"Realm Master. There is a gas station not far from here. A ten-minute walk. The Realm master should wait there while I prepare a host for myself with better living conditions." Xiao Shu was also at a loss for what to do. Finding a temple for a divine being like Shen Jiyu was extremely difficult and the only host he had found just had to be poor and wretched.
Shen Jiyu walked in the rain to the gas station. With each passing second, his thoughts wandered from whether the clan elders would scold him if he boycotted this task after receiving it in the name of the clan to whether this was a grand scheme by Feng Mian to make him miserable and watch him struggle.
He was so caught up in his thoughts that he barely noticed when a black car drove right next to him. The driver rolled down the window and a gentle voice asked from within the car, "Do you have somewhere you are going to? I could drop you on the way."
Shen Jiyu froze immediately at the extremely familiar voice.
Feng Mian.
For a second, Shen Jiyu wanted to abandon everything and run back to his palace in Penglai but he pushed those abominable thoughts back into the recess of his mind.
He was the Clan leader of the Shen Clan, he was the realm master of Penglai. A fourth of the weight of the sky was his responsibility. He was not the weak and naive youth that Feng Mian had humiliated.
Feng Mian seemed to find his silence funny and he chuckled, a pale hand reaching past the window to give Shen Jiyu a card, "My name is Nian Zhen, I am in the personnel department of Shang Zhen Entertainment company. Don't be afraid, I am not planning anything bad. It looks like it will not stop raining for a while, let me drop you off. Think of it as my daily good deed."
His voice was as if it was accompanied by a spring breeze even in the cold, it had a unique way of making people feel comfortable.
But that voice made Shen JiYu feel even more cold, with each passing second. He felt a suffocation in his chest that became hard to bear, his heart aching badly. He really wanted to destroy something.
Why? He was Shen Jiyu. Why should he feel this way while Feng Mian went about his life normally?
Shen Jiyu gritted his teeth and tried to open the door to no avail. Nian Zhen chuckled again and the door opened automatically.
Shen Jiyu entered the car and his eyes automatically went to Feng Mian who was looking at him with a calm and gentle expression.
There was no resemblance between this body and Feng's Mian body back in the Heavenly Capital. The body next to him had short black hair that stopped at the nape of his neck and light brown eyes that were hidden behind gold-rimmed glasses.
"Realm Master! The heavens truly favour us. What a kind and generous person!"
No, there was a similarity, both Feng Mian and the body next to him had the same gentle and refined bearing like immortals cultivating the path of sages.
"It is raining so badly and you did not carry an umbrella. Be careful next time. What is your name? Where do you live? Is it far from here?" Nian Zhen asked as he watched the drenched youth from the corner of his eyes.
"Shen Jiyu." He glared at Feng Mian's face but he did not see any spark of recognition at the name. There was a slight buzzing in his ears and Shen Jiyu wrinkled his eyebrows and looked ahead.
It did not matter anyway.
"A fine name." Nian Zhen said, "It is not very common. Are you from around here?"
"No."
Nian Zhen's eyes squinted in interest, "Oh! Just entered the city or have you been here a while?"
Shen Jiyu did not respond and closed his eyes, planning to ignore Feng Mian and his questions to the best of his ability.
"How old are you? Are you a minor? Or should I drop you at the police station?"
"No. Realm Master, you can't let him take you to the police station. The information on your host has not yet arrived, it would not be a good thing if we go there and we can not answer their questions." Feeling like this heavenly born and bred immortal might not understand what he means, Xiao Shu explained in familiar terms, "They are just like the Bureau of Defence and Order."
"Not the police station. You can drop me anywhere else." Shen Jiyu mumbled.
Nian Zhen glanced at Shen Jiyu's face and his heart softened slightly. He increased the temperature of the car and switched on his radio.
The car was soon filled with a sweet, enticing voice. Her voice was clear and she had superb control of the song.
Shen Ji Yu had always liked music and he could not help nodding away.
Nian Zhen smiled, "You like Mimi." His voice got lower and he whispered, "Do you want her autograph?"
Shen Jiyu did not know who Mimi was but the way Feng Mian smiled when he talked of her grated on his nerves and he looked away.
Seeing that the youth did not have any desire to engage in a conversation with him, Nian Zhen did not push him, maintaining the speed limit until he stopped at a beautiful house painted in white.
He stepped out of the car and came over to the other side, opening the door.
Shen Jiyu did not show any surprise at his action. He looked up, it had finally stopped raining.
"We are here. My house is closer than the hotel so you can have a warm meal and change your clothes." Nian Zhen taking another look at the youth. His black hair was cut short revealing a pair of shiny black eyes that gleamed with curiosity and youthful arrogance. He was tall and slender with features that were not easily forgotten. He was just perfect.
Nian Zhen's smile turned even more gentle as he walked in front of Shen Jiyu.
"Realm Master! It is here. The information on your host has finally arrived along with Marquis Feng's obsession. Should I transmit it to you now?" Xiao Shu said joyously.
"No, wait." Shen Jiyu said firmly as he followed Feng Mian step by step into his house.
