Chapter 230 - CHAPTER 230: DON'T GIVE HIM A HARD TIME.

Maybe she inherited it, as she had also heard that her real mother also kept a very low profile when she was still alive.

Glancing at the girl who is now chatting happily with Mira, she sighed inside, remembering how she had heard the shocking news from Lily, a few days ago, when the girl had told her that Jack's mother is actually Clara's aunty.

And also, the girl bears a striking resemblance to her real mother.

She was still deep in her thoughts when her gaze darted to the door which had suddenly opened and she watched as her husband walked inside with a phone in his hand.

"Hubby..." She stood up with a sweet smile then sauntered toward him.

"Oh." Ken chuckled as she held his arm and dragged him out of the room.

When they walked out of the door, Maya's smile instantly vanished and she gave him a stern look. "When is he coming?" She whispered with a snap and Ken sighed exasperatedly, not knowing the lie he was going to tell her this time.

He carefully wrapped both hands around her waist and finally decided to tell her the truth. "He's not coming."

"What!?" Maya exclaimed and Ken quickly placed a palm on her lips.

"Don't shout dear... The baby," he muttered softly while glancing down at her stomach and Maya pursed her lips, then heard him continued.

"Mum and Dad just called a while ago, they wanted to know the theme you'll like, for our wedding."

"Oh." Maya chuckled softly with a brightened expression and she replied, "I want a fairy tale wedding." As she had already started making her Cinderella wedding gown which is her favorite Disney character.

Their wedding is in two months time as his parent had said that they have to rush it before her stomach becomes big.

"When would they come back?" She asked with a soft smile as they were expecting the couple to return today from City X.

"Oh... They wanted to spend more time with grandma and grandpa, they'll probably return next month to continue with the wedding preparation," Ken explained happily then pecked her on the cheek while Maya giggled with a sigh of relief.

She would at least have alone time with her husband for a few more days as the couple had not even allowed her to eat by herself back in City X. She chuckled softly, wondering if they're going to abandon her and turned all their attentions to the baby after it was born.

Staring down at her cheerful expression, Ken chuckled and glanced down at his wristwatch. "I'm off to work, take care of yourself and my baby... Don't forget to take your medications and also eat on time, and__"

"Urgh! Alright, Alright." Maya sighed exasperatedly then a soft gasp escaped her lips as he suddenly wrapped his hands around her waist again and slowly pulled her closer.

"Oh." She chuckled, while staring into his eyes then also wrapped her arms around his neck and stood on her toes while his lips slowly landed on hers.

They were still kissing deeply when soft giggles were suddenly heard from their sides and the clicking sound of a camera.

"Gina!?" Ken sighed exasperatedly after breaking away from his wife. "Bring that phone," he called out agitatedly, however, the girls had already rushed inside the room while holding boxes of snacks.

Maya chuckled and slowly followed him down the stairs while holding on to his arm.

After waving him goodbye as he drove away in his car, she walked back to the house with the small smile still on her lips.

      ** A Few Hours Later **

"Oh, I can't believe it is almost nighttime," Mira exclaimed as she glanced down at her wristwatch while marveling at how much time had passed while they were engrossed in planning about Maya's fashion house and also her wedding.

Lucy had already left a while ago after getting a call from her father.

"Maya, I'll be heading back now," She muttered hurriedly while turning to the girl who was engrossed in drawing several designs of dresses on a book then turned to the girl who was slightly dozing off on the bed. "Clara, are you going to sleep here?"

"Huh?" Clara slowly opened her eyes in a daze, then stared at her for some seconds and she quickly shook her head. "I'm going home too... Good night, Maya."

"Oh, okay." Maya slowly nodded with a gloomy expression then she carefully stood up from the bed. "Clara, remember what we've told you... And make sure you pick his calls next time, don't give the poor guy a hard time!" she warned sternly and Clara pursed her lips while rubbing the sleep off her eyes.

She sighed inside, and bid her friend goodbye then she and Mira walked out of the room, toward the mansion gate where a driver was already waiting for them in the car.

"Clara..." Mira called out softly after they entered the car which took off immediately.

Clara turned to her, knowing what the girl was about to say, and she sighed inside. "It's alright Mira, don't worry," she said softly, thinking about how her friend could be so much in love with that guy.

But she had also heard that he's her first love.

Mira chuckled and slowly nodded then held her arm while resting her head on the girl's shoulder.

Several minutes passed by before the car finally arrived at the front of the estate and Clara got out then waved her friend good night.

Walking toward her apartment after passing by the security men at the gate, she sighed again and gripped tightly on her bag, while looking down, as her thoughts drifted back to Derek's text again that morning, about the game apps and her comics.

She bit her lips as she neared her apartment, then glanced up subconsciously, and a gasp suddenly escaped her lips.

                  "Mummy."

                  "Mummy."

The twins called out cheerfully while running toward her, each trying to be faster than the other.
