Chapter 13 - Chapter Twelve (Aid)

To provide with what is useful or necessary in achieving an end! This is the definition of aid ladies and gentlemen. Nevertheless like chickens,we eat and poop where we live and expect the same five star luxury the next day! Who are we? The certified beggars or the living disposal bins? You see aid is the modern day example of manna from heaven and when the clouds of goodwill open and the able extend their hands to the needy,a dependency syndrome is born and so is the genesis of all problems! Once off help becomes an overwhelming day to day experience that is totally absorbed and assimilated to diverse cultures and traditions until people begin to either see you as an angel or the devil himself depending on who benefits and doesn't! This was the dilemma that had been born by the cyclone and we were the hungry chickens that always had an empty stomach and desires to be fulfilled! Don't get me wrong, we loved every minute of it and we still do but sometimes assistance is indirect waste disposal!

You didn't think l was going to say this or speak in this seemingly ungrateful manner huh? Well let me indulge you in a little episode of events that l hope will leave you a better and thorough giver! If for example l aid someone with a warm but unappealing blanket and you also assist them with a more front shelf looking blanket what have we done? Surely the receiver will be warm and thank us for our kind hearts and efforts but unfortunately we have killed them! A small gesture of good faith grows to a seedling of comparison and then it blooms to a full grown tree of chaos, the same fruit that Adam and Eve ate death from! Beneficiaries take things as they come literally and so when the aid comes and the donors pour out their numerous aid to us,we kiss their feet and implore them for more but forget that dependency is not disability. It is inability to determine and condition yourself enough to fend for yourself! I say this because we received the same assistance regardless of our complex losses but who are we to question kindness, humanity and other people's pockets?

If l could aid you dear reader l would begin with thanking you for allowing us to do our duty as fellow human beings whenever one of us needs us the most and in my conclusion before we share the benefits amongst the beneficiaries,l would implore you to help me in return! I don't mean food for work nor the complex developmental jargon that social workers bring about with the aid, l mean true enlightenment for change! You see as l write about this in tears l am imploring you to help me by not only reading this and forgetting about it after a while like most novels and books but by remembering this like we still do the "Titanic!".In return l promise to donate to you events and exclusive insights of what happened therefore creating an equilibrium of willingness and effort for all of us which trembles upon the dependency syndrome of just knowing and ignoring! Aid is looking your brother and sister in the eye and holding their hands when they soldier own the sharp stones of survival! It's painful and even bloody sometimes but if it alters and changes people's lives for the better then this is what aid is! Thank you to all those who assisted and continue to aid us,we are forever in your debt!
