David stared at his back with a wide mouth. If it was in the past, his boss would certainly reject the meeting as he was invited to a bar and he didn't like loud places. What kind of a person would do a business meeting inside a bar. He shook his head, wondering if the CEO of Yu enterprise was in his right senses. But then shrugged as he found his boss weirder because his unusual behavior had been worsening day by day. He just hoped the week would flash by to return to City M.
Carl stared at the city through the window with one hand splayed on the glass and the other one in his pants pocket. He stood like that for a while, the expression on his face unfathomable. After some time, he took out his phone and looked at her contact, fighting the huge to press the call button. And after few minutes he chuckled sadly and put it back then sighed.
" Sir, did you say something,? " David said, trying not to believe that his boss had just chuckled to himself and wondered what was inside his phone as he would occasionally take it out and stare at the screen even when they were in meetings.
Carl frowned and wondered what his assistant was still doing there, then remembered that he had not dismissed him. " You can go, " he muttered coldly then continued staring at the view outside the mirror while his thoughts wandered again.
David sighed after he left the room, then took out his phone and dialed Zach's number which went directly to the voicemail. He felt his boss needed to see a doctor as he was afraid his sickness might act up again if he kept stressing himself, and only his brother can devise a plan to make him do that.
__ Two Hours Later __
Carl strode out of his suite with his car keys in hand. He was wearing a white t-shirt paired with a black jacket and black jeans.
He adjusted the shades which was laying perfectly on his face and accentuated his prominent features.
David hung his mouth open as he stared at his boss who was not in his usual business suite and looked like he was going to a party. He quickly followed behind him, knowing his boss was going to break hearts with his celestial looks today and feeling anxious that he was going to enjoy a great show.
After reaching the elevator, David pressed the button and Carl suddenly stopped in his footsteps, then turned to him. " You can go back, " he said and walked inside the elevator, leaving his flabbergasted assistant behind.
David stood rooted in the same place and wondered if it was truly a business meeting. First, it was the bar, and now his outfit. He quickly took out his phone and dialed Zach's number several times which went to voicemail again and again and he cursed inwardly.
********
Carl sped through the city and arrived at the bar which was bustling with music, the dim light in the large room shone with different colors and reflected on his face.
Despite the bustling activities going on, with some people dancing on the stage, while some were either sitting at the corner or in front of the bar counter gulping down drinks or smoking, he easily caught everyone's attention and girls immediately started fighting their way toward him in their tiny outfits that barely covered their bodies.
Carl frowned and the cold aura emanating from him made all the girls stopped in their footsteps, feeling awkward and embarrassed. He started making his way toward the elevator which would lead him up to a private suite then a girl suddenly stopped in front of him and boldly extended her hand which was holding a glass of wine toward him.
" Hi handsome, care for a drink, ?" She drawled seductively while staring at him with obsession.
Carl's frown deepened and he coldly muttered, " Scram." Then walked away and entered the elevator.
The girl gazed at his back and a cold glint passed through her eyes." I like him.". She chuckled amusingly and nonchalantly walked away.
" She's so scary."
" Yeah, I almost peed in my pants when I saw that look in her eyes.".
" But don't you think the guy looked more dangerous?".
" Haha, I bet she had met her match.".
People started gossiping in a whisper, after what had unfolded in front of them, while wondering who that mysterious man was.
_____
Carl strode toward the suite which was the only room on the floor and the bodyguards quickly opened the door for him with a bow.
" Hey, dude, how's it going.". A tall handsome guy with brown hair walked toward him with a beaming smile. He was just about Carl's age. It had been long since he last saw his friend who had not changed even for a bit.
Carl sauntered past him toward the couch and sat down after nodding at him." Ken," he greeted.
" Come on, what's with the stoic expression,? aren't you happy to see me,? " Ken whined hoping that he could at least receive a smile from his friend.
Carl chuckled and relaxed back on the couch, after picking up a wine glass that Ken had poured for him. " Why did you want to see me,?" he asked and slowly sipped the wine.
" Mmm, I want to open a fashion store in city M, and I think one of your malls will be the perfect place for it, " Ken said and also poured himself a glass.
" Mm. for who,? " Carl enquired and twirled the wine in his glass.
Ken sighed gloomily and muttered, " Well. . ., Ehm... I was just__".
" Your girlfriend.". Carl cut him off and said nonchalantly.
Ken gasped and shook his head then chuckled awkwardly, knowing well that he couldn't hide anything from the clever guy in front of him. " Yeah. . . you could say that but, ehm__".
" You broke up.". Carl cut him off with a chuckle and dropped the wine glass.
" Geez come on dude, you're creeping me out," Ken said exasperatedly wondering if he can also hear his thoughts.
After some seconds, he sighed and slowly added, " Actually, It's my grandparents. . . they want me to marry from an affluent family to elevate the family's business.".
Carl frowned and scoffed inside, finding it absurd. " So, you'll do that,?" he said nonchalantly.
