After what seemed like a long time.
Max woke up and found himself on the ground in a pool of his sweat.
Looking around, he noticed that there is nothing wrong with his body and that he is still in one piece after all of this pain.
Looking at the room that should be destroyed by the space crack, he noticed that the room was as clean as it can be.
The only dirty place is where he is currently lying.
"Ugh."
"What the hell happened," Max just groaned silently and held his head from pain.

Suddenly he heard a feminine voice in his head that looked slightly robotic.
"Huh?"
"Who?" Max got startled and looked around warily, as he remembered that he heard a similar voice before he lost consciousness.
[Master, I am going to be your assistant from now on, in your journey in using Lineage Ascension System]
"The lineage what now?" Max was totally bewildered.
[The Lineage Ascension System] the voice repeated again.
"What's that?"
"No, first who are you?"
[I don't have a name Master, my only job is to assist you in using the System and help you understand its abilities]

Max just stayed silent for a few seconds to collect his thoughts.
"Then, can I give you a name for now, so it can be easier to converse with you?" asked Max after thinking if he is going to converse with the being in his head, then it is better to give it a name.
[Yes, Master. You can] replied the System but with a small hint of emotions that Max simply didn't notice.
Hmm…
"What about Lina?" I asked after thinking for a few seconds.
[That is a perfect name, Master]
"Okay, that solves the name's problem for now."
"Can you tell me what is the function of the System?"
Of course, Max isn't an ignorant person, living in a supernatural world is bound to make one experience all kinds of strange things.
And although Max is a vampire, that doesn't mean he is different from the humans living out there while living their lives.
So of course, Max has read dozens of Stories and has watched a lot of shows that always show that the Main Character would get a system that would help him grow stronger than his peers and at a faster rate.
So although, he has an idea about the System, that didn't mean he isn't going to ask and keep looking blindingly when there is someone with him that can help him.

What Lina just said is simply outrageous, how could there be something out there that can help a vampire reach the level of a Progenitor?

As the years passed, the occurrence of Progenitors gradually dwindled, leaving many with mere speculations and assumptions as to the cause of such a phenomenon. Nonetheless, the desire to obtain a Progenitor-level bloodline remained a coveted aspiration among those of lesser bloodlines, and the emergence of the Lineage Ascension System provided a glimmer of hope for those seeking to transcend their limitations.
Since the Original 8 Progenitors got Devoured, it was like the Universe stopped giving birth to a vampire with a new lineage for some reason.
Of course, the reason for such a thing is pretty simple.
Giving birth to a new Progenitor means giving birth to a new bloodline, with new abilities different from the one that came before it.
That would in the hypothetical scenario if such a thing happened would give The Devourer something new to devour since all that is remaining in the Universe right now, are just by-products of the past, so they are simply not worthy from the Universal Will point of view.
Of course, if Will heard the Universal Will's reason for such a thing, he would have laughed his ass off, as Will has already reached the limit of what his bloodline can reach in this realm. So, nothing here in this Universe can help him grow stronger than he already is.
But of course, all of this has nothing to do with Max, as all Max knew is that the original 8 Progenitors disappeared into thin air and because a lot of people decided to remove the name of The Devourer from the history and simply made him a taboo existence, so there was no mention of his name in the records for Max to know the real reason of the Progenitors disappearance.
Back to Max.
Lena sensed his disbelief since she is connected to him through their souls but she just continued her explanation.

Seeing that Lena became silent, I fell into my thoughts.
Although I had a lot of things I want to question for now, I decided to ask a few important questions and then later would clear my doubts.
"Then, who can create such a heaven-defying technology?"

I got confused by Lena's answer.

What does she mean by Supreme Being and Transcending the Universe?
Although Max is considered a waste in the Ashrend House, that doesn't change the fact that he is the heir of the clan for now unless his father decided to give the title to any of his other half-siblings.
So being the heir, he has a lot of access to a lot of secret records in the library of their House and being one of the Original 8 Houses, means that their Library is filled with all kinds of information that is not known to a lot of people out there.
So hearing about some kind of Supreme Being that can leave our Universe and create something like this made me very confused.
Since this is something that seemed important, I decided to ask now.
"What do you mean Supreme being? And what does it mean to Transcend the Universe?" I asked with confusion evident in my tone.
[That is a piece of classified information, Master]
Before I can ask what she means, Lena immediately cut me off with her next sentence.
[I can only tell you when you are stronger]
Thinking of her words just now, I realized that she has a point, as what does it matter if I know who the maker of the system is now?
I will eventually learn when the time is right.
But now I have a more important question.

"Why did the System choose me? Or the Supreme Being behind the System?"
