"Why are they taking too long to come to my room, are they too afraid of the darkness that they cannot come to where I am? He asked himself. How long am I going to sit here waiting for them who are probably afraid of the darkness as I am or maybe are enjoying their sleep why for me am being tormented in this room." Those are the only words that Jonny had uttered aloud since the whole thing started. Sitting and waiting was all he could do and now he was growing impatient waiting.
The creepy night might even swallow him if he continue waiting for those who might not even come to his aid and now he decided to go to them no matter what it takes. After all, it is better to be eaten with those monsters trying to find help than wait for them in that frightening room all alone. "Why should I wait here while my parents are having a sweet dream and maybe the best sleep of their life?" He said to himself.
Jonny managed to maneuver his way silently through his room safely to the door. He holds the doorknob and for a second hundreds of thoughts, he had previously crept back to his mind and for a while, he just stood there doing nothing as a jilt of cold fear runs through his body from toe to his head. Jonny was frightened and the things that he was afraid of are the things he was imagining were waiting for him behind that closed door.
He was afraid of the silence that he was experiencing tonight. Could the night be this silent? No, he can't remember any single night that was silent like this of today night and why are the insects not making even a single noise? Where are the chirping of crickets, the hooting of owls and what about the croaking of frogs and toads, why are they not making a single sound? Usually when rain rains frog do croak but not today.
He hated that he was afraid of today something that was unusual for him. He was always bold even at night and has never been afraid of the darkness until today. Today is different and this night is surely different from other nights. He hated this particular night and hated his parents for not doing anything to help him.
He swirled the door knob and opened the door slowly as he peeped to see if there was anything in front of the door but he could not see anything with that kind of darkness and all he could hear was the echo of the sound produced by the door. He was going to make one step after the other through the dark corridor and into the stairs until he reaches their bedroom. The silent or creepy night was not going to stop him from walking to where his parents are. Although he was afraid of the darkness he was not going to be defeated by that and be unable to get out of that room, the same room he was afraid of being alone in.
He needed to overcome his fear and the fear of this night and the only way he could do that is by making it to his parents and with them, they can light a candle or something and with the light back he is assured he is going to see the whole house and by any chance, the night monsters were present in the house they are going to disappear and never to come back again, at least that what he thought.
He made his way through the corridor as silently as he could for not to attract any unnecessary attention from whatever may be hiding there. Stealthily as he could he moved passed the corridor and now he was standing facing the staircase. He was now again afraid than ever. On his head, he could see the stairs spinning with the monsters staring at him with their bloody eyes waiting for him to reach them. It is the stair that they do wait for people to come to them. What if their alpha is the one waiting for him at the far end?
"No I can't do this," he said. He thought of going back to his room and locks the door behind him, he then put the table together with the chair at the door to help protect him from anything that might think of opening the door and getting in. If I go back and do that then there is nothing that is going to push the door and get in, he thought. But what about overcoming my fear, if I go back that will not happen and the night still going to continue to torment me. And of that, he decided to continue with his journey. Moving from his room to that of his parents seems to be a mile journey a place that on a normal day he takes ten seconds to reach.
On reaching the ground at the far end of the staircase he paused for a while for him to adjust to his serene place where he thought his life was going to end as the monsters were waiting for him there to end his life. For a while, he stood there trying to feel his surroundings and to hear if there is any other movements apart from his.
Nothing seems to be all alone in here, there is no one in here he said to himself and so he continue moving to where he was going. Jonny went up to his parent's door and grabbed the knob but when he was about to rotate the knob, he remember he has not knocked and that he need to knock first as that was the best etiquette. He should not behave like those night monsters that enter people's houses without permission.
Instead of knocking Jonny finds himself calling his parents. "Dad, mum!" he called out aloud. There was no response from his parents. Jonny called again and again but no reply. This time he called and knocks at the same time but still he got no reply. "Why are they not replying to me?" he asked himself. Everything now feels strange to him. Why did his parents never come to check on him, why are they not answering him now? Do they not care anymore? Several questions run through Jonny's mind. He pushes the door open and went straight to wake them up.
He called them again while walking towards their bed but no one answered him. On reaching the bed he touched the bed to wake them but no one was there. They were not in the bed. Where could they have gone to? That is what echoed through Jonny's mind. He was now more afraid than he was before he came to the room.
