Chapter 3 - Chapter 03

Over a short period of time, too many wonderful things happened at once, leaving him feeling somewhat numb and disoriented - regardless of what miraculous things occur again in the future.

Su Bai was fascinated by the Sky Steel Crow. He'd seen images of it in textbooks, and a fully grown Sky Steel Crow could even reach gold level!

Every hunt is a group endeavor and confronting an incredibly fearsome beast.

Once Su Bai had confirmed his lack of other abilities, he began to reflect on the changes within him.

First and foremost, he awakened a system - the legendary golden finger of the traveler.

Unquestionably, this system can enhance your pet's strength.

Why he can have two pets at such high levels is likely due to his double-contract talent.

He has determined that everyone is entitled to a certain number of pets, and each time your level rises significantly, you may contract an additional beast in order to acquire additional companions.

Black iron-level beastmasters can only own one pet, a rule that hasn't changed in two hundred years. He broke this rule; I don't know whether it's beneficial or detrimental.

Even if there's only one, an extra beast can give you tremendous strength!

Conversely, training will become exponentially more difficult!

Upgrading a battle pet necessitates constant battles and feeding it genius treasures filled with spiritual energy. Ordinary beastmasters do not possess such resources, so they can only cultivate one primary battle pet as their main force; most of the rest serve as auxiliary battle pets which helps reduce expenses.

Although the beastmaster is extremely wealthy, his expenses are also very high.

Su Bai rechecked her data panel and saw a change.

[(Name)]: Iron-beaked sparrow

[Current Level]: Black Iron Lower

[Current Experience]: 0/100

[Talent]: Divine Speed (Epic).

[Skill]: Iron Feather (Normal)

[Blood Awakening]: Sky Steel Crow (25%)

Su Bai predicts that when the Iron Beak Sparrow's bloodline awakening progress reaches 100%, they will fully transform into Sky Steel Crows!

If this is true, it could be incredibly dangerous.

Battle pets cannot be changed or substituted, and even if the battle pet passes away, no new battle pet can be contracted.

Evolution points can drastically enhance pets and raise their upper limit of capabilities - an incredible resource that defies imagination!

"If I can keep accumulating evolution points, then I can enhance the bloodline of my battle pet and no longer feel restricted by its potential!"

Su Bai clenched his fists, feeling the weight of power within him.

Time to take control of your destiny!

Chirp!

Su Bai immediately understood what this bird meant when it chirped.

He's hungry.

After entering the black iron level from the growth stage, it needs to replenish energy quickly in order to fully solidify its foundations.

Su Bai is suffering from a headache; where can she find food?

Thankfully, although the iron-beaked bird's beak has grown stronger over time, its taste remains unchanged and it still chews with a sharp swipe of its head.

Su Bai only saw a shadow, and when he turned around to investigate, not one caterpillar remained on the branch; all had been devoured by an iron-beaked sparrow.

"This must be an effect of divine speed talent!" Su Bai was overjoyed.

Crunchy chicken flavor.

Su Bai smiled as she felt the cheerful energy of the Iron Beak Sparrow in her embrace.

Like himself, this tiny creature has endured many hardships and found new life!

Su Bai left the iron-beaked finches to forage on their own and began considering another problem.

Where Can You Purchase the Second Pet?

Su Bai may as well take his double contract talent and turn it into tofu before shooting himself in the chest!

Unfortunately, the federal government will only give you one free beast egg per household. If you want to adopt a pet, you must find your own way to acquire one.

The most straightforward route is purchasing beast eggs, which serve as the primary source of income for beastmasters.

Unfortunately, many of these fierce beasts still roost in their old nests when they give birth to offspring and are surrounded by others of their kind - making for an especially hazardous situation.

Furthermore, most beasts will destroy the eggs when they realize they cannot escape, thus restricting the number of beast eggs humans can obtain and making them relatively weak.

Civilians cannot come into direct contact with the eggs of black iron-class beasts.

Su Bai is in a difficult situation. He lacks both money and the means to purchase high-level beast eggs.

If someone uncovers his secret of having a second pet by buying a beast egg, the results could be dire!

How?

Su Bai inhaled cold air without paying attention and was pricked by a caterpillar, leaving his fingers red and swollen.

"Ding, a contractable beast was detected. Is this an actual contract?"

Su Bai was dumbfounded.

How had this caterpillar grown into such an incredible creature?

And contractable?

Phantom Butterfly, our second pet of Chapter Three.

Su Bai was horrified to witness the caterpillar being devoured by an iron-billed sparrow and became immobilized in her grief.

What do you call such an animal?

Su Bai had never heard of anyone contracting a caterpillar before, as its body could not withstand the strain and it exploded upon being squeezed.

Only beasts are powerful enough to stand against the power of this contract.

Are the caterpillars that can be seen everywhere in an orchard really beasts?
