical energy into the battle.

In a final, climactic collision, Grimgor's Gorilla Punch met Rhydor's Rhino Drill head-on. The resulting explosion was blinding, casting an otherworldly light across the battlefield. The shockwave expanded in all directions, tearing through the remaining soldiers, leaving destruction in its wake.

As the magical energy settled, the once-mighty Grimgor and Rhydor lay motionless on the battlefield, their bodies entwined in a macabre dance of death. The fate of the summoned beasts was sealed, but the cost of their battle extended far beyond their demise.

The surviving soldiers, those who managed to withstand the onslaught, surveyed the battlefield with a mixture of horror and sorrow. The casualties on both sides were extensive, and the once-pristine landscape was now scarred by the destructive clash of magical titans.

King Xiao and the Queen of the Hell Kingdom, both sigh after witnessing the devastating consequences of the magical beasts' battle and exchanged a somber glance. The toll on their armies and the land itself served as a stark reminder of the price of war. The fate of the kingdoms now hung in the delicate balance of what remained after the clash of Grimgor, Rhydor, and the unwitting soldiers caught in their crossfire.

It didn't matter how ruthless the Queen of the Hell Kingdom was - she still cared deeply about the people of her kingdom. She could kill people of the other kingdom without batting an eye, but when she saw her own kingdom's people die, she couldn't suppress her sadness in her heart. Still, she hid her emotions and thought, "All of this is for the better future of our kingdom. This type of sacrifice is needed. Don't need to pay attention to it."

Then she looked at King Xiao and said something unexpected. "I will give you an offer - surrender your kingdom to me and the war will stop right here. I promise I will not kill you or any member of the royal palace. Also, the people of the kingdom will be spared."

King Xiao asked, "What else?"

The queen asked, "Else what?"

King Xiao replied, "You want me to believe you will not kill anyone after I surrender the kingdom to you. If it was that easy, you would have asked me before invading my kingdom."

The queen smiled and said, "You really are intelligent. My second condition is that your cultivation will be crippled, so that if you want to betray me in the future, you will not be able to do so directly. When I cripple you, you will have the option to stay in your kingdom under my command, or you can leave. Does that sound good?"

King Xiao again asked, "What else?"

The queen's smile deepened. "My last condition is to cripple your youngest daughter. Or, she can become my servant. If she performs well, there may be a chance she will become my disciple and could also be the next queen when I die or retire. And to tell you the truth, I really want her to be my disciple because it would be a waste if I crippled someone as talented as her, don't you think?"

King Xiao was enraged when he heard about her conditions, especially the last one. He really could agree to the first two conditions, but he could not tolerate the third. He never wanted his daughter to be limited to his kingdom, and this woman wanted to make his beloved daughter her slave.

As the queen had said, Su Lin might become the next queen, but King Xiao knew that if his daughter fell into her hands, she would become nothing but a puppet. He also knew his daughter's talents would not be contained within his kingdom for long.

That was why he had wanted to spend time with his daughter peacefully. But then this invasion started, and all his plans failed.

His eldest son had also died due to the betrayal of the High Noble clans, although the people who participated in the betrayal were already dead. But King Xiao's hatred for them did not diminish at all. He also did not forget who had given those high noble clans the courage to betray the kingdom they lived in - the Hell Kingdom.

So how could he hand over his kingdom to someone like her? He also knew that the Queen of the Hell Kingdom only cared about the people of her original kingdom, as evidenced by the fact that she didn't care about the people of other territories the queen won from neighboring kingdoms.

The lives of the people in those territories were miserable, and the king couldn't imagine what this queen would do to the people of Xiao Kingdom if she won this war. But one thing he was certain of was that their lives would not be better than the people of those territories.
