TINA
Everything was great in the office the following day. Like winning a jackpot. Aside from the congratulations, the entire office is filled with overflowing champagne and chocolate cupcakes.
It looked like a preschooler’s bake sale. It's kind of cute, though. And everyone else in the office seemed to enjoy it. Employees come here and there carrying small trays and fill them with the pastries as they go back to their office cubicles. The entire floor now smell like pastries.
“Cupcake?”
My husband said as he came back to the office. As what I requested, I have a separate office from him now. It’s adjacent to his, a little smaller, but it’s my private space. It’s where I get to think about… stuff.
He held the chocolate cupcake with colorful toppings like a toddler winning his prize. He looked cute and hopeful, waiting as I watched.
“Does it taste good?”
He nodded.
“Best cupcake I ever had.”
