Chapter 1 - Starting a new life in a new world

Alright, let's cut the crap and get to the good stuff without the nonsensical and long-winded story on reincarnation. Kyoma, a hardworking Japanese chef, was minding his own business when he got wiped out by none other than the notorious Truck-kun. Cue the violins.

Kyoma finds himself reincarnated into a brand new world, complete with picturesque grasslands and adorable little bunnies. Cute, right? Well, that peace was quickly shattered when our hero found himself being chased by a pack of hungry rabbits.

"AAAAARRRGGHHH WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" he screamed, as he ran for his dear life. You see, Kyoma was dressed in some seriously tattered clothes and looked like he hadn't seen a shower in weeks. Not a good look, my friend.

If you took a closer look at Kyoma's tattered clothes, you'd notice various claw and bite marks all over his body. And if you were to analyze those injuries a bit deeper, you'd find that they were made by those cute and cuddly rabbits that were hot on his tail.

I mean, seriously? An 18-year-old dude getting attacked by a pack of weak, adorable rabbits? It's like something out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon, right? But in this world, rabbits aren't the docile and harmless creatures they are on Earth. Oh no. These bunnies are reinforced by some serious mana, and when threatened, they can take down a fully grown man through sheer battle of attrition, cuts, and bites.

So, there Kyoma was, running for his life from a bunch of rampaging rabbits. It was like a scene straight out of a horror movie. And to make matters worse, he was starting to feel pretty tired. It's not easy running for your life when you haven't had a decent meal or shower in who knows how long.

Kyoma stumbled upon a group of adventurers consisting of two swordsmen, a mage, and a healer - a balanced team composition, perfect for any RPG game. "HELP ME, OH MIGHTY ADVENTURERS!" Kyoma cried out, hoping they would come to his aid. One of the swordsmen, decked out in leather armor and wielding a shortsword, heard Kyoma's plea and rushed to his rescue. "Double slash!" he shouted, as his previously unremarkable weapon glowed blue and sliced through two rabbits in one fell swoop. The remaining eight rabbits turned their fury towards the swordsmen, but the other swordsman jumped in with a "Chop!" and cleaved a rabbit's head in two. Meanwhile, the mage chanted a dramatic incantation, calling upon the God of Fire to rain down destruction on the remaining rabbits with a fiery explosion. As the dust cleared, five rabbits were left alive, but they wisely turned tail and ran for their lives.

Kyoma breathed a sigh of relief as the adventurers successfully took out the attacking rabbits. He rushed over to the group, thanking them profusely for saving his life. The healer, a gentle-looking woman with long brown hair and a staff in her hand, examined his injuries and quickly patched him up.

Kyoma couldn't help but be amazed at the skill and power these adventurers possessed. He had never seen anything like it before. In his previous life, he was just a chef, cooking up tasty meals for his customers. But in this new world, it seemed like everyone had some sort of magical ability or combat skill.

The swordsmen introduced themselves as Hikaru and Takumi, while the mage was named Rina. The healer, who seemed to be the leader of the group, introduced herself as Sora. She explained that they were on a mission to clear out a nearby cave of some dangerous monsters, but they were happy to help Kyoma out.

Kyoma couldn't believe his luck. Not only had he been saved from a horde of killer rabbits, but he had also stumbled upon a group of skilled adventurers who were willing to take him under their wing. It looked like his new life in this new world was off to a pretty good start.

"How did you end up in this mess?" Sora, the healer, inquired softly. Kyoma's mind raced as he recounted the moment he was transported to this new world. He had been crossing the street back in his hometown when, all of a sudden, a blinding light engulfed him and he found himself in the middle of a grassy field, face-to-face with a cute bunny. But things quickly took a turn for the worse as the rabbit sank its teeth into his ankle and refused to let go. Kyoma tried to pry it off, but it was like trying to wrestle a stubborn toddler. After finally managing to shake the bunny off, Kyoma found himself under attack by even more vicious rabbits. He fought back with all his might, determined to not let these fluffballs defeat him, but their numbers soon became overwhelming. Kyoma was forced to make a run for it as the horde of rabbits chased him down, leaving him to wonder if he had somehow contracted "rab-is" from the darn things.

Kyoma's self-esteem took a hit as Hikaru burst into laughter and patted his slouching back. "Never ask a man about his tales of defeat, it's a pride killer," Hikaru joked. Kyoma looked up at Hikaru, towering over him with a height difference of more than a head. In comparison to Hikaru's 190cm, Kyoma's average 170cm stature seemed insignificant. Even Takumi, a quiet member of the group, stood at around 185cm. Kyoma couldn't help but wonder if his genes had let him down once again, leaving him as the shortest member of their company in this world.

Rina, the sassy mage with fiery red hair, couldn't resist a snarky comment. "Hmph, weaklings like you shouldn't even be venturing out into the field. That's how you get yourself killed." Kyoma scratched his head in embarrassment and mustered up a pleading smile. "I didn't expect to encounter such deadly rabbits. Say, is there a town nearby where I can take refuge?" The group of adventurers exchanged confused glances before Sora spoke up. "The nearest town is just beyond the jungle. You can walk a few hundred meters into the woods and you'll come across a path for merchants. Follow the path and you'll reach Green Ridge, a small town." Kyoma breathed a sigh of relief and expressed his gratitude to the four of them. "Thank you so much for today. I won't forget your faces, and if I can ever repay this favour, I absolutely will." The other three party members nodded in agreement and bid Kyoma farewell. Rina, however, remained silent and didn't even bother to look at Kyoma as he left.
