Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

As Lilly and Nitish strolled hand in hand through the bustling city centers of the underwater kingdom, the joyous atmosphere seemed to embrace them. The recent victory and the successful healing of Matriarch Melurine had brought newfound hope to the merfolk, and it reflected in their smiles and laughter.

Amidst the jubilation, Nitish couldn't help but steal glances at Lilly. Her radiant smile, her eyes sparkling with happiness, and her flowing hair that danced with the gentle current of the sea enchanted him like never before. He felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that they had overcome countless trials together.

Lilly noticed Nitish's affectionate gaze and playfully nudged him. "What are you staring at, silly?" she teased, her laughter echoing in the water.

"You," Nitish replied, a soft smile gracing his lips. "I can't help it. You're breathtaking."

Blushing, Lilly looked away, feeling a warmth spread through her cheeks. "You always know the right things to say," she said, her heart fluttering with joy.

As they continued their leisurely walk, they found a secluded spot where they could sit and enjoy the view of the underwater city. The gentle glow of luminescent plants illuminated their surroundings, creating a romantic ambiance.

"I never imagined my life would change so much when I first met you," Nitish confessed, his gaze unwavering. "You've brought so much love and happiness into my world."

Lilly's heart swelled with emotion. "And you've brought adventure and excitement into mine," she replied, her voice tender. "You're not just a half-blooded outsider, Nitish. You're my hero, my partner in crime, and my confidante."

He leaned in closer, his forehead resting gently against hers. "I'll always stand by your side, Lilly," he vowed. "Together, we can face anything."

As they embraced, lost in the comfort of each other's arms, a sudden movement in the shadows caught Nitish's attention. His senses heightened, and he instinctively pulled Lilly away just in time as a group of masked assassins lunged at them.

The assassins, armed with deadly weapons, surrounded the couple. Their eyes burned with malice, driven by a sinister determination to eliminate the mermaid princess and the outsider they considered a threat.

"We've finally caught you, Princess Lilly," one of the assassins sneered. "It's time to pay for your betrayal!"

Lilly stood tall, her heart steady despite the danger that lurked around her. "I will not be intimidated by your threats," she declared, her voice resolute. "You will never harm our kingdom or the ones I love."

As the assassins attacked, Nitish unleashed his newfound control over the solar bloodline. Fire erupted from his hands, creating a dazzling display of flames that danced and swirled in the water, illuminating the dark depths.

Using his agility and speed, Nitish fought back fiercely, countering every strike with precise movements. He made sure to protect Lilly at every turn, deflecting any harm that came her way.

Lilly, on the other hand, tapped into her aquatic manipulation, using water as her shield and weapon. With swift movements, she incapacitated the assassins, rendering them helpless in the water's embrace.

But amidst the chaos, one of the assassins managed to get close to Lilly. Before Nitish could react, the assassin struck her with a sharp blade, causing her to cry out in pain.

"No!" Nitish's heart pounded, and fury surged within him. With a ferocity he had never known, he unleashed his full power, engulfing the assassin in a torrent of blazing fire.

The other assassins watched in terror as their comrade disintegrated before their eyes. Fear gripped their hearts, and they retreated, fleeing from the wrath of the powerful half-beastman.

Nitish quickly swam to Lilly's side, cradling her in his arms. "Are you alright?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"I'll be fine," Lilly replied, her voice weak but determined. "Thanks to you, we're safe."

Nitish's eyes softened as he gently caressed her cheek. "I'll always protect you," he said, his voice tender. "No matter what."

Lilly after hearing this hugged nitish and gave a smirk without the knowledge of nitish thinking the plan is working.
