As soon as Michael opened the door that led to another room, he was greeted by a middle-aged woman who could be described as attractive based on her striking blonde hair as if they were bleached, her blue eyes, and her well-defined body. Michael just glanced at her and took a seat in front of the desk, which had on top of it some pieces of paper.
"Hello. I'm professor Alina, and I'll conduct the second and final part of the theoretical examination. Any questions before we begin?" asked professor Alina.
"Hello, professor. I'm Michael Dacre. No, I don't have any questions. We can begin the exam," said Michael to the professor.
"Very well, then all you have to do is answer these six questions to the best of your ability," said Alina as she pointed at a paper in front of Michael.
Michael looked at the piece of paper and started reading the questions. Still, before he could completely read the first question, he was interrupted by Alina, "I want to remind you that there are not necessarily any wrong answers, but the more eloquent and complete your answer is, the more your points will also increase as the first part of the exam this part is also timed. Good luck," added Alina, then closed her eyes, waiting for Michael to finish answering the questions.
Michael started rereading the questions. The first question was more general, as it asked what magic is and how it is defined and understood. The second question asked how the spells that can be conjured worked and if you possessed any affinity, or else he could leave this question blank. The third one asked about the different types of magic and their differences.
The fourth one asked about the fundamental principles of magic and their universal laws if known. The fifth one asked about the known history of magic, how it evolved, and any prominent figures and events in magical history. The last one was a moral question about the role of magic in society and how magic is viewed from the non-awakeners point of view.
Michael then started answering the questions as they were pretty basic, all six of them, or maybe they were basic for him, who was raised as noble and had an education from an early age. In contrast, commoners probably did not know about past magical events or how magic fundamentally worked.
After he answered all the questions, he called professor Alina.
"Professor, I finished answering."
"Very well. The results will be posted tomorrow morning on the main building's bulletin board so you can check them there. Also, the academy this year provides a one-night stay at the academy dorms until the results are announced. That's it, you can now leave," said the professor and stacked the paper with all the others.
"Thank you, professor," replied Michael and left the room of the examination center.
When Michael left the room, Alina took the paper and read Michael's answers. When she finished reading the answered sheet, she exclaimed,
"New record time in answering the questions, and a perfect answer in all of them. I guess the rumors were true about him," said Alina, coincidentally having the same thoughts as professor Allister.
What Alina didn't know was that Michael only gave a perfect answer to all of the questions because of his previous life on earth, especially the last question, which asked about how non-awakened people viewed magic. How could someone who was an awakener know how to answer the question if they haven't had a first-hand experience? Probably not even Michael realized that his previous life experiences helped him perfectly answer this question.
Back on Michael, after exiting the door, he found himself outside of the examination center but on the other side of it. Watching the sunset, he just wanted to go back to the dorms and relax his body and mind, not due to any exhaustion because of the test but due to the events that transpired throughout the day.
Finding himself at the dorms where he left Elina, he walked inside and headed to the counter.
"Hello. I just completed the first phase of the examination. Where are the dorms for the students who have yet to be admitted?" asked Michael, the old lady behind the counter.
"What's your examination number," she asked before answering his previous question.
"462," replied Michael.
"Very well. The dorms for the non-students are underground. Your examination number also represents the number of your dorm room. Here is the key," said the old lady while handing Michael the key to his dorm.
"Thank you," replied Michael.
"Your welcome," replied the old lady smiling at Michael.
Taking the key, he headed to the winding staircase which led to the underground dorms.
When he arrived underground, he was greeted by a large common room which was pretty much packed with all the students waiting for the exam's result. Some were anxious, others were casually chatting, and the contrast between the two groups was evident.
'How come I haven't seen Anne, John, or even the princess since coming to the academy?' thought Michael while leaving the common room, heading to his dorm, not wanting to mingle with any of the other students right now.
While he was trying to find his dorm room since someone was smart enough not to place the room in numerical order but, randomly, he sensed that someone was behind him following him. Turning around, he spotted Elina, the girl he didn't want to meet at this moment.
"Hey, Michael. I knew it was you," said Elina smiling at Michael.
"Hey, Elina," replied Michael, not wanting to start any conversation with her.
"I see you are struggling to find your room, let me help you," proposed Elina.
"Thank you," replied Michael
"What's your dorm number?" asked Elina.
"462."
"Ha, that's the room across of mine. What a coincidence," replied Elina with a happy tone
"Yeah, truly," he replied while a sigh escaped his mouth.
"Did the test not go well? Why are you sighing?" asked Elina.
"Ah no, it's just that I'm exhausted from the trip coming to the academy, and all the waiting in between," replied Michael.
"Understandable. I was like that too. So the test went well?" said Elina while guiding Michael to his dorm.
"Yeah, it went pretty well. It was not as hard as I thought," replied Michael, and they made some more small talk until they arrived outside his room.
"Thank you for guiding me here, Elina. I guess I'll see you tomorrow," said Michael turning around and opening the door to his room.
"It was nothing. You also helped me earlier. Anyway, see you tomorrow," replied Elina waving at Michael.
When Michael closed the door to his room, some pretty weird thoughts were running through Elina's mind,
'The black hair, the full, well-defined lips, the thick eyebrows, his long eyelashes, those blue almond-shaped eyes, and his perfect body that can't be hidden with the clothes.'
'Mmm, isn't he, perfect?'
'Shouldn't he, be mine?'
