Skai, a young, white haired, blue eyed child slowly walks through the snow. He was carrying a small piece of bread. He walks through a stone made out of stone. All of the houses are covered with puffed snow. The snow on the streets is packed in and the townspeople are walking around.
"Hey! Yeah you! Little kid!"says a man that stands right in front of Skai. Skai looks up and walks around the person. "You don't deserve to be alive! Go back to hell!"yells the same man as he kicks Skai. Skai pushes himself up and runs away further down the street near his home. His house is at the very end of the street and past his house there are no civilizations, just the lower slope of the mountain. Skai opens the wooden door to his home and sees his father and a strange man sitting at their small dining table. The strange man is wearing silver armor, has long black hair, and brown eyes. Skai walks past the table and gos into the bedroom which is empty. His father, mother, sister, and brother all sleep on the ground. Skai lays down and listens to his father and the other man's muffled voices.
"I have come before they do it themselves but the Knights of the Castle of the Mount will come to kick you and your family out.", says the strange man.
"Ekon, why?"
"I wish it wasn't like this but I think you know why."
"Because we are different."
"Yes the townspeople think that Dragonborn will kill off all of the humans."
"But we have nowhere else to go. Please can you do something?"
"All I can do is take Rin and Ekon, and try to keep them safe."
Skai got up and went out to the room, he said softly, "Can you and mom come with us?". Ekon stands up and walks over to Skai. He kneels down and takes out his sword. He lays the sword across right and left arms, "I swear that I will protect you and Rin. I swear that not only will I protect you but be your friend until my last hour."
Skai's father begins weeping, "We will wait until your sister is here and then you will leave."
They waited hours for Skai's sister and mom to come back but they never did. Skai's father takes Skai's hand and marches out of their house. He looks back quickly, "Stay here.", then he continues through the town. It is night but the dark clouds cover the night sky. He continues all the way until the center of the town. Skai begins to cry and drop to the floor as he sees both his sister and mom's head skewered on sticks. Skai's father looks at him as his eyes glow a bright blue, "Go back to the house now! Tell Ekon it is time and don't look back.". Skai begins to walk through the cold stone street. He looks back, his dad had grown wings and started burning down the town. Skai turned around and started running back to his house. He ran through the door crying and screaming, "Dad said it was time to go!". Ekon stood up from his chair and began kneeling, "I'll carry you on my back.". Skai climbs up and then Ekon leaves the town.
Skai and Ekon sit around a campfire. Skai sits on a small log with his head in his lap. Ekon sits in the cold wet snow and pokes the logs in the fire with a stick. Ekon looked over at Skai, who is across from the flame, "Why did you not want to leave if they treated you so badly?". Skai looks up as his eyes are still covered in tears, "Because they are not as bad as my owners.". Ekon stands up and walks over to Skai, "Your owner? You were a slave?". Skai looks up, wipes his eyes, and then takes off his shirt. He slowly turns around and reveals a large branding on his back. The mark was swollen and red, it was shaped like a dragon but instead of an eye it had a gold coin.
"You worked for Goldton Bank. Was Goldton Osmund really that cruel?"
"We didn't actually work for him but we tirelessly made coins and weapons for no pay."
"How did you guys get freed?"
"Because of a man named Sir James Godfrey, God of Flame. He came and liberated us and said he had a personal quarrel with Goldton Osmund."
"Wow you've been through a lot, kid but you are safe now.", says Ekon as he pats Skai's head and tries to comfort him.
A couple months later, early in the morning they were walking through the cold forest.
"It is spring Skai do you know what that means?"
"No, what?"
"A new beginning for you. What are you going to achieve?"
"I don't know yet, I haven't decided. My life has had no purpose but to serve someone else's dream. I'll take this spring to find my purpose."
"That sounds like a productive spring. Find your purpose and when you achieve your goal come back to wherever I am and tell me."
"I promise Ekon."
They begin to walk into a dark forest, Ekon pulls out his sword from his sheath. He looks down at Skai, "Stay behind me and when I say run you run. If you keep running straight, you will enter a desert, keep running straight and you will eventually find a city called Sand City. I will meet you there, tell the King that Ekon sent you.". Skai stepped behind Ekon and replied, "Ok Ekon.". Ekon looks around and then back down at Skai, "I will never let something happen to you, trust me.". Skai nods his head, and then they hear a ginormous footstep and the sound of trees snapping. Then a tree in the distance falls down and stepping on it is a giant, whose head rises above the trees. Ekon yells, "Run! Run now Skai!". Skai begins to run through the forest as he hears the giant fall to the ground. Skai looks back and sees the giant kneeling on the groun with one foot sliced off. Skai runs through the woods until he reaches the end, which is the start of the Sannder desert, and in the distance Skai can see a small village.
