Jack was busily chatting with one of his business partners when his eyes darted to the corner where he left the girl. " What!" His pupils dilated which made the older man standing in front of him, frowned and asked worriedly; what was wrong.

" He's coming back." One of the twins whispered to his brother and they quickly left the table.
Jack glared at them as they sauntered past him and he heard them chuckled and said at the same time. " This is payback bro, payback...hehehe."
He sighed helplessly and gave them an 'I'll get you later look' then quickly strode toward the girl. " Clara, can you hear me?"
He shook her with a frown and looked down at the glass of juice she had finished. " Shit, those devious boys." He sniffed the glass then caught a whiff of alcohol and his expression darkened.
He turned back with a glare and the twins smirked at him from where they were sitting with other girls. He sighed and pulled her into his arms toward the elevator, as the party was not finished yet and he was afraid she might start throwing her fits if she suddenly wakes up.
They soon arrived at the top floor and the hotel manager hurried toward him. " Sir, here's the card. " the man handed him the room's card while his eyes were fixed on the girl in his arms.
" You may leave." Jack glared at him and walked toward the door while the man scrambled away.
He pushed the door open with his leg after inserting the car, then walked inside the suite.
After placing her on the bed, he sighed in relief, seeing that she was sleeping peacefully. He gazed at her then chuckled and shook his head while wondering why she didn't listen to his advice to keep away from the mischievous twins.
" So beautiful, " he whispered and caressed her hair with a smile. If only she could open her eyes now and hear his confessions. He spoke to the sleeping girl for a while then went inside the bathroom after removing her heels and tucking her inside the blanket.
Some minutes later, he came out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, and contemplated whether he should call his assistant to bring him a new set of clothes, but shook the idea off as he watched the time which says 1:15 AM. He would just call him tomorrow morning.
His gaze landed on the girl who was sleeping on the bed and he noticed a small frown on her face. " Clara?" He went and sat on the bed's edge and placed a hand on her forehead whose temperature was normal.
" Clara?" He called out again with a frown as she groaned. He was about to shake her to wake up when she suddenly opened her eyes and he almost jumped up from the bed.
" Y..You scared me... weren't you sleeping just now?" He held his chest while staring at the girl as she stood up on the bed and strode toward him.
" Come here." He watched as she forcefully grabbed his hands and he plopped on the bed with her. He sighed exasperatedly after realizing that she was still drunk.
Clara looked up after a while as he held her tightly to prevent her from falling. " Why are you doing this, " she whispered and slowly caressed his face with drowsy eyes.
" D..doing what?" He looked down at her in astonishment. ' did she find out.'
" Why do you love me so much? " he heard her say and his eyes widened while his heart thumped rapidly.
" C..Clara?" He stared at her eyes which were looking back at him with a pained expression then a tear dropped from her eyes. " Do you really love me?" she sniffed and placed both palms on his cheekbones.
" Clara?" a small smile appeared on his lips and he tried to wipe her tears while nodding slowly, not able to utter the words as happiness swelled in his heart.
" Please don't leave me again." She begged and sniffed back more tears. Then slowly lowered her head.
" I love you too Carl, I love you, " she whispered and Jack opened his eyes and watched her with dilated pupils as their lips were just inches apart.
' Did she just mention Carl?' He was confused for a second and his heart tightened his expression darkened and got up from the bed, making her plop down on the floor in the process.
He sighed helplessly and turned back quickly as he heard her winced in pain then carried her and carefully lay her on the bed.
Clara held tightly onto his collar while more tears were streaming down her face. " Please say that you only love me, Carl, don't leave me please. she was just lying right, she isn't your fiancee.... " she pleaded while begging him with her eyes and Jack sighed heavily as his heart ached.
He sat down beside her and held her in his arms. " Why can't it be me Clara, why... I love you, " he whispered in her ears as he rocked her in his arms. Why can't she just forget Carl?
Clara hugged him back while whimpering in his arms. " I love Carl." She repeated for a long time before finally falling asleep.
Some minutes later, he glanced down at the girl who was now sleeping deeply and sighed again with an indescribable emotion. Out of everyone, why does she have to fall for Carl?
