Chapter 42 - The Funeral

A week has passed since the president was declared dead from the accident, and the funeral has finally been set up.

The day of the funeral for the President was a somber and solemn occasion.

As the cortege made its way toward the cemetery, people lined the streets, waiting quietly for the procession to pass. They stood in silence, heads bowed, as the hearse carrying the President's casket drove by.

At the cemetery, the mood was even more subdued. The casket was lowered into the ground as family members and dignitaries looked on.

Hugo had no family members that were still living.

The dignitaries were a line of all the military officials who served when he was president of cocoon 5.

A few speeches were made by his employees and close friends as the number of people in the crowd slowly reduced, paying tribute to the President's life and service, but they were short and heartfelt, focusing more on the man and his legacy than any formal ceremony.
