Chapter 6 - Starting a Business While Still In My Hometown

The room was filled with young people. Although they were strangers to each other, as long as they had a common topic, they could still chat quickly. There was no shortage of common topics for young soldiers of this age. Almost all the young people in the room had played games, especially the most popular online games, such as DNF, CF, and even CS.

Thinking about it, it made sense. Wang Ye was a good student who loved to study. Why would he shave his hair to look like a labor offender and join the army? Soldiers, especially those who had joined the army, in a small county like this, were basically no college student. After all, it wasn't a university here. They were all a group of mischievous students who did not get into university or did not do well in the college entrance examination.

One after another, new recruits arrived. Wang Ye stayed for a while and learned that there was more than one barrack here. There were five or six barracks, and the new recruits would be brought to different rooms by officers from all over the country. In other words, if they stayed in the same room now, they would basically stay in the same large unit later on.

Time passed slowly. At 3:30 in the afternoon, a commotion suddenly came from the next room.

" Fuck you, even if I don't join the army today, I'll still beat you to death! "

"Well fuck you back, bang bang!"

"What's going on?"

"Damn, someone's fighting!"

Everyone in Wang Ye's living quarters was immediately stunned. In the next second, someone ran to the door. Wang Ye also stood up and ran over to see what was going on.

He was very curious about who had the guts to start a fight in the armed forces department in his hometown before even going to the army.

"What are you doing? What are you doing?" A soldier ran over as Wang Ye walked out of the barracks towards the door next door. The soldier shouted loudly, and soon more people came.

"Go back and stay in your own room!" someone from the armed forces shouted with a livid face. "Go back, go back!" They were embarrassed that soldiers were fighting at home before even setting off for their deployment. These soldiers were all hand-picked by them to be sent to the army.

Wang Ye and the others were chased back to the barracks. This time, Squad Leader Li was standing guard at the entrance.

However, inside the barracks, everyone was muttering softly.

"What's going on?"

"I don't know! Yan Zhiming, didn't you run fast to the other side? Did you see anything?"

"I'm not that much faster! I saw two people fighting inside, and then someone came!"

"Let's see if there's a chance to ask someone next door later!"

After some murmuring, everyone temporarily quieted down because they all wanted to hear the commotion outside. However, the commotion outside didn't let anyone hear much because the two recruits who were fighting were directly called away, and the others were not allowed to come out.

Even though everyone's curiosity was bursting, they had no way of finding out the details. At 4:30 pm, a lieutenant and a sergeant walked in. Squad Leader Li walked into the barracks with them.

"Roll call!" the first lieutenant spoke without any nonsense.

Squad Leader Li immediately shouted, "Let's start the roll call now. Whoever is called, step forward and answer. Do you understand?"

"Understood!" some said, while others remained silent. Squad Leader Li didn't say anything about this, and neither did the first lieutenant and the other squad leader.

Today, they were still in the hometown of these recruits, so they couldn't be too fierce. They didn't want to scare people. It would be funny if they cried and wanted to run. There would be opportunities in the future to teach them lessons properly in the future.

"Duan Kelin!"

"Here!"

"Li Kai!"

"Here!"

....

The roll call ended very quickly. In this barrack, there were a total of fourteen recruits.

After the roll call, the first lieutenant closed the register in his hand and looked at the two sergeants. "I'll leave the rest to you!"

The first lieutenant turned around and left, leaving the recruits feeling nervous.

After he left, the two sergeants immediately relaxed and smiled.

"Alright, everyone, don't be nervous. There's no training today. I'll just tell you some things to take note of on the road. In addition, I'll teach everyone to sing later to relax!"

This was what Squad Leader Li, whom Wang Ye knew, said. As soon as he finished speaking, the other veteran went to a bed and sat down.

"Come on, don't just stand there. Sit down on the bed. Let's chat."

....

That night, they had dinner at the armed forces. After dinner and singing "Unity is Strength" twice, the two class monitors took out a few poker cards. Of course, they couldn't gamble, so the loser would stick a note, squat, or sing and perform. The two squad leaders were kind and easily got along with everyone. Under their leadership, the ten or so recruits who were initially unfamiliar with each other quickly became familiar with each other.

After everyone became familiar with each other, they finally learned the reason for the fight from the two sergeants. It was said that the two of them had a grudge against each other and had fought before. This time, they happened to meet again in a barracks, exchanged a few greetings, and immediately got hot-blooded and started fighting.

"These two people might be forced to retreat. How dare they act so lawlessly and in such an undisciplined manner in the army. Fighting is a big or small matter, and today is only the first day. If you fight here, your local armed forces will lose face!" Squad Leader Li held a card in his hand.

Another officer who was playing cards with Wang Ye and the others at the table beside him also spoke up, "I don't know if they will retreat or not, but even if they don't, they will definitely be recorded in the small notebook when they enter the army. The new recruits will become the focus of attention, and they will definitely suffer a lot."

After saying this, he looked around at the crowd. "I know that some of you might have fought outside often in the past, but now that you're in the army, you don't want to suffer. It's best if you behave."

The recruits immediately pretended to be obedient babies when they saw his gaze. "Hehe, class monitor, we're not that stupid!"

"That's right, that's right!"

Squad Leader Li smiled. "It's good that you're not stupid. Alright, let's play cards. Everyone should take this as a warning. Let's not talk about this anymore!"

The game continued.

Wang Ye and the others sighed in their hearts after learning the reason for the fight. "These two people are really hot-tempered," Wang Ye commented. However, they didn't have too many thoughts about the matter, as they didn't know each other and weren't in the same barracks.

The game continued until nine o'clock, and then everyone washed up. The two squad leaders didn't leave and stayed in the barracks.
