Maisha paced forth and back in her room chewing her index fingers, she was nervous and didn't know what to do. She doesn't understand how Liam found out about his father's health when she clearly told everyone not to say a thing until the man is dead. What scared her the most was that Liam did not come alone, he was escorted by a strange man who introduced himself as a doctor and has already stated that Donovan has been poisoned even when their family doctor found nothing in his body.
She picked up her phone holding it in her vibrating hands, and after a while, she dialed a number. "You told me it's going to be a slow death, Nolan." She spoke furiously to the man at the other end.
Nolan sat comfortably in his cozy apartment watching a movie when he received a call from his madam. He knew instantly something had gone wrong and he sighed, the last thing he wanted was to get into trouble. He had a five years old daughter to care for since his wife left them, getting into trouble with the Blacks was not part of his plans.
"I told you to be careful when administering the drugs, you were meant to add a drop to his food and drinks, how did you give him?" Nolan asked. Maisha recalled the event that happened, she emptied the container in his little tea that even if he only took a few sips from it, he was affected greatly.
She fell to her knees, after all these years of being patient and grateful, one mistake was to take everything away from her. Liam is not going to let her go, he's never accepted her as his mother even if he did as his father's wife. For all the insults and damages she's caused between both son and father, he never for once talked back at her or ever disrespected her.
But even she knew this time would be different, that man never spared her son, he wouldn't spare her.

Your father is sick and almost losing his life, but here you are laid on the bed like nothing is happening. You're the next heir Rafael you need to prove to the family that you're capable of handling the businesses he's willed to you." Rafael stared at his father who's now said to be an uncle. This mansion, this environment is his haven.
This is where he's been born and raised since a child. "Any little mistake from you and your brother takes everything." "Who cares if Liam takes everything, he's more capable than I am in handling the companies. He's done it for years and has made times twenty of what father ever did." Even if Rafael hated Liam, he was not blinded to the fact that he was a God when it came to business. No one could deny that fact.
He admired the man once, but his uncle spoke badly of him and made him see him as a competition rather than an inspiration. How would he know he's been plotting against his stepbrother or better still blood brother since their both mothers are sisters. Donovan was too ashamed of the past actions that he couldn't bring himself to confess to his first wife.
He wondered how he would tell her he had an affair with her sister that resulted in a child.
"Stop saying things you know nothing about Raf, I didn't raise you to be such a coward. You are now the next heir to all of your father's properties, you need to prove to the rest of the family how capable you are of handling his properties."
"That man is not dead yet, I don't know what your problem is." Rafael got up and left the mansion, all he needed was some time to himself. His mind was in chaos as different thoughts ran through his head at once. He's not been himself since he was released from that hell called a dungeon, he's yet to recover from his experience in that place, but above all of his torture, Carlos's words never left his brain.
"Boss said to shut his mother up he doesn't want them to know about her yet." They all stared at him while talking which means they were talking about his mother. Or could he be imagining things? Why would Liam even have his mother if no one knew of her existence, not even him. The last time he asked his uncle, he was told his father didn't want her so they sent her away.
He tried asking Donovan but was shut immediately. It felt like his mother's name irritated his father more than ever. He wanted to find out from the horse's mouth, but how could he? He didn't think he could face his brother, especially with everything that happened. He needed fresh air away from that nagging uncle of his who spent his entire life plotting for an impossible revenge against his brother.
He was tired of being the enemy, especially to people who are his family. Raf got into his car and drove away without a destination, one would call it a road trip and it was worth it cause of who he met on his way. He stopped at the corner of the road and got out, "Mrs. Black." She turned around to meet his gaze slightly taken aback by the figure before her.
Even Raf wondered how he saw her amidst the guards stationed there to protect her, maybe cause she's been on his mind since the last time he saw her. She's grown bigger than he last saw her and her developing features were so alluring and eye satisfying. Elsa's beauty is nothing new to anyone as she stands out no matter where she is.
"Rafael." Jesse rushed to hug him dragging her best friend behind her, her greatest wish was for their family to be united again. Both Elsa and Raf had awkward expressions on their faces due to their poor history together. Raf will always be the disgusting man who tried to rape her in his mansion, and Elsa would always be a strong woman, one he's had true feelings for even if he was a bit harsh towards her.
"You're growing more and more beautiful by the day little Jesse." She smiled. "Elsa." He greeted. "Rafael." She responded casually cutting him off from further conversation. "You look like you have an issue." He asked trying to see through the guards surrounding them. It was quite weird that all the cars they had with them broke down at this spot and it was hard connecting people from their mansion. "Yes, and our drivers are on their way to pick us up thanks for stopping by." Elsa cut him off coldly.
"Don't say that Elsa, can you give us a ride big brother we're heading to see Dad." Jesse cut in only to see him frown slightly. "I wasn't heading that way, but I'll drop you off." He stated. "Come on, let's get you, girls, out of here." He added opening the car for them. He could understand her clod attitude towards him, and he wishes they both had private time together to explain things properly to her.
Even if Liam had warned him sternly to stay away from his wife, feelings are not something that can easily die off. Especially if that person means a lot to you. He didn't care if she was married, he just wanted to be with her, to make her his, at first he thought it was all a joke, but it turns out those jokes became reality.
Elsa's thought was clouded by what her husband might be going through at the moment, he hurriedly left them in that city and later ordered for them when he arrived but refused to say a thing to them. All she wanted was to support and comfort him at this time, no matter how many times he fought or argued with his father, they were still family.
They arrived at the entrance of the mansion, and Rafael zoomed out of the yard the moment he dropped them off. He already stated he wasn't going this way, but one thing both didn't understand was why he was avoiding everyone.
Only one man had the answer to that question but he didn't care.

Both Florence and Mrs. Rival's sat taking a sip of their favorite wine while they watch their children bonding. Mrs. Rival was not blind not to notice the sad look on her son's face, but the deal Florence the new wife to Harbetto Whyte proposed was a huge one that called for the business marraige of their children. Business marriages always worked out with time even if it doesn't basically start with love.
All Florence wanted was to make her baby girl happy, even if it meant marrying into a family lower than theirs now. At least, the rivals are reputable families when it came to this city. She could see the unending happiness on her daughter's face, and it made her smile.
"Why are you doing this Claire," Damien asked.
