The morning light shone through the large floor-to-ceiling window, whose curtains were drawn apart, causing the girl who was sleeping on the bed and facing the window groan slightly.
Vivian squinted her eyes and was about to turn her back to the window when she felt something heavy on her waist.
Groaning again, she pushed the hand away before facing the figure. Her eyes flickered open and she was met with Matt's face, who was staring back at her with a smirk.
Sighing inside, she sat up on the bed, with the quilt wrapped around her.
Matt also sat up on the bed with a chuckle. "Morning Beauty, did you sleep well?"
Vivian scoffed at his question, then got down from the bed and went inside the bathroom.
She turned on the faucet and washed her face with one hand while the other hand was gripping tightly to the quilt, still wrapped around her.
Hearing the guy's chuckle from the bedroom, she rolled her eyes after turning off the tap, then sighed again and stared blankly at the mirror, thinking about how her life had taken a huge turn.
Her thoughts wandered back to four years ago, the time it all started.
After reaching the airport with her mother, her tremors subsided and she had rejoiced inside, knowing that she had escaped the dangerous guy's grasp, after so many months of being pestered by him.
But she should have known better. Matt never went back on his words, and just as he had promised, before she could board the plane, the guy had appeared and grabbed her away.
She didn't know what he had told her flabbergasted mother, who had waved at her before he could pull her toward another plane and brought her to this foreign country and his dangerous life.
Glancing sideways at the door which had suddenly opened, she watched as he sauntered inside the bathroom and sighed inside.
"What is still keeping you, Honey? We've got no time to lose; the sun has come up. " Matt wrapped both arms around her from behind.
Hearing the seriousness in his voice, Vivian bit her lips then slowly shook her head. "This is not right, Matt," she whispered, as they both stared into each other's eyes through the mirror.
He didn't say anything but continued hugging her, and Vivian lowered her head with a sigh, then bit her lips again.
Even though they've spent a lot of time traveling to different places and are practically living together, the thing he had said to her last night, which she had thought was a joke, didn't settle well with her.
"Aren't we happy just like this?" She smiled softly after looking up again.
Matt shook his head and turned her around, which made her gasp from the sudden action as they now faced each other face-to-face.
"Is it that boy? You're still not over him, right? " He chuckled darkly while staring down into her widened eyes.
She didn't know how much it took him to finally come to this decision. At first, he had just wanted to have fun, but now...
