Ivy's POV
The first thing that I noticed when I opened my eyes was the thundering noise at the background that helped me to remember I was in a plane. The second was the quiet murmurs around me. The third was the super awkward restrictions around my wrists. Fear filled me as I understood where I was and where I was going. I was on a plane and I was being taken back to the academy that I'd left a long time ago.
Slowly I opened my eyes open and adjusted to the light. I noticed I was lying on Andy's lap and I promptly sat up with a blush on my face.
"You're awake," he expressed.
"You played dirty, you knocked me out!" I frowned.
"It's not called playing dirty. It was a necessity seeing how hard you were fighting back."
"I don't even know any of you. I should call the police." I protested.
"Why?"
"It's a kidnap case!"
"You took down three vampires on your own." He reminded me.
"Urgh! Fine, can you at least get these off now?" I signaled at the cuffs on my hands. "Since I'm now on the plane, it's basically impossible for me to try to run for now."
"For now?" he asked, his lips twisting in amusement.
"Well when we land I could think about rebelling again." I shrugged and noticed the way he looked at me. "Come on. It was only a joke."
"Okay, just for now though," he finally agreed and made to un cuff me.
Immediately the cuffs were off, I stepped over his legs, moved over to Jackson, Quinn and Dan and punched all three of them. Andy was out of his seat in a moment and he was frowning at me. "Have you got no self control?" he barked as he kept me down.
"Relax, I was only going to hit them once for trying to hurt my friends." I sneered.
"There'll be no more hitting them anymore even at the academy " Andy said with a serious look.
"Academy?" I asked, faking confusion.
"Don't even try to deny it, we know you're a Dhampir. You must be, considering how well you fought."
I took full breaths and tore from his grasp to sit in my seat. There was no option but to go forward now; I had to return with them since it was absolutely impossible to escape in this moment. At least this time it should be different. Nobody would recognise me and I was no longer the shy girl who couldn't stand up for herself. These people had no idea what they were getting themselves into taking me back to that academy.
We landed and the drive to the academy in the van was long and dreary. Same as ten years ago, the Head master was a Dhampir called Martin Chase. He was as nice as he was strict.
"You can all go now except the young lady and Guardian Maxwell." Martin instructed. The other two guardians bowed and left.
When we became alone, out of nowhere, Andy folded his arms over me in a warm hug and he cuddled my hair.
"Stop pretending, little Ivy," he murmured and I froze in his arms. I pushed him away turning to confront him with quizzical eyes. He held up my bag which had my mom's stake in it, and then I knew how he'd found out my identity.
I stood frozen in place for a few seconds before emotions took over and I launched myself into his arms. In the end we separated and I smiled up at him.
"I see you couldn't exactly get rid of the hair colour." Andy teased.
"How could I? Red's my favourite colour." I grinned. "I have a plea to make, Guardian Chase."
"You know you can call me Martin whenever we're not in public, little Ivy," he reproved.
"Both of you must stop calling me that." I told them.
"What?" The two of them glared.
"Calling me 'little Ivy'. I don't need anybody knowing who I truly am."
"So you mean to keep your name as 'Kylie Valentine'?" Andy grinned.
"You went through my stuff, didn't you?" I frowned at him.
"Well I needed to figure out what your identity was and verify whether you hid extra stakes." Andy held his arms out in defence.
"Anyways, that's correct. I want to keep the name Celine Valentine." I spoke bluntly.
"I see that you've created quite a mentality." Andy sneered. "You realize how much trouble that tongue of yours could get you into?"
"You would not want to know, Andy." I smiled giving him one of my predator grins.
He gazed at me shocked briefly before the two men chuckled. "I was wondering when the Ivan blood was gonna kick in. You were always an odd child." Martin stroked my hair tenderly. "You are a royal all the same, Ivy Ivan. Dhampir or not, you should watch out." He cautioned.
I nodded and suddenly remembered something. "What time is it?" I asked.
"Around 5 AM."
"I need to call my friends. I have to make an excuse to say why I will not be going to work and why I'm not going to that school any longer and why nobody will be able to see me from now on." I listed endlessly.
"You have a job?"
"I have two." I expressed gladly.
"Two?"
"I'm a vocalist and I work at the club the Strigoi attacked this evening."
"You sing? Wow."
"Dhurrr, I'm the lead singer of 'Vampire Guardians'." I smiled.
"What a suitable name." Martin jeered. "I think I've heard about that."
"Really?"
"They play it a lot around the academy."
"Amazing. Good thing I wear a hairpiece, I wouldn't be easily recognised. Fans can be startling." I shivered recollecting that one time when a fan tackled me to the ground. That was terrible.
Guardian Martin smiled and walked out leaving me and Andy.
"Alright. Allow me to take you up to your room." Andy offered.
"In the dhampir quarters, right?"
"That's right. Your room is on my floor alongside ten others your age."
"OK. How can I get all of my stuff sent here from my place in town?"
"Martin is on that now, we took your keys and he's gonna go get your things."
"When is he leaving?"
"Later today.
"Tell him to go around seven PM. I'll get friends of mine to assist him with packing my stuff. They'll understand better what I need."
Andy walked me to my room and left after I'd settled in. I looked at the time on my telephone, it was almost seven in the morning. I called Smith first to let him know that my uncle had come to get me and I was currently as far as way as possible on the opposite side of America. Smith was unwilling to let me go however he was glad that I was with family once more. Then, at that point, I called my other manager, my music manager. She was shouting at me for ten minutes then at last quietened down. It was a troublesome discussion, however she at last acknowledged it. All things considered, there was nothing both of us could do. I told her that I might be back in two years time, however that decision was indefinite..
Finally, I called Hannah and Lola, my two best friends. I called them both and joined the lines to make a three way discussion.
"Hello Ivy, what're you calling so early for? You're not normally awake until like two pm on a Sunday." Lola teased.
"Listen, um… I will not be able to see you all for quite a while." I dropped the bomb.
"I don't understand, explain better." Lola said and I could literally see her squinting her eyes.
"As in, maybe.... forever." I said.
"WHAT?!" the pair shouted so noisily I needed to hold the telephone away from my ear. "WHY?!" they asked at the same time again.
"Uhm... My uncle showed up."
"You've had no contact from him for quite a long time and he unexpectedly appears? How would you know he's not some insane stalker?" Hannah inquired.
"I just do, girls."
"So where are you presently?"
"The opposite side of America, I'm close to Spokane." I told them, emotions gripped my throat
"That is such sad news. The school will miss their little star so much. We will really miss you, babe. This is so abrupt, your uncle could not even allowed you to bid farewell to your friends." Hannah said.
"Damn it." Lola cursed.
"I know, but don't worry girls, I'm fine." I could hear the tears and quiet wails from both ends
"Have you told the others?" Lola asked.
"I've told Smith and Ms Manager."
"What did they say?"
"Smith said he was miserable to see me go and Ms Supervisor had a tantrum." I chuckled.
"That is so like her." Lola chuckled.
We kept talking for one more hour before we finally hung up. They agreed to go meet Martin at my place and help him pack my things.
"It's been a stressful day. Who would've thought that I would one day be brought back to this place?" I mumbled to myself gazing through the window.
After going through the arrangement of the room, I finally dozed off setting my alarm for five p.m. it was certainly going to take a while to get used to the new daily schedule. Again.
