The man stared at the paper with knitted brows then glanced at the rearview mirror to look at the girls once more.
He quickly nodded an answer then started driving while Lily stared at him with a small frown then she sighed and turned sideways then rested her sister's head on her lap while stroking her hair gently.
After some minutes, she lowered her head and closely stared at her sister's face whose eyes were now closed. " Big Sis, " she called out softly and after hearing a weak reply from her, she sighed in relief and glanced out of the window.
An hour passed by before they arrived at the place. And Lily woke her sister up then carefully helped her out of the car after paying the driver.
" Just hold on a little bit more Big Sis.... we've arrived at the place, " she said softly and held on tightly to her as her weight was gradually becoming heavier on her.
Her eyes darted around the silent neighborhood then glanced up at the huge building which seemed to be the only real house in the area, with the other two houses at its side looking dilapidated and slightly looking more obsolete than the one they were standing in front of.
" Let's go, Big Sis." Heaving a deep breath, she turned to her sister and wrapped both arms around her from the side, then they carefully walked forward until they were standing in front of the huge metal gate which was incredibly worn out.
The gate opened automatically and Lily heaved a sigh of relief and glanced at her sister whose breathing was now unstable. She bit her lips then tightened her arms around her then they entered inside.
They limped through the small bushes that almost reach their knees and when they stopped in front of the huge wooden door after climbing the three small stairs, another surprise overtook her.
Not because the door opened automatically again but the view inside it. And magnificent was the only word that could register in her head.
But she didn't have time to admire the beautiful scenery as her eyes widened and she quickly caught her sister who was now limp in her arms.
" Big Sis!!!, " she called out hurriedly then her widened eyes rapidly darted around the room, and just before she could call out for help, sounds of hurried footsteps came rumbling down from upstairs, and in the next second, more than twenty young men and women appeared in front of them who had on the same look of astonishment as hers.
However, she could also see a hint of excitement in their eyes.
" W..Who are you, " she stammered while holding tightly to her sister then a deep masculine voice sounded from upstairs.
" Don't scare the girls, now go back to your tasks."
She glanced up at the Old man with long white beards that almost reached his chest. Was he the man her father said they were supposed to meet? Her expression slightly turned calm and she stared down at her sister with a sigh.
Sighting the two girls from downstairs the man's eyes widened and he hurried down the stairs in large footsteps and Lily looked up again and was astonished at his nimbleness.
" Lily..." Her head snapped to her sister who had called out in her week voice and she sighed in relief.
Clara could barely make out the blurry figures which had started walking away and her weak hands tightened on her sister's clothes. " Who are they?"
Her voice had started fading and Lily had to move her ears closer to her mouth to hear what she was saying.
" We are friends dear__ You, carry her upstairs." The old man gestured at one of the guys who quickly picked her up in his arms and started rushing up the stairs.
Lily's eyes were still fixed on the old man in shock and wondered how he had heard her sister from a far distance. She could also notice a brim of tears in the man's eyes as his gaze followed her sister.
" I can read lips." The man turned to Lily with a chuckle and flicked away the small tear in his eyes.
" Follow me," he added before turning around and Lily quickly nodded then stood up from the ground and rushed after the man as he walks up the stairs in large strides.
They soon stopped in front of a room where she assumed her sister was inside and after some minutes, the man opened the door and they walked inside.
Lily gasped again at the huge bed at the center of the room and the only thing that made it look similar to a hospital ward was that the room was surrounded by white materials including the curtains and bedsheets.
Her eyes landed on her sister who was now dressed on the bed in a hospital gown with a young woman standing beside her.
She rushed toward her and could see her eyes slowly flickering. " Big Sis, " she called out softly then heard the man's voice from behind her.
" You should wait in the next room little girl, your sister is about to undergo treatment, " he said softly to her while his eyes were still fixed on Clara's face then looked up and nodded to the young woman who was standing at the bedside.
" Let's go dear, " the woman said softly and held Lily's arm who slowly nodded then they walked out of the room.
After the door was closed, the old man sighed then walked toward a cabinet from the far end of the room and retrieved a small bottle.
He walked back to the bedside and carefully sat down beside the girl whose eyes were still shut.
"Can you hear me dear" he called out softly then watched as her fingers moved slightly.
He sighed in relief and uncapped the small bottle then brought it closer to her mouth. "There... drink it. It will help with your heart."
Clara drank the whole bottle of sweet strawberry-flavored liquid in her subconscious state.
And after that, she could hear the man saying, " Good... Now let's get down to business."
