"Lady boss... I'm so sorry about the proposal thing, please forgive me," David pleaded frantically while glancing back now and then in the bedroom's direction.
He clamped his palms together and continued. "Can you please ask the boss to forgive me? Please please I beg of you. I don't think I would be able to withstand another day of this punishment. Please ask him to forgive me and I promise that this prank would never repeat itself. It was actually a mistake, please lady boss, I know he only listens to you... Please tell him to forgive__"
"Alright, alright, calm down." Clara who was broke out of her shock by the guy's incessant rambling finally sighed exasperatedly. Just what kind of punishment is Big brother giving this poor guy? She could see that he is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
"Thank you, lady boss, thank you so much." David sighed in relief, finally sensing a whiff of freedom ahead. He didn't want to remember the many piles of works his boss had been giving him one after another for the past few days and had even increased his workload, by adding the Secretaries job to his schedule.
His life had been a hell of a mess, because he could only get to return home late at night, and ends up getting yelled at by his wife. And the heartless woman had even locked the house several times, and he could remember that even yesterday, he had to sleep in his car, outside his house's gate.
He knew what his boss was aiming at, since they had separated him from his woman, they won't also get to be with their women. He could also imagine Zach, receiving this kind of punishment. 'Argh! He would never follow that guy's ideas again, either crazy or not.'
Clara who had been watching the assistant who had already stood up and had on a pitiful expression sighed for the umpteenth time as the room sank into silence.
Some minutes later, her head snapped to the bedroom's direction where the guy was walking out of, now dressed in simple home clothes and her brows furrowed. Isn't he supposed to go to work?
David was also shocked, not seeing his boss dressed in his suit, then heard him say,
"Clear my schedules for today and tomorrow." Carl sat down on the couch beside the girl who was still staring at him, with a dumbfounded expression.
"Yes, Sir... about the trip?" David asked, remembering that his boss had to go to a province tomorrow.
"Mm." Carl nodded... He could go there next week.
"Okay, Sir." David quickly nodded, then his eyes slowly darted to the girl again.
After receiving the assistant's pleading gaze, Clara quickly cleared her throat and slowly turned to face the guy beside her with a soft smile. "Big brother... I think your assistant is sick," she muttered softly while holding his hands.
"Mm." Carl glanced sideways at the assistant and nodded as if he had just noticed it. "You can take a week off," he said nonchalantly then turned his attention to his hands which the girl was still holding and he chuckled softly.
"What!?" David was baffled, and he didn't know what he should be surprised most at. His boss giving him a week off which he had never dreamed would happen in this lifetime, or he had actually laughed.
His attention turned to Clara with another look of admiration, not knowing if he could control the tears of joy that were fighting to run down his face. Just one word from her and he had received this massive freedom? 'Lady boss, you're like the beautiful goddess that had finally descended to the mortal realm, to bring an end to the chaos in the world.'
He quickly broke out of his trance after noticing his boss's expression slowly turning dark, obviously warning him to leave. And he bowed frantically while muttering words of gratitude, before dashing out of the apartment.
After the assistant left...
Clara's attention turned to the guy whose gaze is still fixed on her and she slowly looked down, then found out that their hands are still intertwined.
She quickly drew back her hands with a blush, then heard the guy's chuckle.
After a while, she glanced up and found him operating on his phone. "Big brother, aren't you going to work?" She asked in confusion.
"Mm." Carl glanced sideways at her with a smile then turned his attention back to the phone and Clara made an "Oh." Sound then also nodded.
Her gaze lingered on his side profile for some time, before picking up her drawing tablet and continued drawing with a soft smile.
The atmosphere inside the room was blissful, as each of them was deeply engrossed in their works and would sneak glances at each other now and then.
After a few hours, Clara's attention turned to her phone which had suddenly made a beeping sound and she quickly picked it up from the table.
"Oh, it's Maya," She subconsciously muttered, while staring into the text message on her phone's screen. It is the invitation to the opening of her friend's mall which is in three days.
Carl looked up from his phone and glanced at her phone's screen. Watching her expression, a small smile appeared on his lips.
After sending a reply to her friend, Clara turned back to her tablet and picked up the pen, then continued drawing while Carl also returned his attention to his phone.

__ Three Days Later__
"Zach, how do I look?" Mira turned from the mirror and face the guy who was busily snapping her with his phone.
Zach saved the photo on his phone with a grin then stood up from the couch and walked toward her. "Gorgeous, " he whispered in her ear while wrapping both arms around her.
"Hehehe." Mira nodded with a chuckle as they both faced the mirror.
"Zach?" She softly called out after a while as the guy kissed her cheeks. "Have you found those men that took Clara away when she was little?"
