Chapter 33 - Bountiful Harvest

The Spirit Sect had around 50 Outer Court Disciples come out of the trail alive which could be considered quite a lot.

However, when the disciples lined up one by one to show what they got, the result can be said to be quite disappointing.

Every one of them only had a few rare herbs and totaled up to barely being able to count as a success. Elder Hai had a rather dark expression on his face as he looked at his sect disciples while the other sects snickered.

Finally, Bai Hu stepped up, "Elder"

Elder Hai looked at the handsome young man in front of him and sighed, "Go ahead"

Bai Hu nodded and took 2 spatial pouches that were tied to his waist and turned them over.

A young man from the Crimson Valley made a comment just loud enough for everyone to hear, "Heh, there probably isn't anything worthwhile in there anyways-"

Thump! Thump! Thump!

A seemingly never ending flow of rare and precious materials flowed out of the pouches. There were main ingredients for high in demand pills, rare supplementary herbs that were hard to find, and ores and minerals that could be used in the refinement of treasures.

In quantity alone, it has far surpassed what the Moonlight Sect brought out. As for value?

Countless times greater.

Only once did the materials stop flowing out did everyone shut their mouths that had come open unknowingly.

Bai Hu bowed at Elder Hai.

"These are my gains that I've obtained during the duration of the trial, and I've already taken out 10% of the materials"

Elder Hai was speechless for a moment, and when he recovered, he broke out into boisterous laughter.

"Hahaha! Good, good, good. Disciple Bai was it? I'll make sure to get your achievements to the higher ups soon!"

Under the envious gazes of others, Bai Hu smiled slightly and merely said that it was his duty. Elder Hai nodded in approval and turned to the other representatives. He erected a soundproof barrier and began talking about an unknown subject.

Seeing his good mood and how the other elders took out various treasures and jade boxes, Bai Hu figured that the elders had made bets before the trial began.

He inwardly laughed at how the elder didn't even verify his words.

Yes, it was true that Bai Hu had already split 10% of his loot... and handed that over to the elder.

The rule was, that a disciple can take 10% of their loot and the rest must be handed over to the sect. The sect will then compensate with contribution points in return.

Elder Hai was too prideful and trusting to check if Bai Hu had really told the truth. He must have thought that even if he took more than 10%, it wouldn't amount to much.

Meanwhile, Bai Hu still had dozens of spatial pouches hidden in various places such as his sleeve and the inside of his belt.

To what seemed morally objectionable, Bai Hu called it off as he had not lied in his previous sentence.

He took a casual look at his fellow disciples and gauged their faces, noting their features and what reactions they had. Although the chances were slim, there might still be some assassins whom Mo Yuan Kai had hired.

The remaining had either a strong aura or were incredibly lucky to survive till now. Bai Hu remembered the many faces that will soon be forgotten and sighed.

Such was the existence of a cultivator. To live on or to die a horrible death, forever forgotten after a short amount of time.

His eyes steeled. He would never allow himself to go like that.

"Ahem!"

The childlike voice of Elder Hai interrupted his thoughts. He turned to look at the smug old man who looked like a child.

"The Bloody Ascension Trial has now ended! The placements are as follows"

"Spirit Sect"

"Moonlight Sect"

"Sword Tower"

"Azure Ocean Sect"

"Gold Slaying Sect"

"Crimson Valley Sect"

"Forest Paradise Sect"

He turned to the representatives of the other sects, "I hope I don't have to see you any of you soon"

With a shrill whistle, he called out his beast mount and with a wave of his hand, brought all of his disciples onto its back.

Whoosh!

With a flap of its mighty wings, the Sky Striding Drake soared into the sky. Dust and debris billowed out and gusts of wind blew towards where the other sects were standing.

A random elder casually waved his hands and the winds blew away while the representatives frowned in displeasure.

Shortly after, everyone left for their own sects, leaving the trial grounds as desolate as it was when they had come.

"Ahahaha!"

Zhong Xian laughed so much that Bai Hu was almost worried about his health.

They were at his Master's personal peak, Winefall Peak, and on the table separating them were several spatial pouches containing 90% of the materials Bai Hu had gotten in the sealed space.

"I can't believe you did that! Like stealing candy from a child, Hahaha!"

The old man laughed once again at his own joke while Bai Hu merely sat there with a cup of tea in his hands.

Finally, he couldn't stand Zhong Xian's laughter anymore and slammed his cup down.

Bang!

"I'm sure I've obtained more than enough portions of the materials you requested"

"Aiya! Can't you have some fun?

He casually grabbed the spatial pouches, sent his Divine Sense through each of them, and then transferred what he needed into his own spatial pouch.

"Alright"

He tossed the spatial pouches to Bai Hu, who unceremoniously stowed them away.

"I'm sure the higher ups will soon calculate your contributions for this trial. Applying for a better spatial pouch shouldn't be much of a big deal"

Bai Hu nodded and bid his master farewell. Now he needed to go find Shui Bing to give her the things she requested before.

He walked to the edge of the peak and lightly tossed out his flying sword. The sword floated one foot off the ground and Bai Hu simply stepped onto it and zipped away.

While flying, he took out a jade slip and pressed it against his head.

A beautiful mountain peak with cherry blossom trees and waterfalls appeared in his head. This was the peak where Shui Bing supposedly resides on with several friends, Flowery Crest Peak.

He flew north and past several peaks in quick succession, each with their own distinct features.

Finally, after almost an hour of flying, Bai Hu found Flowery Crest Peak and stopped just outside the restrictions.

He cupped his hands and called out in a loud voice, "Senior Bing, I've gotten the things you've requested"

Just a few moments later, an unfamiliar young woman flew up and greeted him, "Hello, you must be Fellow Disciple Bai Hu, right?"

She wore a pink dress with petite features, her skin was fair, and her face was cute. Her eyes were bright and betrayed her youthful innocence.

"Yes, I've come to deliver Senior Shui Bing the materials she had requested from me before"

She took out a jade slip and pressed it against her forehead, most likely verifying that the handsome young man before her was indeed the person her senior was looking for.

After taking a few more glances at his face, the young woman opened the restrictions and told Bai Hu to follow her with a slight blush on her face.

They traveled in silence for a while, until they reached a beautifully decorated house with floral patterns on its walls.

"By the way, my name is Hong Hua," the cute girl in pink said with a slight pout. She then walked away half gracefully, half angrily, making for quite the comical scene.

Bai Hu chuckled lightly when he saw this, before walking up to the house.

Creak!

He opened the old doors and was instantly met with the scent of fragrant flowers and an elegant yet simple bedroom.

Shui Bing sat at a circular table with various fruits and sweets laid out and Bai Hu couldn't help but be momentarily stunned when he saw the lady in blue.

After all this time, her cultivation didn't seem to have improved in the slightest, but Bai Hu felt an indescribable pressure akin to swords from the ever more charming woman.

"Please come in, else others might think that I'm lacking in etiquette"

Bai Hu snapped out of his revere and hurriedly walked in and sat down.

"I see that you've met Hong Hua"

He merely nodded and took out several spatial pouches and slid them across the table, "These are the materials you've requested"

"Straight to the point I see"

She picked out one of the spatial pouches and an almost translucent thread extended from her forehead. Her pupils constricted and she hurriedly looked into every single spatial pouch on the table.

Bai Hu smiled seeing how Shui Bing was unable to contain her shock and disbelief.

She took a deep breath and looked at Bai Hu, "Tell me... did you rob an entire clan?"

Bai Hu shrunk back and looked as if he was offended. Shui Bing was about to apologize when he told the truth.

"Nonsense! Why would I partake in such acts? I merely tricked Elder Hai into thinking that I had already taken 10%, when the materials I handed over to the sect was merely 10% of my gains"

"You what?!"
