A few months later we see Xerxes walking towards an adventurer's guild. He soon enters the guild and saw a multiple lines in front of the guild employees. He stood in line for the area where he needs to register for becoming an adventurer. It took about an hour to finish everything up, but he officially became a rank F Adventurer.
He went to the guild board where they post all kinds of quests. He didn't like what he says and decided to "ask" if there is a faster way to rank up. They explained by saying that there's no way faster to rank up unless you do bounty hunting missions since hunting people can be tricker and even more dangerous due to traps.
He "asked" what they needed for proof, and they said that all kills or captures are recorded on the card. The card has a feature to show whether or not you accomplished the task because it will ding when you finished the mission giving you experience. Since the card is magical in nature, it sends the data it acquires back to us informing of your mission accomplishments which we record down on you profile.
He nodded to that information and decided to pick up a few bandit hunting quests. "Oh yea" the receptionist said. "There is a dungeon as well that has respawn able monsters that get stronger the further down you go. Each dungeon is different, has different ranks depending on how hard it is and a recommended level system which can be shown on your card. Sorry for not mentioning it earlier, I'm still new here and just started last week".
He nodded his head in acknowledgement and wait to see if she has anything more to say. "Levels are based on experience that you get. So, if you kill this many bandits or this many monsters you'll level up. Every 10 levels can qualify you to rank up. The highest level one can achieve is 100. The ranking system goes like this. F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, and X. X being level 100 of course. There is also a rebirth area where once you get to level 100 you can reset your rank and earn a star. Stars represent how many times you Reset. Be aware though that after you reset you can keep all your skills and magic, but it becomes harder to level up and can be more dangerous. Only summoned heroes and legendary figures that appear once in a while can actually reset their ranks. It's not impossible for a commoner or anyone to reset. It's just extremely hard and quite time consuming".
Xerxes actually grinned at this since he is a bit of a battle junkie but hides it well. "There is other information as well that we can explain later like upgrading weapons and equipment and things of that nature. If you want to learn more go to a blacksmith and they will explain the process" The receptionists said.
Xerxes looked at his card after leaving the guild and was inspecting the information on it. Once he finished with that. He remembered when he turned down the invitation to the Accursed Organization but did offer his support in the future. Like a secret benefactor in the shadows. He needs to get even stronger despite the fact he is already monstrous amongst people, but monsters will be much stronger than him. Monsters are a lot stronger overall compared to humans, but humans have intelligence and can make plans which make them trickier to deal with.
Monsters are straightforward for the most part some might have some level of intelligence but still you just have to be careful plan correctly if you into that sort of thing and act accordingly to the situation.
Xerxes has an instinctual level of awareness due to his monster half. He is half human and half wolf. He has pointy fluffy ears and tail with both fangs and claws. his sense of smell is much greater than even a hunting wolf. His speed is his main attribute with strength being his second. His instincts are far sharper than anything and he learned early on to rely on it. Thats how he managed to live for so long in all kinds of death battles.
The only reason the receptionist didn't freak out is because there are demi humans around commonly found all over the place and the fact Xerxes managed to learn how to hide his cursed mark and eyes that give away him being an Accursed. That being said, he decided to head out to fight some bandits first since he wants to satisfy his bloodlust. He stepped outside the city and vanished into the forest like he was never there.
