Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

At once the atmosphere became quiet because of Naomi's words. They seemed to be silent, not budging. All eyes were just staring at Naomi.

"Even though my salary is much different from yours, I enjoy it and I don't need your compassion, only I'm an employee here. Without your compassion, my life is fine. Without having to be busy comparing other people's lives. I don't have to drain my mouth to drop other people's mentality. It's so childish." said Naomi with all her strength and a face full of charisma that no one dared to cut the sentence.

Even from them, it began to distract-avoiding their gaze. A sentence short enough to ignore all the words of those who tried to drop it.

Naomi grinned. "This event is not suitable for me. I thought it was a reunion to remember school memories, but it turned out that i was wrong. The reunion event was just to show who was the most successful. it's funny, right?"

Naomi as she moved from her seat.

"Emm ... well, because it's still my shift working hours. I have got back to work. If you need anything, just say it. I hope you enjoy your time. Bye!"

Naomi who then walked away from those who seemed to show their hatred. They seemed to grumble at each other, cynically at Naomi who kept walking her despite her trembling hand from draining too much energy.

Her tears began to seep in the corners of both eyes, even Naomi could not see where she was walking because of the tears that covered fallen here, but common sense doesn't allow her body to fall.

Some of her coworkers who also saw what had happened to Naomi, looked at her with empathy but there was nothing they could do to help Naomi because they were guests who had paid for this cafe.

It was only possible to walk with a little sight, until suddenly the sight in front of Naomi was blocked, making her immediately stop her step. Soon the tears that had been resistant to flowing down both cheeks, Naomi quickly wiped away because she was Mr. Brian standing in front of her.

"Mr. Brian ..."

"Naomi, It's okay ..."

He said with a warm smile like a father. Patting Naomi on the shoulder several times, a look full of warmth as if to say, "You've done the right thing. It's okay ...," His presence brought Naomi back to tears.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Brian. Can I rest for a while?" Naomi asked in a trembling voice holding back her tears.

"It's okay. You be okay, Naomi ...,"

Naomi nodded her head, she was so lucky at this time that she was still met by someone as good as Brian. Even though it's really embarrassing, it'll be even more embarrassing if she falls here. Naomi slowly directed her step towards the kitchen towards the back dook of the cafe.

Gisel and her friend were still busy grumbling, not accepting to see Naomi who denied her words. Unlike Naomi she once knew, her self-esteem seemed to be underestimated by a woman like Naomi who was not even comparable to her.

Until suddenly both eyes of Gisel looked at her lover who seemed to walk past her, confused by her lover's attitude, Gisel immediately reached for the hand of a handsome man who was seen looking at her with a cold look on his face.

"Arthur, where are you going?"

The handsome man's name is Arthur, Gisel's lover. It really made Arthur run out of words when he saw Gisel's attitude that immediately changed 180 degrees unlike a while ago that was more similar to the antagonist in a drama.

It feels really awful when his hands are touched by a woman who doesn't even have ethics and common sense like Gisel. He just thinks that this world is just spinning on him by trying to take down someone who doesn't even have a fault.

Arthur immediately releases Gisel's hand and sighs in wonder. "We're breaking up!"

The words startled Gisel.

"What? Break up? Are you crazy? You said what?"

Gisel said in a high tone of voice that made all eyes be on him and the atmosphere was quiet between Arthur and Gisel.

"Yes, it broke up."

Arthur again emphasized his words to make Gisel believe his current decision.

"Why? Why did you break up? Are you drunk, baby?" What's wrong? You're angry because I forced you to come here? Why?" asked Gisel like a child who was whining.

"I'm just bored. I think ... it's my good name that's hard to keep but has to fall just because of a woman who doesn't know manners. If you're human, that woman."

Gisel who can't help her emotions.

"You will be disappointed, because you have treated me. Cooperation? I won't let my dad approve of your cooperation!"

Gisel tries to threaten Arthur who can only smile in wonder if he is threatened with a job.

Arthur walks away leaving Gisel, who immediately slams the plate and breaks it on the floor, causing people around him to feel uncomfortable with Gisel's actions. The reunion that was originally fine went awry.

About five minutes ago, Naomi was sitting in the backseat of the cafe under a very big old tree. There's only one streetlight in there. After having an unpleasant incident, Naomi actually cries. Her body no longer trembled, but her breath seemed breathless as Naomi held back her crying voice so that it could not be heard inside the cafe.

Naomi realized that someone was trying to walk closer to her. The man's figure seemed so relaxed sitting next to Naomi only about a meter away. He sat down without sounding like he was waiting for Naomi.

Arthur who's been waiting for about 10 minutes without a sound just looking at what's in front of him. It's called ethics not to wait for someone to cry. Maybe Arthur doesn't know what she's feeling right now, but Arthur can understand the position of the woman sitting next to him.

That's right. From the very beginning, Arthur was at the corner of the cafe. But he could only stand still like an audience, because it was not a good time for him to intervene in their problems. Moreover, Arthur is amazed that he managed to make Gisel speechless like the boomerang thrown back at him.
