"Ta ta ~"
The rain fell on some sandbags at the side, making a constant patter sound.
When they were eating, the rain had subsided for a while, but it started to rain heavily again a few minutes after they finished eating.
However, no one cared about this now. No one was even talking on the riverbank now.
One by one, the soldiers leaned against the wall and closed their eyes to rest. Some even laid on the ground and used the sandbags as pillows. The empty sandbags were used as mats, and they covered their faces with hats as they fell asleep.
They were all exhausted. Since they were out since yesterday morning, everyone had only slept for a total of three to four hours. The high-intensity work, the tense atmosphere, and the long hours really took a toll on them.
Now that they were full, everyone could not take it anymore. They were fighting with their eyelids.
