Chapter 15 - The Oasis Part 6

"Really you will train us?", asks Skai.

"Yes for a couple of days, weeks, years however long you want to stay.", says Agnes.

"Will you be able to teach me how to fly, grow wings, and other stuff.", asks George.

"Yes that is your first lesson.", says Agnes.

"What about me?", ask Skai.

"Well are you a dragonborn?", asks Agnes.

"Yes I am.", says Skai.

"Well you are not fully healed yet, so let's wait a little bit longer for you.", says Agnes.

"We have to leave in about seventeen days though.", says Skai.

"Ok then you can watch for two weeks and then have three days of training.", says Agnes.

"Will that be enough time?", asks Skai.

"For you probably, yes most likely only three days.", says Agnes, "Me and the Osmund kid will let you be.".

George and Agnes walk away, as soon as they walk far enough away that Skai can not hear them George begins to speak, "Oh yeah. I forgot to ask again, but do you know where Alyssa is?"

"I do.", says Agnes

"Is she safe? I have been worried.", says George.

"She is safe, but is not here right now.", says Agnes.

"What do you mean?", asks George.

"She has left with a man named Death.", says Agnes

"Why? Is she ok? Should we go get her?", asks George.

"She had to go with Death because your grandfater covered her in gold.", says Agnes, "And to save her Death has to find you and bring you to your grandfather.", says Agnes.

"Then I am going to go and find them.", says George quickly.

"No, I won't let you. You need to train before you can even get to Death.", says Agnes.

"Fine but in exactly seventeen days we are leaving.", says George.

Agnes and George begin to walk through this hallway which ends with staircases at the end. They both enter the staircases and when they reach the top they see the top looks out above all the small city. The small city was mostly made out of small one story stone buildings. The buildings at the far side of the city were all houses and made out of strong wood. The view was always dark or dim because little to no light reachd the bottom of the oasis.

"Isn't this view just beautiful?", asks Agnes as they walk towards the edge of the roof.

"Yes it is impressive you built all of this.", says George.

"Well I only made the buildings out of stone and the others are people who moved here.", Agnes says as she quickly pushes George off the building, "Good Luck"

"What?!", yells George.

"Your first lesson, learn who to fly!", Agnes's tries to yell with her frail voice.

George falling from the sixth floor of the capital. He looks down and the floor and the buildings around him, he feels as if he is falling in slow motion. The cool air pushing against his body. His mind races but then it slows down to his first memories.

Lloyd's bar was empty; only Gregory Osmund, George's father, was sitting in the bar. He sat at a stool at the bar table. Gregory had tan colored eyes, black hair and dark skin. He was drinking ale at the table.

" 'Tis the end of us spying on this city.", says Gregory in a deep voice.

"Yeah I know six long years of this crap and it is finally over.", says Lloyd while wiping down the bar table.

"Well the raid still has to happen but that will be easy.", says Gregory.

"You are a spy?", says a young George. George is a small child, has black hair, brown eyes, and darker skin.

"Ah George, I didn't see you there. Yes, both me and Lloyd are spies.", says Gregory as he gets up out of his seat and walks over to George.

"That is so awesome!", says George. Gregory kneels down to be at eye level with George.

"Yes, yes we work for your grandfather.", says Gregory, "And George speaking of your grandfather if anyone ever wants to hurt you just grow wings and fly."

"Ok", says George in a soft voice with a strange face.

"Also if you ever hear a story of the Clayman, know that is your father, and that town or kingdom is being raided by your dad, me, and your grandfather.", says Lloyd from the bar.

"But why would anyone want to hurt me?", asks George.

"Because of your name.", says Gregory as he begins to stand up, "George Osmund. Now go see your mom. This is the last day you will see her."

George is close to the stone ground. He takes a deep breath trying to calm down. His heart pounding in his chest. He takes another slow breath and his heart rate slows down. He imagines growing wings out of his back, he does brown scaled wings. He pushes them down which springs him up, he does it again and again. He begins to fly but veers back and hits the stone capital.

"Oh shit.", George says. He flies awkwardly to the roof. He hits the roof and falls.

"We need to leave. Thank you for trying to train us. We will be back after the siege.", says George quickly.

"That is fine.", says Agnes.

George's wings go back into his back. He runs back down the stairs and through the long hallway, into the room Skai sits in.

"Skai. Do you feel good enough to move?" George asks quickly.

"I think so, why?", replies Skai as he moves around in the bed.

"And do you remember in your city if there were stories about the Clayman coming to the village?"

"Actually yes I think so but why?", asks Skai curiously.

"Because the siege of Sand City is going to begin sooner then they thought.", quickly spouts George.

"We have to go.", says Skai as he almost completely jumps out of the bed onto his feet, "What about Alyssa?"

"She is safe, we will go get her after the siege is over.", says George.

"Only if my kingdom loses but if we do I'll most likely be dead too.", says Skai.

They both run out of the room and into the long hallway. The run through the crowd of people in the capital, and they run out of the capital, standing on top is Agnes.

"Good luck! Come visit me after you are done!", yells Agnes.

They both look back and George waves. They run through the street that stretches down the whole city.

"Did she teach you anything?", asks Skai.

"Actually yes I know how to how to grow wings and fly.", says George.

"That is pretty cool, but now you're stronger than me.", says Skai.

"I'll stay after the siege and teach you how.", says George, smiling. Skai smiles back, but then they reach the end of the street, and they see Captain Duggan walking across the street. Duggan looks at George and smirks, "George, what an unlucky day for you. You are mine.".
