The door to her room in the castle was slammed shut and locked behind her. She stormed across the room and made sure that each window lock was fastened tight, pulling the curtains to hide them from the outside world. Crimson moonlight still radiated from the cracks and that would have to be enough. Finally Strelitzia stopped to face her husband; auburn tresses whipped about her face and a deep fear within the depths of her gaze.
"I know you don't want to run," She began, beginning to pave the length of their space. "But things aren't safe here. Vex found out I lied about what happened to Bynx. He forced me to go to Ja'ule to deliver the news knowing what my uncle might do!"
Her hands shook as she wrung them together. The color seemed to bleed from her skin with each word that recounted the event and the scars across her body wouldn't stop aching. "He murdered two men in front of me. They hadn't even done anything wrong!"
