Zonna with Etiene, followed by their bodyguards and Marzee, made their way to the arena. Their presence caused a stir among Maji watching situation.
"I didn't think anyone would dare come out, did you?"
"The poor women seem themselves at the mercy of this nobleman,"
"They think that with their beauty they will save the skin of this poor man, they must be crazy?"
"Maybe they want to hire this swordsman?" Someone asked.
"They should have heard that he belongs to the 'elite' among the locals. Besides, after all, he despises us nobles." Another person, answered him.
Their appearance and the purpose for which they went to the arena was widely commented on in the stands. Everyone was sure of one thing, that they belonged to the nobility. This was betrayed by the group following them and their clothing containing the coat of arms, a tradition of noble families in Altea. Maji just didn't know how high up in the hierarchy they were.
Desmon initially looked at Zonna and Etiene with surprise and then with fury. How dare such beautiful women defy him for this trash. After all, HIS position and handsome appearance, should make women queue up for him to bestow his interest on them. They shouldn't be interested in this local clown, who didn't even have the looks. Then it dawned on him. They intervened to get HIS attention, probably their position otherwise would not have allowed it.
"I apologize, dear ladies, for my outburst earlier, but this is not the best way to get me interested in you. However, since you have succeeded, I will just deal with this villager and we can take care of ourselves." Said the confident Desmon with elegance, looking forward to the company of two beautiful women.
His words caused many Maji to suddenly 'bedazzle' and they seemed to understand the intentions of Zonna and Etiene. Sneers could be heard among those gathered about the noblewomen's desire to gain the attention of the young Duke of Urino.
Even Sirius, who at first looked at them with distrust, adopted a hostile attitude. "You can do your business later. I'm not interested in some twisted courtship of nobles. Get out of here. I now have a clarification to make with this coward about the attack on me from behind. I will not forgive him until he learns at least a shred of honor." He said coolly in the direction of the princesses.
Zonna wanted to speak up and explain the situation. She was forestalled by Etiene, who was standing slightly behind, and up to that point looked embarrassed by the crowd's interest. Sirius' words, however, caused her to move forward and slap him in the face with an open hand.
"Let's go Zonna, we need to do our business, not waste time on an ungrateful asshole." She grabbed her shocked friend's hand and started to leave the stadium, followed by the rest of their group.
There was complete silence until someone spoke too loudly: "Maybe they really just wanted to help Sirius." These words had a sobering effect on the rest of Maji, who began to exchange views on the matter. Desmon also came to a similar conclusion, and began shouting.
"Stop, stop!!! STOP!!! Cristo stop them!" Suddenly a Desmon's Maji jumped out of the stands wanting to stop the women leaving the stadium.
"Andros." Etiene's cool voice was all it took to send Cristo straight into the wall with a fireball. There was silence in the stadium again, which then erupted into a huge buzz of conjecture from Maja.
"It was a mage, they had a mage in their entourage." It could be heard most often. This was unexpected for them for two reasons. First, because Andros, Sebastios and Ramza were dressed as ordinary bodyguards, not in the robes of mages. This was related to the second reason, because mages for the protection of their children could usually only be afforded by the families of the very influential upper nobility in a country, so it would immediately betray their position and make it difficult to move. Even Desmon had only ordinary bodyguards, since his father, despite being a duke, did not have as much influence to hire mages to protect his son.
Most of Maya began to wonder about the identity of the women, and looked with pity at the authors of the whole incident. Both Desmon and Sirius provoked and insulted noblewomen of great influence. While the former, in his rage, had not yet realized what he had done, Sirius began to regret his hasty words. Being angry with his assailant, he spurned help from well-intentioned Maji in his anger. Sirius despised the nobles and wealthy who took advantage of their positions, not all of them in general. He knew he had done wrong and should do something about it. The only question that remained was whether they would agree to his apology. He also hoped that since they wanted to help the stranger, they would not hold a grudge and want to take revenge on him for the insult.
At the same time, Zonna and Etiene were moving away from the stadium at a fast pace. When they reached their carriage, inside Etiene burst out.
"You can imagine them. One thinks everything revolves around him and every woman fights for his attention, and the other can't accept help and even nods in agreement with first moron. Both idiots should pierce each other with those swords of theirs. On top of that, you, yes YOU Zonna, are getting into trouble by meddling in a conflict that is not yours." She took a quick breath and after a moment continued her tirade.
"I can still understand helping a person attacked from behind, but trying to explain to that asshole there about a misunderstanding would be overkill. Don't pretend you wouldn't do that. I could see well how you were calm and wanted to clarify the misunderstanding. The most annoying thing is that we will be attending Raalo Academy together with these jerks. I hope the rest of students have more intelligence and savvy than these two idiots, or else these five years will make me crazy."
Zonna couldn't stand it anymore and started laughing. Etiene's reaction and support meant a lot to Zonna, but the mere sight of an angry friend was so comical that she couldn't contain her laughter.
"What are you laughing at!" The older princess threw in angrily.
"I'm sorry just looking at you now I couldn't stand it. Thank you for what you did there. I always try to be calm and I have a habit of explaining something to Maji when they misunderstand me. I didn't remember that I don't have to explain anything. Thank you again." With a sincere smile, Zonna said.
Etiene, after calming down, realized that she had slapped someone in front of a large group of people, and on top of that, after one word, her bodyguard attacked someone with a fireball.
"Do you think people will laugh at me now that I have a big temper?" Asked Etiene cautiously, in which her shy nature was clearly evident.
"You have nothing to worry about. They won't dare." Said Zonna with complete seriousness then burst out laughing. The friends teased each other while the carriage approached the Academy.
