Roulan didn't expect Huiqing to pull her towards such a booth. The two entered an entrance, seemingly without any other students outside the booth.
"Are you sure this is okay, Huiqing?"
It seems as though they entered a restricted place, making Roulan question the smaller woman who's walking in front of her. Huiqing hums in response, which flattens Roulan's feelings a little.
They walk a little further from the entrance of the place, making the pathway a little darker. Roulan scooted a little closer towards Huiqing, which made the smaller woman stop in her tracks.
"Are you scared?"
"No."
Roulan denied it; her eyes gazed on the surroundings of the place. Huiqing looks towards the taller woman, humming as if she's waiting for her to tell the truth.
Either way, they both start walking again. Huiqing is still in front, and Roulan is behind the smaller woman.
Huiqing felt as though Roulan kept scooting over, making her giggle quietly. Until they both reach the middle of the place, where it's completely dark.
"Huiqing, what are we doing here?"
The smaller woman didn't answer her question. Roulan felt a presence behind her, feeling the person breathing.
She got goosebumps, not wanting to turn around and greet the person behind her.
"Huiqing."
"Roulan, stay close."
The smaller woman said. Wait, her voice seems a little distant from where Roulan stands.
The taller woman swallowed an imaginary thing inside her mouth. She slowly turned to the person in front of her and was greeted by a woman with white makeup.
"AHHHH!"
-
Huiqing laughs as she points at Roulan, seeing the taller woman almost in tears and sweating like crazy.
Roulan glares towards Huiqing, looking back at the place and finally seeing what booth they went in.
Haunted Building Booth.
"They can't even think of a good name."
"Why? It's worth it; you were scared."
Huiqing chuckled at Roulan's reaction. The math club set up the horror booth; Huiqing wants to get it for their cheerleading club.
But they didn't get it because the math club already had their hands on it.
Which leaves the cheerleading club to take the photo booth yet again.
"I thought we'd be going somewhere fun."
"Oh, speaking of, let's go."
Huiqing quickly grabbed Roulan's hands, dragging the taller woman towards—no one knows where. Roulan didn't have any time to process what the smaller woman wanted but let her drag somewhere.
Roulan's eyes went to look around the place; there were a lot of people inside the campus.
Her gaze went towards the left side, furrowing her eyebrows upon seeing two people who seemed to be talking with each other seriously.
She stops in her tracks, causing Huiqing to stop as well and look at the taller woman in confusion.
"Is there something wrong?"
Huiqing asks, but Roulan didn't answer her question. Huiqing saw how Roulan's eyebrows furrowed, causing her to look somewhere the taller woman's gaze lay.
Her eyes were greeted by Yanmei, and she seemed to be upset talking to someone in front of her.
Looking at the person in front, she saw how the man tried to hold Yanmei's hands yet the older woman avoided his touch.
"Seems like Yanmei got in trouble with her boyfriend."
Huiqing said nonchalantly, which caused the taller woman to quickly look at her with confusion.
"He's not her boyfriend, that's-"
Yet Roulan stops on what she's supposed to say. What will she even say?
'That man is not her boyfriend because she has a wife.'
The smaller woman waits until Roulan says something—something she's been wanting to hear.
Who is Yanmei in Roulan's life?
A relative? Cousin? Close friends? Childhood friend? Or worst, her girlfriend?
Huiqing couldn't help but ball her fist secretly, her lips curving a sarcastic smile as her gaze still landed on the taller woman who stayed quiet.
"No one, let's go?"
Roulan said, smiling towards Huiqing. The smaller woman's fist quickly loosens, her smile turning genuine.
"Yeah, let's go."
Yanmei's eyes leave Peizhi's place, who seems to be genuinely saying sorry to her. Her gaze landed on two familiar figures that left.
She quickly scoffs, her hands balling into a fist as she looks back towards the man and waves her hands.
"Leave me alone, Peizhi."
"Yanmei, I just want to say sorry-"
"Save your apology bastard; I have some important things to do."
She said, leaving the man behind the corner of the university. Peizhi looks at the fading figure of Yanmei, his head looking down on the ground.
"Yanmei!"
The mentioned woman looked behind her, seeing Guang with Yu and Lanfen. She stops in her tracks, waiting for the three to reach her area. Upon arrival, the two (Yu and Lanfen) quickly asked if she saw Roulan.
"That's where I'm going right now."
Yanmei spoke, her face laying a serious expression as she remembered Huiqing and Roulan were together. She quickly walked away, causing the three to follow her to no one knew where.
-
"Huiqing."
Roulan looked up at the sign of the booth they were in front of. It was the marriage booth. She looks at the smaller woman, seeing how happy Huiqing looked, yet she didn't want to do what the smaller woman's mind was on.
She already knows what she wants, and even if it's not truly a real wedding, she still feels as though she's cheating on Yanmei.
Heck, even two-timing the woman just by standing in front of the booth.
"Come on, Roulan, this only happens once in a lifetime."
Huiqing said, pulling the taller woman inside the booth. It was only a very simple, beach-like wedding set up.
Roulan remembered how she and Yanmei were also linked towards a lifetime in a beach wedding. Yet that one was extravagant, as Shihong rented the whole beach.
The booth has a wallpaper of the beach view with the sun setting on the end of the wallpaper. There are literal sand particles on the side of the island where a red carpet lies.
There are six small bouquets on either side of the aisle, connected with a white-loose fabric. It does feel like a small wedding that only family and friends can attend.
"State the names."
"Qin Huiqing and Li Roulan."
The acting priest looked at the two women before he nodded. He looked beside him, nodding his head as the other students went their way towards them and put on the necessary clothing.
Huiqing with a veil and a plastic white flower bouquet while Roulan is wearing a black blazer and a black ribbon.
Huiqing saw Roulan's look; her heart moved in the process. Even with a simple black ribbon and black blazer, she still looks flawless.
Of course, she's wearing her clothes. A plain white tee and black trousers with matching white sneakers. A completely casual look, but she still looks flawless, according to Huiqing.
"Please face each other."
The acting priest waved his hand, causing the two women to face each other.
"Qin Huiqing, do you take Li Roulan to be your non-lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, as long as you both shall live?"
Huiqing smiled widely. Her head nodding frantically as she jumps a little in her place.
"I do."
"Li Roulan, do you take Qin Huiqing to be your non-lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, as long as you both shall live?"
Roulan stopped for a while, looking at the smaller woman in front of her, who held the widest smile she had ever seen.
Almost a little creepy.
Yet, her mind travels back to a certain brunette, the same height as Huiqing, who's in front of her and two years older than them.
"Yes."
