TINA
Mom and Dad arrived on the manor the day after, carrying fewer bags than I expected. Perhaps it was because the wedding’s around the corner, and there’s no need to hassle themselves of bringing more bags than needed.
Jiego was waiting with me on the front door. He has sent a driver to pick up my parents from the bus terminal. Anytime now, they’ll be here.
“Are you nervous?” – Jiego asked. Maybe he noticed I was fidgeting with my fingers as we sat on the edge of the steps
“I don’t know. I haven’t stayed in one household with them for long. And now it’s not even my household.” – I pointed out
“It IS your household. WILL be, too.”
“Come on, just between us, we both know this is only yours.”
“No. The contract says so. All of my properties are co-owned now. With you.”
I wanted to smile. Right, I almost forgot. Damn, some of these things really need some getting used to.
I shrugged.
“Let’s just act like this is real. It feels real to me anyway.”
