Thousands of years ago, the Humans had appointed their first champion of their nation. His overwhelming strength belittled the existence of any other human who dared to call themself the strongest. He was called 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵.
A name that people to this day still remember.
Legend says that he had numerous achievements and one of his most famous ones being the total annihilation of the Demon King's forces. He alone wiped out each demon, one by one, magnificently slicing off their heads like it was Tuesday for him.
The only sound that remained on that bloody battlefield was the cry of weeping demons and the SLASH that happened not long after. This gruesome feat was what earned him the name of the 'Demon Ripper'.
To this day, his legacy had not been forgotten, passing down his talent to the next generation. Over time, however, his lineage had grown far too big to manage, resulting in the splitting of the family into the three, powerful, noble families that are known throughout the world.
The Steelhearts, Goldhearts and the Rubyhearts.
Each of these families were influential in their own right, with all of their children being powerful wizards or mages, and Naomi Steelheart was not an exception.
Flicking back her long ash-black hair, and revealing two, pretty silver eyes, Naomi stood up on the elevated platform and scanned the entire room.
"We will now proceed with the meeting." called out Naomi.
As the current hero of this generation, she had many duties and tasks burdened on her. Playing a vital role in the survival of humanity against the demons, she was given the role to act as the commander of the three families; almost like a general leading her army.
"I hear that there have been issues going on against this long war against the demons" she sighed, "What does everyone propose we do?"
"This war has been going on for too long..."
"WE MUST FIGHT THEM TO KEEP OUR PRIDE AS HUMANS!!"
"Is this really what we were called for..?"
"At this rate, I might as well just go join the other side..."
Within this room, was every single person who had an important connection to the Steelheart family. With a mass of people, it was only time until chaos and disorder erupted within the figures present. As soon as one voiced their own opinion, a current of other remarks barged through. In the midst of this pandemonium, Naomi carefully observed each and every one's face and body.
"Haaaa..."
𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘻𝘦. A trait passed down only within the Steelheart family. It was a skill which no ordinary human should be able to master.
At that moment, every single person in that room felt a minor tinge across their skin. The room felt eerily chilly, however, each person dismissed it as their own imagination. But what they failed to recognise, was the slight blueish hue emanating from Naomi's eyes.
Each twitch of the nose, each scratch they made on their body, and each tap they made with their foot was perceived by her. Nothing could escape her sight. This ability coupled with incredible intuition and deduction skills gives the possibility of near-perfect mind reading.
The way this terrifying ability was achieved, was through the spreading of one's magic, forcefully pushing out your own mana outside of your body to cover your surroundings.
While this might just sound simple, it was extremely difficult to put into practice, due to each mana particle having to be forcefully held at an even distance from each other, controlled by one's own willpower. If you were to fail, the mana particles would clump together, eventually being big enough to be recognised by someone else.
Even with these extreme potential consequences, Naomi did so at ease, demonstrating her monstrous magic control. This was the reason why she was crowned as humanity's champion.
"SILENCE!" erupted Naomi, drawing everyone's attention to herself.
"Before we begin deciding what to do, I would like to tell you all one thing."
Immediately once again, muttering began. People started deluding themselves, imagining what she might have to say. But before they could start discussing, Naomi continued, still with a blue haze in her eyes.
"There will come a day when a Steelheart will rise to power, someone much more powerful than you think. This person will rule the world, that much I can be sure of."
With just a few words, not even a pin drop could be heard. Everyone was completely stunned by the abrupt and unexpected statement. Chatter exploded within the vicinity. Some were shocked, some were furious, and some just thought by themself. Whether a person would be elated or irritated at the news, Naomi could see it all.
Those who were on her side, and those who would betray her - that was the real information she needed to find out.
Bit by bit, pieces of information flew into her brain, all fitting each other like a jigsaw. With just the information that someone was sweaty, she could deduce that the person might be nervous about being found out. Fitted together with the information that her memory could store, it became very easy to predict someone's next move.
Like this, in mere seconds, she had a full database of information, pertaining to each person present.
With no smile nor emotion on her face, the blue haze slowly dissipated into her pupils.
She silently walked out and left the room, deep in thought, and possibly tired from the large-scale magic spell she had cast.
"It seems that it is time that we prepare for war..."

As Naomi left, a person in a hooded cloak looked out from a building at least a kilometre away and chuckled a sinister laugh.
"That foolish little girl, after all this time, she still doesn't think things through... "
