"M-Mother…" Lana trembled at the warm touch of Maria, Her eyes quivering with tears pouring out.
"To think a grown-up woman would be crying in my arms again, just like old times." Maria smiled softly and wiped her tears.
"H-How..*sob*... How is this possible?"
"I saw the orphanage blowing up right in front of me, people said it was a gas leak that went wrong back then," Lana asked her.
"Do you honestly believe it was a gas leak?" Maria questioned her.
"No" Lana shook her head.
"You never leave the gas on, you always double-check it every time before and after making any meal, It was clear that someone was after the orphanage."
"But someone kept you as a chief and prevented you from rising the ranks despite you having skills to match up at least a few ranks higher than what you currently have," Maria added.
