As soon as Ron saw the patrol guards approaching, he knew that the old gatekeeper lady had already passed on the information!
But it didn't matter. Ron was here to cause trouble, and he wasn't shy about storming the Holy Land to confront Enel!
What was Ron's purpose in coming to Sky Island?
The Rumble-Rumble Fruit!
His main goal was to obtain the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, and he had already decided that Nami would be the one to eat it. With its powers, she would become a powerful devil fruit user, though she'd still be the navigator, of course.
"You're the people from the Blue sea who illegally invaded our Sky Island, aren't you?" The patrol guard leader yelled at Ron's group. "If you know what's good for you, surrender immediately!"
"Impossible!" Nami frowned. "How could we have invaded illegally? We came in through the main gate, and the old woman agreed to let us in!"
"Yeah, that's right!" Kaya nodded in agreement.
The patrol leader snorted coldly. "You didn't pay the entrance fee, so you trespassed on Sky Island! Isn't that still an illegal invasion?"
"Oh, really?" At this, all the girls turned their eyes toward Ron.
Ron wasn't fazed at all. He smiled slightly and said, "Pay the money? But the old lady said we could enter without money. Now you're changing the rules? But no worries."
Ron stepped forward, moving toward the patrol leader. "We didn't come to Sky Island to argue with you. I came here to find Enel."
"You... you dare call God by his name?!" The patrol leader's face twisted with rage. "You've violated the laws of Sky Island, and we're arresting you right now!"
The patrol guards raised their dial weapons, surrounding Ron.
"Ah... I didn't want to do this." Ron shook his head, sighing. "But why are you doing this to yourselves? I don't have time to play with you."
"Arrogant fool! Seize him now!" the patrol guard leader commanded.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The dial weapons roared, firing wildly at Ron.
"Ahh!" Conis cried out in terror.
"Don't be afraid!" Kaya quickly took Conis's hand and comforted her. "Don't worry, Brother Ron is really powerful. These attacks won't harm him at all!"
"Really?" Conis asked, turning to Kaya in disbelief. She saw Kaya nodding and then looked at the other girls. None of them seemed worried. Even the two younger ones weren't frightened in the slightest.
"Mr. Ron... will he really be okay?" Conis, still unsure why everyone seemed so confident, hesitated before asking again.
"You don't know how strong Brother Ron is," Kaya replied. "Just watch closely, and you'll understand soon!"
Kaya's heart softened as she saw how kind and innocent Conis was. She began to think about bringing her along on their adventure. Such a sweet girl, Brother Ron would definitely like her. It was decided—she would try to recruit her!
Conis turned her attention back to Ron, curious to see his strength.
The shells flew toward Ron, but he dodged them all effortlessly. To an outsider, it looked like he was simply strolling around, but those few steps were enough to avoid every shot.
"Impossible!" The patrol leader's eyes widened in shock. Ron had dodged all their attacks with ease. The patrol members were equally stunned. They had never seen anyone move faster than bullets before. Dodging one or two bullets might be luck, but dodging an entire volley from over a dozen people? That was pure skill!
"Captain... what should we do now?" One of the patrol guard stammered, trembling. They had no chance against someone who could avoid all their attacks so easily.
"Bastard! We can't just run away!" the patrol guard leader barked angrily. "We've got strength in numbers. Everyone, charge with me!"
Ron watched them silently, unimpressed. What good was it to attack together?
Fighting opponents like these felt like bullying. It was best to finish things quickly. After all, his real goal was to find Enel, claim the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, and get the flying ship.
Speaking of which, wasn't Enel's massive ship powered by the Rumble-Rumble Fruit? It was a formidable vessel made of gold. And once Nami consumed the fruit, she could use her navigation skills to control it. Perfect!
With that thought, Ron decided to end the fight.
"Charge!" The patrol leader and his men rushed forward, ready to engage in hand-to-hand combat.
Ron casually weaved through their ranks, using only his right hand to tap each one on the shoulder. One by one, they fell to the ground, unconscious.
There was no need to kill these people. The only one he came to Sky Island to defeat was Enel. He was here for the fruit and the golden ship, nothing more.
"Wow! Mr. Ron is so amazing!" Conis gasped. "He beat the entire patrol guards that easily?"
"Of course, Brother Ron is incredible!" Apis chimed in proudly. "Sister Conis, you've never seen him in action before. He's even stronger than this!"
"Really?" Conis asked, her curiosity growing.
"Yes!" Kaya smiled. "Conis, would you like to come on an adventure with us? You've spent your whole life on Sky Island, right? You should see the world below! The sea down there is much bigger than Sky Island, and there are so many other islands—some of them even bigger than your Holy Land!"
"There are really that many places in the Blue sea?" Conis's eyes widened in surprise.
"According to Brother Ron, your Holy Land wasn't originally part of Sky Island. It's actually a piece of Jaya Island from the Blue sea," Kaya explained.
"Is that true?" Conis nodded, deep in thought. Kaya's invitation made her feel strange. She didn't have any special abilities—why would they invite her?
But she didn't dwell on it for long. She turned back to Ron, now approaching her, and asked urgently, "Mr. Ron, those patrol guards... did you... kill them?"
"Don't worry," Ron replied, knowing how kind-hearted Conis was. "I didn't kill them. I just knocked them out. They'll wake up in a day or two."
"Oh, thank you for your mercy, Mr. Ron!" Conis said gratefully.
"Well, next!" Ron turned his gaze to the green Holy Land. "I'm going to find Enel. Nami, you're coming with me. The rest of you, follow Conis and explore Sky Island. Sound good?"
"Huh? Ron, what are you going to do by confronting that 'god'?" Even Nami, who had been chosen to accompany Ron, looked at him with confusion, wondering why he only wanted her to go along.
"Mr. Ron, are you really going to see Lord Enel?" Conis was shocked. She hadn't expected Ron to be so direct in seeking out Enel. It was beyond her comprehension.
"Yes," Ron replied, looking at Conis. "The truth is, Enel isn't the original god of your Sky Island. He came here from another Sky Island after destroying it. He defeated the previous god and took over. Now, he's plotting to build a ship to destroy this Sky Island and then head to the Blue sea." (TN: In the original I think it was stated that he was trying to go to the the moon, but i'm not sure)
"What?!" Conis was horrified. "Lord Enel wouldn't do that, would he?"
"That's exactly what he's doing," Ron said. "He's planning to destroy Sky Island. I'm here to stop him."
Ron's words were full of righteousness, even though he had his own reasons. But he truly was saving Sky Island. If he didn't act, the island might not survive, as Luffy and his crew might not arrive in time. With the Going Merry now under Ron's command, it was unclear if Luffy had found a new ship, and without Nami, their navigator, who knew if they could even reach the Grand Line quickly enough?
