"Morning..." He greeted the girls who were chatting happily while eating then sat down on the chair and joined them.
Both Clara and Lily greeted back with a smile and the chatter continued.
"Big Sis... why the rush?" Lily chuckled softly while staring at her sister who had been eating hurriedly.
Clara also chuckled and shook her head. "I have to hurry or else I'm going to be late for work," she replied rapidly while her attention was still on the food and both Jack and Lily stared at each other worriedly.
"Ehm... Sister-in-law, why don't you rest for today? I'll have people deliver your things here from your apartment and also your new phone will arrive later," Jack explained slowly while Lily also nodded.
"Yes Big Sis, the delivery guy might come at any moment and we're leaving immediately after eating... So the house will be empty if you also left for work," She added in her usual soft voice with a smile and sighed in relief as her sister's small frown disappeared.
"Oh, okay." Clara slowly nodded and sighed heavily. "I bet I have to beg Mr. Long on my knees tomorrow then," She muttered with a pout and the couple laughed softly.
After they were done eating, both Lily and Jack waved her goodbye and Clara walked them toward the gate and watched as their car drove off in the silent neighborhood.
She turned around and strolled toward the door while her eyes darted lazily around the house.
"Jack's house is really beautiful," she muttered with a chuckle as her gaze landed on the swing which was connected to a large tree nearby, just a few steps from the swimming pool.
She skipped toward its direction and sat down on it with a soft smile while breathing in the fresh air of the morning, mixed with the lovely scents of the flowers that were occasionally falling from the tree.
Swinging slowly, her eyes lingered on the swimming pool and after some minutes sighed inside as her thoughts wandered to yesterday and the expressions on the women's faces.
She quickly shook the thoughts off and picked up a flower which had landed beside her then admired it for some minutes and shortly after, her eyes darted to the small gate and she got down from the swing then walked toward it.
"Hello," she greeted the delivery guys that were holding huge boxes and a luggage then opened the gate wide.
The guys greeted her back with wide smiles and followed her inside the house.
After they settled everything in the storeroom, one of them gave her a small bag which she guessed contained her new phone and they soon left after bidding her goodbye.
Clara dragged the luggage back inside her room, then started rummaging through it.
She sighed helplessly after seeing that her old phone was not inside, as she needed to retrieve her sim card.
'Maybe they had tossed it into the trash after seeing that it was very damaged,' she thought inside then her eyes darted to the opened luggage and a frown settled on her face.
Taking out the black necktie, she examined it carefully as her frown deepened then finally shrugged after a while, and put it back inside her luggage.
"Maybe it's for Dad?... But Dad doesn't wear suits." She zipped the luggage with another shrug then took it inside the closet.
Walking back to the bed, She sat down then opened the small bag and unwrapped the box which was inside then retrieved her new phone.
Switching it on, she sighed in relief after noticing that there is a new sim card inside and a chuckle escaped her lips. She can't wait to call Maya and inform her about her sister's engagement and everything that happened in City H.
She tapped in her friend's number which she already knew by heart and after a few rings, it was instantly picked up.
"Hey, Maya," She muttered cheerfully then listened to her friend's slight gasp, and then came her excited voice.
"Clara I miss you so much... Is the engagement over?" Maya asked from the other end and Clara nodded.
"Yeah, we came back yesterday, and guess what?" She asked mischievously with a huge grin.
"Is it about Lily's engagement with Jack? Sorry dear... your dear friend has ears everywhere," Maya drawled proudly with a chuckle.
"Argh! Damn you, Maya." Clara sighed exasperatedly and scoffed.
Maya laughed loudly from the other end and Clara distanced the phone from her ears with a pout.
"But how did you know?" She asked after her friend was done laughing.
"Oh, Lily told me... I also spoke with Jack on the phone," Maya replied then remembered the other thing the girl had told her about her friend's condition and she sighed heavily.
Clara frowned after hearing her friend sighed and she was about to talk when the girl continued.
"Uhm... Clara, If any guy asks you out don't agree. Okay?... I already have someone in mind for you and he's very handsome."
"Huh? Is it one of your husband's friends?" Clara asked with furrowed brows.
"Yes, Yes... He's Ken's best friend... You'll like him so much and he also lives in City M."
"Not interested," Clara replied nonchalantly while twirling her hair with a finger.
"Wait, Wait Clara... He's very rich and charismatic," Maya added rapidly.
"Nope... rich, handsome, and charismatic guys are very dangerous, Maya... I'm still not interested"
"Urgh!" Maya sighed exasperatedly from the other end while cursing the stubborn girl inside her head, she had also realized that her friend's attitude had changed. If it was before, she would squeal at the mention of the word charismatic.
Clara shook her head with a chuckle and after some seconds sighed deeply. "Don't worry Maya, I'm not planning to fall in love now. My aim is just to make money... plenty of money," she said with a sigh and remembered the guy in her dreams. That idiot had taken her heart away, too bad she couldn't see his face. 'Hmph.'
