I am not in love with her
He says
But you see the love dripping from his eyes as he speaks,
He looks down to his feet
And turn his eyes away to hide his lie
He is just a friend
She assures
But you see the way she glances to side in a daze,
In a dream,
Memories must dance in her head from the look on her face
Anyone could see it,
The way his name rolled off her soft pink lips like honey,
How he looked into her eyes like she held his heart in her hands
But when they laughed,
This unveiled their lie and proclaimed their secret truth in plain sight
To them they were hidden to all,
But themselves in their moments of laughter
Filled with only the sound of each other's joy
He would clutch his stomach and gasp
She would poke his cheek and giggle more
Anyone could see it,
They were so very in love with each other
But anyone did not include either of them

Daisy's curiosity and slight irritation over Edward's actions prompted her to approach him. She stopped beside his desk, raising an eyebrow as she questioned, "What did you just do?"
Edward met her gaze, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. He adjusted himself in his seat casually before replying, "Just what needed to be done, perhaps a bit excessively."
Daisy's expression flickered between confusion and a mix of emotions she couldn't quite decipher. On the surface, she maintained her calm demeanor, but inside, her heart was a whirlwind. She felt a surge of gratitude for Edward's protective stance, and yet there was also a twinge of embarrassment that he had stirred such a scene.
The two of them settled back into their respective seats as the class continued. However, it was evident that Edward's actions had captured the attention of their classmates. Whispers and glances followed him, and Daisy could sense the curiosity and admiration directed toward him.
Sitting next to Anna and other girls who were discussing Edward's actions, Daisy found herself blushing under the spotlight. She was uncomfortable with all the attention, even though she understood their fascination with Edward's character. She had to admit, the way he had intervened did make her feel special.
In the midst of the discussions, Daisy felt a familiar pair of eyes on her. When she turned, she saw Edward giving her a reassuring nod. She reciprocated with a subtle nod of her own, and their silent exchange carried a depth of understanding between them. As Edward's lips curved into a smirk, Daisy couldn't help but smile too, realizing that his display of possessiveness was not just for show – it was a gesture of his care and protection, even if it did cause a bit of a stir.
As the class settled into the routine, all eyes were on the instructor who was discussing the topics for the upcoming term. Anna leaned in and murmured in Daisy's ear, "Hey, you know he's looking at you."
Daisy, caught off guard, turned to glance at Edward, who winked at her playfully. She blushed, feeling a sudden rush of affection. "Aww, Daisy, you're turning into a tomato," Anna teased, amused by Daisy's reaction.
The teacher seemed to notice Anna's laughter and playfully addressed her, "Miss Anna, I truly hope you have something very interesting to share so that we can all have a good laugh."
Anna blushed even redder, and Daisy chuckled softly. The class's attention shifted to the classroom door as it suddenly swung open, revealing Marcel.
"Okay, Marcel, right on time. We're all just twenty minutes ahead of you, but it's nice that you managed to arrive on schedule," the teacher quipped, causing the entire class to burst into laughter. Anna took the opportunity to quickly take her seat, knowing that when Marcel's attention shifted to someone else, the first one was free.
Marcel, irritated by the remark, shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Yeah, well, that's convenient. Now I'll take a seat."
"Sure thing, young man," the teacher responded with a touch of sarcasm.
Marcel brushed off the sarcastic remarks, stifled a laugh, and settled into his seat, which happened to be next to Daisy.
Edward feigned exasperation the moment he sat down next to Daisy, but there seemed to be a sense of relief in his demeanor. The class was dismissed shortly after, with an assignment given. The teacher explained that they needed to jot down their details, including their names, grades, interests, and future career preferences. This information would be used to assign them to groups and committees for the upcoming entrance exams and degree programs discussions.
"Good luck to all of you, and bye for now," the teacher concluded before leaving.
The class filed out of the room and headed to the administration block to collect the required forms. It was a busy day ahead, but the companionship of each other seemed to make it more manageable for both Daisy and Edward.
Amidst everyone engaged in discussing their projects with one another, Edward found himself fixated on observing Marcel, who was seated next to Daisy, quietly watching her.
Meanwhile, Daisy and Anna were deep in conversation about their plans. "So, what are your aspirations, Daisy?" Anna inquired.
"I wanted to go into the medical field," Daisy replied meekly.
"Wow, that's amazing. I also wanted to pursue a medical career."
"What? That's incredible. We'll be together in that case," Daisy responded with excitement. The two of them were discussing their tentative plans when Daisy felt a tap on her shoulder.
Looking up, she was met with Edward's vacant gaze. "I wanted to talk to you," Daisy simply squinted and replied.
Leaving the classroom, Daisy and Edward reached the rooftop. They settled on a bench next to the railings. "So, what did you want to discuss, Edward?" Daisy asked in a casual tone.
"I wanted to go into the business field," Edward answered, his gaze wandering as he addressed Daisy.
Daisy looked at him intently and then encouraged him, saying, "Well, that's great. You should go for it."
"Anyway," Edward continued, "What about you?"
"What about me?" Daisy queried.
"You," Edward emphasized.
"Me? What do you mean?" Daisy asked, puzzled.
"Well, you," Edward responded.
"Me? I wanted to become a doctor," Daisy said.
"I knew it. I just..." Edward stopped, causing Daisy to shift her sitting position.
"What? What's bothering you, Edward? And how did you know I wanted to be a doctor? I never discussed it with you or anyone in class," Daisy questioned.
"It's just that I knew it. You seemed like the type from the start, always so interested in medical sciences. And what's bothering me is..." Edward mumbled and stopped again.
"Oh, come on, tell me, Edward," Daisy encouraged.
"Are you okay with this?" Edward murmured loud enough for Daisy to hear.
"With what?" Daisy inquired.
"Me pursuing a different field than yours?" Edward raised the topic.
"With what?" Daisy raised an eyebrow and then asked before placing her hand on top of Edward's, reassuringly adding, "It's your future, Edward. You can do whatever you want, and honestly, I'll support you."
It's the way Edward's eyes sparkle as he wanted to say,
♡
I will always recall,
How your eyes said,
I love you,
When your mouth,
Stung with nerves
♡
"Well, thanks to you, Daisy, that's reassuring," Edward exhaled smoothly.
"Really, my obsession with medical sciences is that obvious?" Daisy chuckled to herself.
"Nah, it's just that I've noticed a lot of things about you from the beginning," these words left Daisy momentarily frozen. After snapping out of her daze, she stood up and moved closer to the railings, with Edward following behind her. "Edward," Daisy spoke, her gaze fixed ahead.
Edward softly murmured, indicating for her to continue. "Why do different choices matter? You should see yourself as that's what I've learned from you, so why did you ask me?" Daisy questioned calmly.
"You're not just anyone, Daisy. I don't really care about other people's opinions, but yours," Daisy glanced at him briefly and then gave him an inquisitive look.
"Okay, you wanted to know the reason?" Edward asked sincerely. Daisy simply nodded, urging Edward to go on, although inside she was feeling a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Edward smiled gently at her and replied,
"In this, Daisy, I was wondering why I noticed those specific details about you. The more I think about it, the more I'm amazed by you. You really bring out the best in me." As Edward spoke, he realized what Daisy might be thinking, and he looked at her with a soft smile, encouraging her to continue.
Daisy was contemplating why he paid such close attention to her. The more she thought about it, the more impressed she became with him. He seemed to bring out qualities in her that she didn't even realize she had. Meanwhile, Edward simply smiled as he understood Daisy's thoughts. He gazed gently at her, silently encouraging her to share her perspective.
"Your perspective matters, Daisy. You matter. In all honesty, you are…" Edward leaned in slightly to bring his head down to Daisy's level, and her heart raced in her chest. He then continued,
"You are my future."
The words made butterfly erupt into her stomach, dancing at the thoughts as she recalls the "Soul mate poem" by N. R. Hart.

Our eyes made love to each other long beforehand...
You were something that felt so new.
Yet so similar to me,
Like a place I have never been but somehow never left.
I think I have known you my whole life and loved you awhile longer
