Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

HUNT DOWN THE STRONGEST MONSTER IN THE WORLD]

[SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION WILL GRANT YOU UNIMAGINABLE POWER]

[FAILURE WILL RESULT IN THE COLLAPSE OF YOUR UNIVERSE]

Max's heart raced as he read the message. He knew that the stakes were incredibly high, but the promise of gaining unimaginable power was too great to resist.

Max felt a chill run down his spine as he read the message from the System Owner. Hunt down the strongest monster in the world? The task seemed impossible, and the stakes were incredibly high. The thought of his universe ceasing to exist was too much to bear. But Max knew he had no choice. He had come too far to turn back now.

He took a deep breath and tried to steady his nerves. The message had given him the location of the monster - a secluded cave deep in the heart of the forest. He would have to venture into unknown territory and face dangers he had never encountered before.

Max prepared himself as best he could. He gathered supplies and equipped himself with the best gear he could afford. He trained relentlessly, determined to be as ready as possible for the upcoming battle. But no amount of training could prepare him for what lay ahead.

As he made his way through the forest, Max could feel the weight of the task bearing down on him. He was alone, and the silence of the forest was unnerving. But he pushed on, driven by the knowledge that he had to succeed.

After hours of searching, he finally came across the cave. The entrance was dark, and Max could sense the presence of the monster within. He took a deep breath and stepped inside.

The cave was large, and Max could barely see his surroundings. He fumbled for his torch and lit it, illuminating the space around him. As he moved further into the cave, the air grew thick with the stench of decay. Max could feel his heart racing as he moved closer to his target.

Suddenly, he heard a deep rumble, and the ground shook beneath his feet. Max's heart skipped a beat as he realized that the monster was awakening. He braced himself for the battle ahead, readying his weapons and focusing his mana.

The monster emerged from the darkness, towering over Max. Its eyes glowed with a sinister red light, and its skin was covered in thick, impenetrable scales. Max felt a surge of fear, but he forced himself to remain calm. He knew that he had to give it his all if he wanted to succeed.

The battle was intense, and Max fought with all his might. His weapons bounced off the monster's scales, and his spells seemed to have no effect. But he refused to give up. He continued to fight, even as his body grew weak and his mind grew tired.

Hours passed, and the battle continued. Max was determined to emerge victorious, but as the sun began to rise, he realized that he was losing the fight. The monster was too strong, and he was too weak.

Max's mind was clouded, and he felt as though he was losing control. It was then that he realized that the System was affecting his mind. The more he fought, the more he felt a dark pleasure in the violence. He could feel the power of the System coursing through his veins, and he realized that it was slowly but surely making killing fun.

He tried to resist, to push back against the darkness, but it was too late. He had already succumbed to the power of the System.

Max laughed maniacally as he launched a final attack on the monster. He knew that he was going to die, but he didn't care. He was enjoying the battle too much.

In the end, the monster fell, and Max emerged victorious. But he knew that he had lost something far more valuable. He had lost his humanity.

As Max embarked on his quest to hunt down the strongest monster in the world, his mind began to change. He felt a growing sense of power and exhilaration with each kill, and the thrill of battle became an addiction. He no longer felt remorse for his actions, and his once kind-hearted nature was slowly eroding away.

As he traveled through various universes, Max encountered new dangers and challenges that tested his strength and resolve. He battled vicious beasts, cunning demons, and even other hunters like himself, all in the name of completing his quest.

Through it all, Max learned that the gods truly existed and that they were watching his every move. They were pleased with his progress, but they also warned him of the consequences of failure. If he failed to complete his quest, not only would his universe be destroyed, but all others as well.

Despite the warnings, Max continued on his path of destruction, fueled by his lust for power and the thrill of the hunt. He no longer cared about the consequences of his actions or the lives he took along the way.

However, one day, everything changed. Max lost all of his memories, and his powers were sealed away. He found himself in a strange new world, surrounded by unfamiliar faces and places.

Confused and disoriented, Max struggled to piece together his past and understand why he had been stripped of his powers. But as he delved deeper into his memories, he began to realize the true extent of his actions and the consequences they had brought upon himself and those around him.

Haunted by his past, Max resolved to redeem himself and make amends for his past sins. He began a journey of self-discovery, seeking out new allies and confronting old enemies as he tried to regain his lost powers and make things right.

But as he delved deeper into his quest for redemption, Max realized that the path to forgiveness was a long and treacherous one, filled with danger and uncertainty. He would have to confront his inner demons and face the consequences of his actions, no matter how painful or difficult they may be.

In the end, Max knew that he had to face his past and his mistakes head-on if he was ever to truly move on and find the redemption he sought. And so, with a heavy heart and a newfound sense of purpose, he set out on a new journey, one that would test him in ways he could never have imagined, and ultimately lead him to the truth about himself and the world around him.

Max woke up with a throbbing headache and a sense of disorientation. He tried to remember what had happened, but his mind was blank. He looked around and realized that he was in an unfamiliar place. The room was dark and damp, and he could hear the sound of dripping water. He tried to stand up, but his legs felt weak and unsteady.

As he stumbled around the room, he noticed that his body was covered in scars and bruises. He wondered how he had gotten them and why he couldn't remember anything. Suddenly, he heard a voice behind him.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Max," the voice said. Max turned around and saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was a woman with long, flowing hair and piercing blue eyes. She wore a white gown that seemed to glow in the darkness.

"Who are you?" Max asked, still feeling disoriented.

"I am Nyx, the goddess of the night," the woman said with an almost lifeless voice but it wasn't for long she couldn't hold her anger anymore "And you, Max, are a danger to the universe " said Nyx with a hint of anger in her voice.

Max was taken aback by her words. "What do you mean by that?" he asked with his guard up.

"You have become a slaughterer, Max," Nyx said. "You have killed countless beings across multiple universes. Your powers were too great for you to control, and you lost yourself to the thrill of the hunt. The gods have decided that you must be stopped."

Max's curiosity was killed with those words and it almost felt boring listening anymore. He knew she had more to say so he stayed silent. He had no memory of any of this. "so, what are you going to do to me?" he asked with a mocking tone.

"We have sealed your powers and wiped your memories," Nyx said and started to slowly disappear. "You are no longer a threat to the universe, but you must never regain your powers again. If you do, we will have no choice but to destroy you."

Max felt a surge of anger and frustration. He couldn't believe that his life had turned out like this. He had lost everything just because of some useless Gods' decision, and now he was nothing but a shell of his former self.

As Nyx disappeared into the shadows. He didn't know what his future held, but he knew that it would never be the same again.

Max wandered aimlessly in the unfamiliar world, with nothing but his tattered clothes and a nagging sense of anger. He had no idea who he was, where he came from, or what he was supposed to do but the anger guided him.

As he walked, he noticed that he was attracting attention from the locals. Some were curious, others were wary, and a few seemed outright hostile. Max didn't blame them - he must have looked like a complete stranger in their world.

Suddenly, he heard a voice in his mind. It was a faint whisper at first, but it grew stronger with each passing moment. The voice sounded familiar, like an old friend he hadn't spoken to in years.

"Max," the voice said. "Can you hear me?"

[ A/N: A masculine voice]

Max paused and looked around, but he saw no one nearby. "Who's there?" he asked aloud.

"It's me," the voice replied. "Your system. You remember me, don't you?"

Max frowned, trying to place the voice. "System? What system?"

"The one that gave you your powers," the voice said. "The one that made you into a god."

Max felt a jolt of confusion. "I'm a god?!"

"You were," the voice corrected. "But you're not anymore. Your powers have been sealed, and your memories have been erased. But I'm still here, Max. I'm still a part of you."

Max shook his head, trying to make sense of it all. "Why would my powers be sealed? Who did this to me?"

"That's a long story," the voice said. "But the short version is that you became too powerful. You were a danger to others. So the origin Gods intervened and took away your powers."

Max felt a surge of anger. "The gods? They had no right to do that!"

"They had every right," the voice countered. "You were a threat to the balance of the universe. You were killing indiscriminately, without regard for the consequences."

Max felt a sickening feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Killing? What are you talking about?"

The voice hesitated. "Max, I need you to be honest with yourself. Do you remember what you did when you had your powers?"

Max closed his eyes, trying to remember. But all he could see were flashes of violence and bloodshed. He couldn't remember the details, but he knew that he had killed countless beings in the pursuit of power.

"I...I don't remember," Max admitted. "But I don't believe that I could do something like that."

"You did," the voice said. "And now you have to face the consequences of your actions. You have to find a way to redeem yourself, Max. To make amends for what you've done."

Max felt overwhelmed by the weight of his past mistakes. He didn't know if he could ever make things right. But he knew that he had to try.

"I'll do whatever it takes," Max said. "To make things right. To find a way to bring back my powers, and to use them for good this time."

The voice was silent for a moment. Then it spoke, with a note of caution in its tone. "Be careful, Max. The path ahead of you is dangerous. There are other universes out there, with their own dangers and their own gods. You may not be ready to face them yet."

Max nodded, taking in the warning. He knew that he had a long journey ahead of him. But he was determined to see it through, no matter what lay ahead.

Max's mind was clouded, but the power he held was undeniable. He relished the feeling of taking the lives of beings from other universes, and the more he killed, the more he craved it.

Despite his enjoyment, a small voice in his head begged him to stop, to regain control of himself. But Max ignored it, reveling in his newfound power and the fear it instilled in others.

As he walked through the destroyed city, Max could feel the weight of his actions settling heavily on his shoulders. He tried to push the thoughts away, but they kept resurfacing, nagging at him.

Suddenly, Max heard a voice calling out to him from the distance. He turned to see a figure approaching him, but he couldn't make out their face. As the figure got closer, Max realized that it was a woman, her features obscured by the shadows.

"Who are you?" Max asked, his voice cold and detached.

"I am someone who can help you," the woman replied, her voice soft and soothing. "But you must come with me."

Max hesitated, unsure of what to do. He knew he needed help, but he also knew that he couldn't trust anyone, especially not in his current state.

"Come with me," the woman repeated. "I can help you regain control."

With a deep breath, Max followed the woman into a nearby building, his mind racing. As he walked through the corridors, he couldn't help but feel a sense of deja vu, as if he had been here before.

The woman led him to a small room, where Max was surprised to see a group of people waiting for him. They introduced themselves as members of a resistance movement against the gods, and they had been watching Max's actions for some time.

"Your powers are a danger to everyone," one of the members said. "But we believe that you can be saved. You just need to be willing to fight back against the gods who have done this to you."

Max listened intently, his mind still foggy. But as the members spoke, he felt a small spark of hope ignite within him. Maybe, just maybe, he could regain control of himself and put an end to the destruction he had caused.

As the meeting ended, Max left the building, his mind racing with thoughts and emotions he couldn't quite understand. But one thing was clear: he needed to find a way to regain his memories and control his powers before it was too late.

Max stood there, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of the people he had just killed. He felt a rush of pleasure as he looked down at them, relishing in the fact that he had taken their lives so easily. He tried to put his thoughts together, to understand why he had done this, but nothing came to him. He couldn't remember anything, not even his own name.

As he stood there, lost in thought, he noticed something strange happening around him. The air seemed to be thickening, and the ground beneath his feet began to tremble. Suddenly, he felt a powerful force surging through his body, as if his very essence was being awakened.

With a loud crack, Max's vision went white, and when he came to, a window appeared before him. It was as if the world had suddenly revealed itself to him, and he could see everything with perfect clarity.

The window displayed his name as "Max Blanc," and his title was "The One Who Commits Genocide." He was shocked by this, but at the same time, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction. It was as if he had finally found his true purpose in life.

He looked at his status and saw that his Strength was 27, his Agility was 51, and his Intelligence was 34. He also noticed that there was a new class listed as "Void Assassin," but it was currently locked. He didn't know what it meant, but he was sure he would find out soon enough.

Max started to laugh, and it grew louder and louder until he was laughing like a maniac. He felt a newfound power within him, and he knew that nothing could stand in his way. He shouted out to the gods, promising to destroy them and everything they stood for.

As he laughed, he noticed something else happening. The bodies of the people he had just killed began to disintegrate into ash, as if they were never there. Max was confused by this, but he didn't care. He knew that he was now a force to be reckoned with, and he couldn't wait to see what lay ahead for him.

Just when he was about to leave a new screen appeared in front of his eyes.

As soon as the notification appeared, Max felt a rush of excitement and joy that he couldn't contain. He threw his head back and let out a laugh that echoed throughout the chamber. The sound of his own laughter was almost deafening, but Max didn't care. He felt a sense of power he had never felt before, like he was now the master of his own destiny. Looking around him, Max took in his surroundings. He was standing in the center of a large, circular chamber with towering walls that stretched up to the ceiling, which was so high that he couldn't see it. The walls were made of a strange, iridescent material that shimmered in the dim light that filled the room. Max took a few steps forward, feeling the soft, spongy ground beneath his feet. He looked down and realized that he was standing on some kind of glowing, pulsing substance that seemed to be alive. It gave off a faint, eerie light that cast strange shadows on the walls. Suddenly, Max heard a voice in his head. It was a cold, mechanical voice that seemed to come from all around him. "Welcome, Max Blanc. I am the System Administrator. With the death of the previous Administrator, the system now belongs entirely to you." Max grinned even wider. "Thank you," he said aloud. "Thank you for giving me this power." "You have a lot of potential, Max Blanc," the voice continued. "You have already shown that you are capable of great things. But be warned, with great power comes great responsibility. You must use this power wisely, or suffer the consequences." Max scoffed at the warning. "I don't care about consequences," he said. "I'll do whatever I want. And I'll start by destroying the gods who dared to send me to this world." The voice was silent for a moment before responding. "I cannot condone violence against the gods. However, I will not stop you from pursuing your goals. The system is now yours to use as you see fit." Max grinned, feeling a sense of triumph. He had always been an outcast, an object of scorn and ridicule. But now he had the power to take on the entire world and win. As he stood there, basking in his newfound power, Max knew that he had to start planning his next move. He had to find a way to take down the gods, to prove his dominance and show them that they had made a grave mistake by underestimating him. But for now, he was content to revel in his victory. The world was his for the taking, and he was ready to claim it.
