Sheila did come shortly after. I knew because Jiego excused himself from a very important conversation with Mr. Ramirez, one of our major stockholders. He looked behind the man, straight to the event’s main gate and there’s this brilliance in his eyes I only saw once before.
I bit the insides of my cheeks. I do not know why this is annoying me like hell. He just married me. He just gave me his last name, didn’t he?
But what does his last name got to compete with the way he looked at her tonight? By how close they are?
“Tina! Congratulations again!” - Sheila greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
Her lips felt rough against my cheek.
Jiego was watching though, so I didn’t let him see the distaste painted on my face.

I called Jiego’s attention as it was clearly not on me at the moment. He was busy having a handshake with his longtime “friend”.
