Chapter 41 - Ch 41. Yukinoshita Haruno's Decision

Since Hoshimi enrolled, his guardian had already called her twice, asking about his school situation and instructing her to notify them immediately if anything unusual occurred.

But was this current situation considered unusual?

Honestly, it wasn't. In Japan, high school relationships were common. After all, 18 was the legal marriage age, and many students married immediately after graduation.

In such a social environment, high school relationships weren't considered unusual.

Moreover, their school had no explicit rules regarding this; it was neither forbidden nor encouraged. As long as it wasn't overly excessive, the school wouldn't interfere.

"Phew~~"

Hiratsuka Shizuka exhaled a cloud of white smoke.

After some careful thought, she decided not to inform Hoshimi's guardian just yet.

She'd first inform Haruno, who would undoubtedly investigate Hoshimi and Yukinoshita's situation.

Once everything was confirmed to be fine, she'd notify Hoshimi's guardian.

However, she had to warn Haruno not to do anything excessive, given that Hoshimi wasn't someone easy to deal with.

With this in mind, Hiratsuka immediately took out her phone and dialed Yukinoshita Haruno's number.

Soon, the call connected, and Haruno's sly, slightly cunning voice came through the receiver.

"Moshi Moshi~ Shizuka, what's up?"

"Phew~" Hiratsuka took a drag of her cigarette and said calmly, "It's good news, about your sister."

"Oh? Really? Tell me more, Shizuka~"

In college, Haruno, taking the call outside her classroom, asked with great interest.

"Your sister is in a relationship, dating someone." Hiratsuka stated flatly.

"..."

Silence. A long silence. Apart from the faint sound of breathing, there was nothing else.

Hiratsuka wasn't in a hurry. She finished her cigarette, lit another, and waited for Haruno's reaction.

"Ahaha~ Shizuka, are you joking?" After a long while, Haruno laughed and asked.

"No." Hiratsuka looked out the window, coincidentally spotting Hoshimi at the vending machine choosing a drink.

She watched Hoshimi, her gaze following him as he moved.

"Who is it?" Haruno asked calmly.

"Hoshimi Kiyokawa, a transfer student who just joined our class." Hiratsuka watched as Hoshimi bought a coconut water and strolled leisurely around the school.

"I see. Thanks, Shizuka. I'll treat you to a meal next time." Haruno's voice returned to its usual sly and carefree tone.

"No need for the meal. I want to remind you of something." Watching Hoshimi disappear around the corner of the school building, Hiratsuka seriously warned, "Haruno, Hoshimi Kiyokawa's family background is complicated. It's best not to use any underhanded methods."

"Eh? Shizuka, what are you talking about? How could I do anything to my future brother-in-law? You're overthinking."

"Is that so? Anyway, I've warned you. Be careful. I'm hanging up."

"Okay~ Bye, Shizuka~"

"Beep--Beep--Beep--"

The call ended, and Hiratsuka extinguished her cigarette, returned to her desk, and continued reading the manga she had bought yesterday.

Meanwhile, Haruno put away her phone, smiling and pondering.

Hoshimi Kiyokawa. This name sounded familiar. Where had she heard it before?

Haruno searched her memory...

Hoshimi... Hoshimi... Ah, it's him!

Haruno remembered Hoshimi Kiyokawa's background.

A year ago, at a prominent figure's funeral, she had seen Hoshimi Kiyokawa.

At that time, Hoshimi Kiyokawa had knelt in the mourning hall with a gloomy expression, radiating an aura of "misfortune."

The reason for his state was simple: the funeral was for his parents.

Hoshimi Kiyokawa's father, Hoshimi Takuya, and mother, Hoshimi Hitomi, had tragically died in a plane crash.

Hoshimi Takuya was a significant figure, rising from humble beginnings to great prominence.

Takuya, a law graduate from the University of Tokyo, entered the stock market with his first million yen earned from a lawsuit. In just ten years, he made billions of yen without a single loss.

This earned him the title of Japan's next "stock god" after Yosuke Isokawa.

Leveraging his reputation, Takuya gained significant shares in top venture capital firms through performance-linked agreements, becoming a notable figure in Japan's financial sector.

He established extensive connections across various circles, becoming a masterful networker.

Given Takuya's capabilities, he could have firmly entrenched the Hoshimi name among Japan's elite within a few decades.

Unfortunately, Takuya died shortly after his 41st birthday, along with his wife in the plane crash.

After Takuya's death, rumors abounded about Hoshimi Kiyokawa's future, as many eyed his substantial inheritance, particularly the valuable shares in top venture capital firms.

Initially, there were rumors that the Fujiwara family wanted to adopt Kiyokawa as a son-in-law, followed by similar rumors about the Kujo and Shinomiya families.

Eventually, the dust settled, and the Arisugawa family, one of the Four Great Families, gained custody and guardianship of Kiyokawa.

Although they only had guardianship, it was likely that Kiyokawa would eventually become an adopted son or son-in-law, given the effort the Arisugawa family put in.

Yukinoshita Haruno thought similarly. The Arisugawa family's true goal was undoubtedly Takuya's inheritance.

"Hoshimi Kiyokawa..." Haruno muttered, her smile taking on a dangerous edge.

If she remembered correctly, the Arisugawa family had a daughter, making Kiyokawa's future path clear.

In this context, Kiyokawa dating her sister was unexpected.

It seemed she needed to thoroughly investigate the situation.
