Chapter 50 - She's mine

Freen's PovI could hear the audience gasp as Nop whispered, "Ready yourself, Freen, your princess is here," and that sent me a feeling of unease. Curious about the likely reason for their reaction, I went into the crowd to see what was going on, but Nop grabbed my arm. With threatening eyes, Nop murmured quickly, "Don't; you must wait here. Trust me, Freen, you'll want to see this from a distance." Reluctantly, my heart continued to race with terror and anticipation. However, I later noticed the presence of the girl of my dreams, and I almost lost balance when I saw what she was wearing. This girl is going to kill me.I was kept upright by Nop holding my hip, but when I saw how much the men were swooning over Lady Rebecca, I became furious.''Relax, Freen. Those men are just enamored by her beauty, but she only has eyes for you," Nop reassured me with a smirk. Despite his words, jealousy still gnawed at me as I watched Lady Rebecca gracefully navigate the room.''You are a crazy man, Nop. Just tell me what this is all about. And release my mother already.'' Nop chuckled and released his grip on my hip, gesturing for me to follow him. "And where's the fun in that?" he said, smirking before leading me towards the grand ballroom, where my fate awaited.''How do you know about me being the flower girl , and how sure are you that she's into it? I am sure whatever you are plotting now is going to fail.'' I paused, feeling a sense of unease creeping in as Nop's smirk widened.'' Trust me, Freen, I know a lot more than you think. I have my own ways of gathering information, and I have never failed in my plans before,'' Nop replied confidently. With a sinking feeling in my stomach, I realized that Nop was not someone to be underestimated, and I needed to be prepared for whatever he had in store for me. But I couldn't back down now, not when my mother's freedom was at stake. With a deep breath, I followed him to where he was going.Rebecca's PoVI walked with pride, even though my knees were shaking. Nop may have been confident, but I was determined to outsmart him and save my Freen from whatever he was planning for her. As we walked, I focused on staying one step ahead and keeping my wits about me.But I saw how Freen glared in my direction and also saw how he put his dirty hands on Freen's hip, caressing it. I looked away, not wanting to see that.''What's wrong, Lady Rebecca? '' Irin asks, whispering by my side.''Nothing.'' I replied. What was that look? And why did she let him touch her that way? I am probably just imagining things; there is no way Nop will have a romantic interest in her, and most of all, there's no way Freen would feel the same. But the way they interacted made me feel uneasy, like there was something more going on beneath the surface. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was a secret between them that I wasn't privy to.''Rebecca! Can you explain to me what this nonsense is? ''My good father said it with his chest blocking my view.

Even before I could answer, he quickly put his jacket on me to cover what I was wearing.

He positioned his elbow, indicating that I held onto it, which I did. And he accompanied me to walk where my family was sitting-the rest of whom are said to be my fiancé.

Before I sat down with my family, I looked in the direction where Freen and Nop were standing earlier, but they were no longer there. I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach, realizing that Freen and Nop had disappeared. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.I look in Irin's direction, which stands not far from us, and she points out a sight I wish I hadn't seen in the corner. I saw how Nop kissed Freen on the lips. I don't know why, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from the scene. My heart sank as I realized the truth about Freen and Nop's relationship. I felt a wave of sadness wash over me as I realized that Freen and Nop were more than just friends. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me feeling betrayed and confused. But why would I feel this way? She's my friend, and he's my cousin.I should be glad they get along now.But why do I feel a twinge of jealousy creeping in?I tried to push the negative thoughts away, reminding myself that their happiness was what mattered most. However, deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease and jealousy that lingered within me. I knew I had to confront these emotions head-on and figure out why I was feeling this way before they consumed me completely. It was time to have an honest conversation with myself and address the root of my jealousy.''Rebecca, are you alright? ''My father asked, but my vision is blurry and my mind is clouded with conflicting emotions. I took a deep breath, forcing a smile as I replied, "I'm fine, just lost in thought." My father nodded, concern evident in his eyes, but he respected my need for space to work through my feelings. And they all continue talking, but my mind is still preoccupied with unraveling the complexities of my emotions. As the conversation around me fades into background noise, I focus on understanding and overcoming my jealousy.''Rebecca? '' A familiar masculine voice interrupted my thoughts, bringing me back to reality. I turned to see my cousin and Freen standing in front of me, concern etched on their faces. I knew I couldn't keep avoiding the conversation about my jealousy any longer, but I still smiled.''What is it, Nop? '' I ask, trying so hard not to make my voice squake.''Oh , I am sorry to interrupt your fantasy, but Nop here is announcing his interest in our servant Freen. Now if you are not busy enough daydreaming, my daughter, can you at least congratulate him for finally being a man? hahaha.'' My good father said.''What? '' I heard what my father said, but my head just can't process what he just said about Freen and Nop. My heart sank as I struggled to maintain my composure, feeling a mix of anger and hurt. I forced a smile and managed to mutter congratulations to Nop, all the while feeling a knot in my stomach.''Hahaha... Rebecca , my cousin, have you gone deaf too? '' Nop's laugh makes me sick, so I interrupted him. '' I know what you said. Did that mean you were going to marry her? ''And they laughed, and I saw how Freen looked down, feeling unease about it, like she already knew what she's in, and I was making it worse by confronting Nop. The tension in the room was palpable, and I knew this situation was far from over.''What ?! No?! Why would I marry her? '' And they all laughed again, but this time I can't force myself to do so. This asshole, what does he mean he will make her his sex slave?

''It's not going to happen.'' I said firmly.

''Why not? ''asked George, my demon fiance , raising an eyebrow. I took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to explain the situation without causing further tension in the table.''Because she's mine! ''------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A man in a fishing boat on the shore is fixing his net to prepare for the day's catch. The waves are calmly lapping against the boat. The seagulls are circling overhead, and the sun is just beginning to rise over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the water.''Somchai!! '' Shout's the man who is running towards the fisherman's boat. Somchai, the fisherman, looks at the man who is calling.''Chaiyot,'' Somchai replies, before turning back to his net. A sense of worry took over him as he saw the young man running towards him. '' Why are you running so early? Your wounds aren't healed yet,'' Somchai asks, his concern evident in his face.''Please, Somchai, let me go with you. I feel so weak staying home.'' Chaiyot pleads, and Somchai hesitates, knowing Chaiyot's injuries are still fresh. "I can't risk it, Chaiyot. You need to rest and heal," he says firmly, trying to protect the young man from further harm. Chaiyot's eyes fill with disappointment, but he knows Somchai is right.''Chaiyot, son, I know how you feel, but I already lost a son. I can't lose another by putting you in this boat. That would be painful for me, but more so for my wife; she'll die in sorrow. I know you are not ours, but finding you in the forest is a big help to my wife's recovery from losing our son. I can't let her go through that pain again. Please understand, Chaiyot," Somchai pleads, his voice filled with emotion. Chaiyot nods reluctantly, knowing that Somchai's love and concern for him are genuine and well-intentioned.Back at home, Chaiyot was lying on the porch floor, looking at the ceiling. His legs were hanging off the edge, swinging back and forth as he contemplated his next move. He knew that staying with Somchai and his wife would bring them comfort, but he also longed for the freedom of the forest where he had been found. He slowly tossed on his left, making his left arm his pillow. And then he sat up, looking at the shore, thinking why he felt something very important he should do, but he couldn't even recognize himself.''Chaiyot, son,'' an old woman approached the young man sitting on the porch. Chaiyot looked up to her. The woman caressed his shoulder and slowly sat with a sigh as her back hurt from doing such an action. ''What are you thinking, young man? You didn't pay attention to your lunch today,'' the old woman asked.Chaiyot looked at the woman.''It's nothing ,Naree. Nothing important.''''Okay, let's say I believe you.'' The woman said with a knowing smile. "But remember, sometimes what seems unimportant can hold great significance in the grand scheme of things," she added, patting his hand gently before getting up to go back inside. His eyes followed the woman inside and sigh. He is lucky to have these people around him, and it would be hard for him to just leave them behind because of his selfishness in wanting to know his true identity . He realized that his relationships with these people meant more to him than any answers about his past. With a newfound sense of gratitude, Chaiyot finished his lunch and joined Naree inside, feeling content in the present moment.
