Chereads / The Death: Origin of the Grimoire. / Chapter 43 - Keith Frazier.

Chapter 43 - Keith Frazier.

Gazing at the unnoticeably trembling figure of Sir Velor walking towards the his Knights Order's knights, Ivan pondered upon the matters he had learnt.

He felt as if he learned enough information to create a solid foundation for the path he was about to take, though not entirely, he could learn more if he utilised the information he has already learnt.

His gaze landed at the system prompt in front of him as he pondered, and he quickly made his choice on which [Blessing] to choose.

It was at that time, Velor, who seemed to have gotten his shit together, began to talk out loud after realising that his previously muttered words were heard by none, except for Ivan, Nu, and Zilla. He asked everybody to choose a [Blessing] of there choice after giving them an advice on not choosing the [Human Blessing] which was disadvantageous in the long run, and since it was something he himself had seen in those who had experienced the difficulties after choosing the [Human Blessing], his words influenced all, who had began to choose a [Blessing] they wouldn't regret choosing.

After noticing the bright chartreuse flashes upon humans, he nodded and began to explain and advice them on the [Worlds Academy], while Ivan focused on his list of [Blessings] while a part of his consciousness heard what Velor was speaking.

'Though none of those existing here in this world seemed to really have understood its importance, I still cannot believe that one could be as ignorant as to deny their origins.' Ivan muttered in his consciousness.

[You have chosen [Human Blessing]]

[Your sense of [Taste] has improved]

[You have unlocked [Adaptation] stat]

Humans are creatures that adapt to everything thrown at them, and the [Human Blessing] was basically increasing that inherent nature of the humans, though it might be unnoticeable at the start, it certainly holds unprecedented amounts of benefits.

If one really wanted an enhanced sense, they could train them to the level they were satisfied and the [Adaptation] stat basically paves an easier path for them to utilise the enhanced sense's unveiled potential to its limits.

'According to Sir Velor's words, our Planet Earth, or the current [Second World Of Aerith], is [Adapting] to the [System] that seemed to be the [Watcher Of The Unknown], if pondered over it from a different angle, one could understand how important [Adaptation] really is.' Ivan thought. His thoughts merely fell towards the positive side that benefited him the most on the longer run; with his 6 figured years of experience, "the longer run" didn't really seem long at all.

"Please come over to the stage and form two lines; those who wish to go to the [Worlds Academy] on my right, and those who wish to go to the [Adventures Guild] to my left!" Velor announced, as more thoughts began to resurface in Ivan's consciousness.

'Now, I have collected at least 1/4 of the required information, if the [Worlds Academy] has a library with adequate books about the things I'm curious about, then it won't be long before I get to check off the first thing I had written on my to-do list.' Ivan pondered as a thought that seemed to hold extreme significance rose in his mind.

'Why and how are the mind-sets of the older generation affecting everybody? Loyalty, dedication, determination, and ethics are the [Characters] found mostly in the older generation, while us from the new generation search for options....' Ivan pondered as he narrowed his gaze as he glanced around at those around him.

Of course, it isn't as if those characteristics aren't found in the new generation, but those were mainly found in the older generation. You can ponder over it if you want to refute it.

'Is it because of the [System]?' Ivan wondered as he stood in a line with Zilla standing in front of him and Nu standing behind him.

"The basic training will be a combined session that includes each and every single one of you, since the [Adventures Guild] is located within the [Worlds Academy]. You will have time to rest for a first few days which will allow you to get adjusted to the new atmosphere. Then," Exclaimed Velor as he turned to glance back at the [Mage], who nodded his head and walked back.

"Your choices have been recorded, so you have fifteen minutes before you guys will have to teleport to the "upper floors" of the academy." Velor said, and his words cleared up Ivan's thoughts of the training hall being located in the lower floors of the academy.

How could he not realise whether the floor he stood on was underground or above ground when he lived in an underground tower for thousands of years in the [Unknown World]?

'I just hope they don't have anything to determine my actual age.....' Ivan wondered.

"I hope it will be different this time...." A familiar voice's mumble sounded behind him, Ivan didn't need to turn to know that the voice belonged to none other than Sir Keith.

''this time' huh....' Ivan repeated Keith's words in his consciousness.

Rot or Chaos, system, skills, domes, magic power, aura, monsters, fantasy knights, and even his, Ivan's, identity as a Sovereign; nothing seemed to ever be enough to surprise Keith, instead, from his actions, one should be an imbecilic to not realise how Keith seemed to used to all the fantasy-like changes that happened on a day that was just like any other day if not for the changes the Rot that befell upon Earth had brought.

"How very curious."

Keith joined the line that brought him into the [Worlds Academy].

In his previous life; he, who had thought that only extreme situations could make a human being stronger, had chose to become an [Adventurer] instead of a [Cadet].

And it was only later, which was sooner than what he had expected, that his thoughts were proven to be true.

Keith got stronger, unbelievably stronger even, thanks to all the blood, sweat, and tears that he poured into craving his path to strength. But, at the same time, it made him numb to many emotions that an young man like him should enjoy experiencing.

His strength killed his own race, making him numb, scared, and detached to many emotions. His strength forced upon him the responsibilities of lives he wasn't willing to carry. His strength forced upon him ploys that he absolutely abhorred, and even made him a sacrificial political pawn at the hands of the stronger. He was then later forced upon a marriage with a pitiful woman, who was another sacrificial political pawn, in whom he found love and had kids, only to later fall in love with another woman, learning which his wife and kids killed themselves, only to learn that the woman he loved was already cheating on him with three other men who knew what kind of a woman she was; devastated by the revelation he became a male escort before even realising what he had become, thanks to the changes that later forced themselves on the worlds of Aerith he realised how broken of an existence he had become, a realisation that made him focus on his forgotten pursuit of strength and made him into a human that transcended human.

His life which started from another good-looking boy, to an adventurer, a mercenary, a commoner, a knight, a pawn, a marionette noble, a man, a husband, a father, a lover, a male escort, a monster, and finally, ended with him becoming the strongest human to ever exist.

There was nothing, not even an instance from his previous life that he was proud of except for the fact that the first woman he loved was his wife, instead of the bitches he met later in his life.

'I remember her saying that she too was a [Cadet] in this time. She'll be my senior, won't she?' Keith smiled involuntarily at that thought.

'I'll be sure to make you happy in this life, even if I'm not the reason behind your smile.....'

"Keith....."

A woman's gentle, concerned, motherly voice sounded behind him; the sound carried a voice that seemed to be familiarly distant, which also made his whole body tremble unconsciously as emotions he never even expected to feel washed over him as his throat dried in an instant.

A word he had almost forgotten escaped his dried throat as his heart clenched painfully.

"M-mother....."
