Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

"For the ten thousandth time, Jeremy, could you stop staring at me like I have ten heads? Kyle glared at his best friend, Jeremy, as they sat in class for their first period, History. Their teacher, Mr. White, was a serious-looking man in his early thirties with brown hair and sharp green eyes. Kyle was trying hard to pay attention and not get called out, but it was hard when Jeremy kept staring at him. He said he would break you, but you still want to do what you want to do? " Kyle gave him a blank look and said, "Yeah." "This is Hank we're talking about," he said. "You know, Hank Michelson, the guy who always shoved us into our lockers for a living." "Jeremy's eyebrow went up. Kyle let out a quiet groan and pinched his nose. This subject was getting old and annoying. He was sick and tired of hearing about who Hank was. He looked at Jeremy and said, "Dude, that was then." "We're 16 now, which is just a few years away from being adults. Isn't it about time we stopped being treated like kids?"

Kyle's words were meant to be kind, but when he said them, his voice went up, which was a loud contrast and made the two boys stand out. "Kyle, Jeremy," their history teacher said to them in a very serious voice. "Do either of you want to tell the rest of the class something?" When Jeremy felt the eyes on them, he sank into his seat. This was just what he didn't like. On the other hand, Kyle frowned at the people watching him before turning to face the teacher. "No, Mr. White. We're fine here," he said, and Jeremy quickly nodded his head to agree.

Gerard let out a sigh and looked back at the rest of the class. He was about to start again when someone knocked on the door. "Another break in the action?! He clenched his teeth in anger. He said, "Come in," out loud.

When the door opened, everyone was surprised to see Mandy walk in. Mandy, on the other hand, looked like she didn't want to be there. Her clothes showed the same thing. She wore a loose black tank top that showed off her slightly toned biceps and tight black jeans that hugged her perfect legs. She wore black and white sneakers with this outfit. She was carrying a grey bag over her right shoulder. Kyle looked at the angry wolf on her tank top and raised an eyebrow. Gerard's anger quickly turned into understanding. He turned to the class and said, "Oh, I forgot." "Today was supposed to be the day we got a new student."

"Please say your name," he said to Mandy. Mandy's brown eyes looked around the class as if she was looking for possible danger. When Hank smiled at her in a flirty way, she narrowed her eyes. The sneer on Lucy's face made her frown even more, and then she looked at Kyle. He looked back at her with an eyebrow raised.

We should pay close attention to this one. Her wolf thought, "There's something about him." She agreed with the animal for once. Then her eyes went to Jeremy. He took a deep breath and turned away. "This one is good," her wolf said. "He looks so sweet and honest. He looks like he would be fun to mess around with.' Mandy rolled her eyes and started to talk about herself.

She said, "My name is Mandy White." "I moved here from Miami. I like sports and my own space. I don't like hurting people, but if you push my buttons, there will be hell to pay. Thank you. He looked at Kyle from the side, and the look on his face told him that his friend was thinking the same thing. Gerard blinked awkwardly and said, "Right." "Thank you for such a "wonderful" start. Sit down by "He quickly looked around the class until he saw the empty seat next to Kyle and Jeremy's. "...those two young men over there," he said to end the sentence.

Mandy shrugged and sat down next to the two boys, not caring that everyone was looking at her. "All right, let's get back to class," Gerard said.

Mandy was already bored after just a few minutes. She tried not to yawn when Gerard went on and on. She sighed in frustration and was about to put her head on the table when she heard someone call her name. When she turned around, she saw Kyle looking at her with interest. He said, "Hi, I'm Kyle Blake." She just nodded.

Jeremy Griffin is his name "Kyle gave Jeremy a thumbs-up, and Jeremy sent him a nervous wave. Mandy couldn't stop herself from smiling. "Well, it looks like the boys are safe," she thought to herself. Her wolf replied, "You're telling me." "Even more so the quiet one."

She said out loud, "Nice to meet you guys," but she was careful not to draw attention to them. "So, I see a dog on your tank top. Do you like dogs?" Kyle asked, pointing to the picture. "Oh, yeah. More than you'll ever know. Some might say I'm closer to them than is humanly possible," Mandy said with a sudden dark grin on her face.

Kyle's eyebrows went up in interest, and Jeremy's face turned a little red. Kyle scratched his head and said, "I don't know what any of that means." "But that's all right. You're fine."

"Yeah, same here." Mandy nodded. She then turned to Jeremy and said, "And you, too." Jeremy just nodded and looked away with a shy smile. Mandy laughed and turned to look at the class. She was relieved when the class was over, and she quickly stood up to follow the other students as they rushed out of the room. Gerard said, "Hold on, Miss White," and she stopped moving. "I want to talk to you. The rest of you students are free to leave." As Gerard walked over to his seat, Mandy let out a frustrated groan. As soon as the class was empty except for two of them and she couldn't see anyone who might be listening in, she told them. She walked over to him and stood in front of the table that was between them. Gerard crossed his arms in front of him and looked at her. Mandy forced a smile and put her hands behind her back as she said, "Hello, Uncle Gerard."

"Mandy," Gerard said with a soft grin. "I haven't seen you in a while. How are you?"

"Great, sort of." "How are your parents? Especially your dad? I hope he's behaving himself."

"Yes, he is. Mom makes sure of it." There was a long silence between them, and Mandy started tapping her feet impatiently. She said, "I'm guessing you didn't ask me to stay behind just so we could talk about family stuff."

"Mandy," Gerard said with worry in his eyes. "I'm sure you didn't move here because your parents decided on the spot to move. Gabi told me what happened." Mandy screamed, "What?" "Did Dad tell you?"

Gerard said, "He's my big brother." "He tells me a lot of things, which you should know by now." "Of course," said Mandy, rolling her eyes. Still, Gerard said, "I have a friend who stays here, Richard. He's a doctor and can check you out." "Yes, dad said something about it before we moved," Mandy said. "Is your buddy..." Gerard finished for her, "A werewolf like the rest of us," "Yes, he is, and I wouldn't have it any other way." "I hope there aren't any needles involved," Mandy's wolf joked. "Very funny," she said in a snap.

She saw that her uncle was grinning in a funny way. Gerard asked, "Getting into a fight with your wolf?" She sighed and said, "Oh, you have no idea." "Look, Uncle G, I'll think about it. I'm still getting used to my powers, and I'm not emotionally ready to face a test where I may or may not like the results. Controlling my wolf is hard enough as it is. But I promise you, you'll be one of the first to know when I'm ready." Gerard looked at her suspiciously.

She made the sign and smiled, meaning, "Cross my heart and hope to something." "Okay, you can go," Gerard told her, rolling his eyes. She said, "See you around, Uncle G!" as she ran away.

Gerard leaned back in his chair and sighed loudly. Mandy was the first werewolf her age to be different.
