The 2 people continued walking and eventually made it into the nearby forest. At this time, this forest was also completely quiet and the only noises were an odd tweet of an owl or the quick strides of a rabbit.
The area was made of tall pine trees with several plants littered across the grass below. The moonlight pierced through the gaps in the landscape to give an enchanting, mystical atmosphere.
After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at some random gate. The gates were short and lead underground to an old, wooden door.
"What is this?" Brandyn asked as he approached the gate.
"It's what we call an outpost. The government thinks this place is abandoned since we empty out of here every now and again."
As they both approached the door, there was a special device that kept the two doors locked together. However, once he placed his hand across that door, it glowed in a futuristic green colour and make a click to open the doors.
At the door, stood someone else who was 5'8 and had tattoos laid all across his arms. One of his eyeballs were completely black too, which made him have quite the intimidating look.
"What are we even doing here?" Brandyn asked in a quiet tone.
"It's where I'll assign you a mission. We do work in here for a while before leaving to another place. Just wait." He explained as they entered this abandoned dungeon.
There was a slightly penetrating stench that was in the background of each breath that Brandyn took. Above them was a single working light, only working because they had a generator beside it to keep it running. This dungeon had cages beside them, with rusted bars and the floors of the dungeons were covered in a rather repulsive dust.
Ahead of them was a small room, which seemed to have been slightly renovated. The majority of the rust across the walls had just been simply removed and once they entered this place, the previously unpleasant smell had almost completely vanished.
In the centre of the room was a table and on that table was a laptop, which shone with a projected screen.
*whoosh*
Out of no where, the man began to work on the laptop and he seemed quite, even though he had just started typing.
As he started typing, there was an awkward silence filled by the light tapping at the top of the dungeon from rabbits and squirrels scurrying across the grass above.
"What's your name?" Brandyn asked in an attempt to break the silence.
"I shouldn't know your name and you shouldn't know mine. I go by the name, 'Carbine'. That's all you have to know." He stated, continuing with his typing.
"Oh yeah, this is a gang. You don't want too much information about yourself getting out everywhere. I certainly don't want them to know that I'm a Santiago."
"It's done. Your first mission is a big one. We've heard news of a secret monetary transaction between two rival gangs. The amount has been predicted to be between 1,000 and 5,000 marks. The part is, they have a regular-born escorting the money! Just knock his ass out, take the money and go. You're not a regular-born, are you?"
"N-no. Well, I was a late bloomer."
"Perfect. You won't need any assistance then. This guy is from a rival gang and we need him gone. Come back here at 9pm in 2 days, since the transaction is happening at 10pm. I'll give more instructions then come back here with the money after the mission is done." He said, suddenly turning off the monitor.
[NEW QUEST!]
[Quest: Transaction Infiltration]
[Complete the mission as advised.]
[Rewards: 1 Level Up]
"A whole level up just to beat up a regular-born?! This might be better than I thought." Brandyn realised, uncontrollably smirking as he looked at the notification.
Carbine looked up to Brandyn and was quite confused at why he just started smiling while looking at the wall behind him. Looking behind him, he just chuckled to himself before lifting off his chair.
"We have to go. This outpost isn't for long stays. Come on."
With the 2 people now out of the outpost, Carbine just left into the distance and Brandyn was forced to use his phone as a direction to return to his apartment. Once he arrived at his home, it was around 11pm at night so all it took was 5 minutes in bed before he was fast asleep.

*RING*
The next day, the first lesson had began and Brandyn was back with Mr Gudbrand.
"Greeting class. Now, we will continue with our dagger training. For the first half an hour or so, I would like you to continue to train your combos. I will be here to watch every one of you and to refine your technique so do not worry." He said, walking back to let the class continue with their training.
In the large ring, everybody used their own daggers and started practicing the combos they knew. The weaker students focused on learning what Mr Gudbrand had told them but the stronger students, instead, focused on the combinations that had been taught to them by their dynasties.
Brandyn just decided to refine his own training but what was noticeable was that his level of skill was quite high. Since he would do these daily quests, which used his sleek, purple dagger, his combos were looking more professional and skilled.
*fwip*
Brandyn shoved his dagger forward then pulled it back to his chest in a split-second.
*WHOOSH*
