Chereads / THE ANGER OF ASURA / Chapter 51 - Flying Artifacts

Chapter 51 - Flying Artifacts

Sir Eric lept in the air and fought with the leader of the syndicate and the vice headmaster fought with a cultivator who had just appeared but was as powerful as the leader of the syndicate.

The rest of the sky realm cultivators clashed with the dozen sky realm cultivators of the Crimson Cobra syndicate. Their numbers were almost equal so each one was facing one opponent.

The elite team started to be at a disadvantageous stage because the opposite team was using poison and they also had the home ground advantage.

Asura and the others were seeing this from the ground. They couldn't join this fight because they couldn't fly in the air. Also, they didn't have the air artifacts that could help them to fly, so all they could do was observe the fight and get some insights that would help them when they reached the sky realm.

Sir Eric and the vice headmaster had the upper hand with their opponents, showing they had the experience. But for the other members of the elite team, the situation was going to get worse. Finally, someone from the elite team died due to continuous attacks and poison from the opponent.

After seeing this, one of the elite members became very angry. He burned his blood essence, which increased his strength and allowed him to kill his opponent. After that, he went to that syndicate member who had just killed the member of the elite team and attacked him ferociously. But the opponent was not easy to deal with - he also burned his essence and exerted his full power. As a result, both released their spiritual attacks with all their energy, which created shockwaves that were hard to deal with. In the end, both of them died from each other's spiritual attacks.

This scene made the other members of the elite team sad and angry at the same time because they had lost two comrades to the poisonous tactics of the Crimson Cobra Syndicate. Their desire for vengeance grew, but they knew mere anger would not allow them to defeat such powerful opponents.

Down below, Asura and the others watched with grim determination. "We must find a way to help turn the tide," said Asura. Su Lin nodded in agreement. "My powers have grown, but I'm still no match for those in the sky realm. If only there was a way to even the playing field."

Kallu grinned slyly. "As it happens, I believe I know of an artifact nearby that could assist us. Follow me." He led them through the dense forest surrounding the complex, darting nimbly between the trees. Soon they arrived at a hidden grotto. Within lay an ancient stone tablet covered in runes.

Asura and Su Lin were surprised at how Kallu knew about this place, but they didn't ask. They knew that if Kallu wanted to tell them, he would eventually tell them.

Kallu brushed away the dust to reveal an illustration of winged warriors soaring through battle. "This artifact can imbue the wearer with the power of flight for a short time. It requires a blood sacrifice to activate. I say we each make an offering and join the battle in the sky!"

Asura and Su Lin eyed each other cautiously. Such powerful magic would exact a cost. But seeing no other option, they agreed to Kallu's plan. Each made a small cut and let droplets of blood fall upon the runes.

The tablet glowed brightly, and then three pairs of ornate Golden wings erupted from its surface. "Take them quickly before the magic fades!" cried Kallu. The three disciples strapped on the artifacts just as the glow disappeared. To their shock and delight, they found themselves airborne.

"To battle!" shouted Asura, and they took swiftly to the skies.

When they returned to the battlefield, they saw there were more elite team members who had died, which only served to anger them further. However, there was also some good news: three members of the Crimson Cobra Syndicate had also died. But the situation remained deadlocked. They could see the elite team was at a disadvantage and if they did not provide help to change the situation, they would all die.

Su Lin hurriedly said, "Listen to me, our normal attacks will not have any effect on the sky realm cultivators, so we must use our Battle skill or Spiritual attack. And we have to attack them sneakily, otherwise, these attacks will not impact them much."

Asura and Kallu nodded in agreement with Su Lin's thinking. She added, "Also, Asura, your Battle Skill, and Spiritual Attack have the most destructive power, so you will act alone, while Kallu and I will attack together. In this way, we can deal with these people more effectively."

Asura and Kallu nodded again, happy that Su Lin had come up with them, as they lacked her strategic mind. They followed Su Lin's suggestion, sneaking behind the syndicate members to launch sneak attacks.

The first sneak attack was from Asura. He saw an elite team member who was no longer able to hold on, so he directly used his spiritual attack "Total Annihilation." The syndicate member was fully focused on killing the elite member and was caught off guard, being turned to nothing by Asura's destructive attack.

This sudden change alerted everyone, but they couldn't do anything because everyone remained locked in combat. So all they could do was raise their defenses against potential sneak attacks. On the other side, Su Lin and Kallu also managed to kill a syndicate member.

The other syndicate members were now fully alerted and defended against these sneak attacks, but the damage was done - the balance had been broken. It was now only a matter of time before the elite team eliminated all the syndicate members. Su Lin and Kallu returned to a corner because the opponents were alert and they could no longer launch sneak attacks.

But Asura still tried to find a chance to sneak attack. At that time, a loud sound was heard from the sky. It turned out Sir Eric and the vice headmaster were going all out to finish off their opponents quickly. On the other hand, the other syndicate leader also wanted to end the match quickly so that he could help his subordinates, whose numbers were decreasing one by one.
