After being rescued from the car, Amya was now being accompanied by Timothy to her house in his truck. The atmosphere in the truck was heavy, almost nearly suffocating due to the awkward silence that surrounded the two of them.
Amya was the first one to strike a conversation, with hope that the tense atmosphere will lighten up a little. " So how are you Timothy? It really has been a long time since you and I last saw each other. How have you been?" Asked Amya. " Well I have been keeping on. By the way what happened to you back there. How did things get out of control?" Asked Timothy. "Would you believe it if I say a deer?" Said Amya. " Oh I believe you alright. Those peskey creatures have been causing a lot of accidents lately and it is normally during this time of year that they roam around and cause disturbances", said Timothy. After about a moment of silence, Timothy then asked, "So how have you been? How is life in the big city huh?" "Well what can I say. Life in the city is tough but also great. You get to explore and learn new things so its also kind of fun", replied Amya. " Well I can imagine. Seeing you glowing like that clearly shows that things are working out for you. I also heard that you finally made it big. I heard that you finally got your dream job of being a personal assisant secretary in a big company. I guess congratulations are in order", said Timothy
"Thanks. I guess luck finally fell on my side. And I should congratulate you too. I can see that you now own your very own car rescue and mechanic garage that's really a big achievement", said Amya. " Thanks. It really is a big deal but not one of my greatest achievements", said Timothy in a solemn tone. "But why do you say that?" Asked Amya looking concerned. "What can I say, life has been greatly unfair to me. What I thought was going to be my greatest achievement slipped away from me. And my life has never been the same after the only one true thing I used to live for disappeared from my life. And left me shattered in pieces", replied Timothy.
Amya felt the heaviness of guilt crushing down on her. She knew very well the one thing that Timothy was talking about but she did not want to delve into it because a lot of unforgettable memories were attached to it. Due to that, the atmosphere in the truck became more awkward because now Amya did not know how to continue the conversation without delving into the past, which she clearly did not want to remember.
"I am sorry to hear that things were not working out for you. But .... I do hope that in the future... It will get better", said Amya.
" No. No. No. I don't think so... Well things were not always that bad as you can see, I now own my very own car rescue and mechanic garage which is not very bad and also business is booming. But..... I had imagined, a nice big house with a big lovely garden, with little Amyas and Timothys running around and playing, whilst you and I would be sitting down on a swing under the shade of a big tree, cuddling each other whilst watching them play. But hell (chuckling), it seems like I was the only one who had that dream and clearly you did not!" Said Timothy in a bitter tone.
Amya could literally feel her chest twisting in pain due to the guilt that she felt for having hurt Timothy like that in the past. But what could she have done, when she did not have a choice in the matter and also how can she make Timothy understand that the dreams he had about them were not the same dreams that she had. Although, she knew that the decision that she made was a little bit selfish but she still felt it was right. And she also knew that she had to face Timothy one day and explain to him what happened for her to make that selfish decision and finally close that chapter between them once and for all.
Amya was jolted out of her thoughts when she felt the truck slow down. She looked outside the window and realized that they were now entering into town, and she saw a large billboard sign stretched across the road reading ' WELCOME TO MEDLEY TOWN". "Welcome back home my sweet *Belle*" said Timothy whilst looking at Amya. Amya just turned around and looked at him and she felt that this holiday was going to be truly enticing.
