Approximately 2,000 copies of the "Ninja Academy" manga were distributed to the Dillock Island training ground, which is one of the training grounds. As there are thousands of pirates in the Whitebeard Pirate Group, the manga was distributed in proportion so that everyone could share and read it at the same time.
In the southeast corner of the training ground, a man with a ring headscarf was reading the same manga as two other pirates. He wore a green stretch shirt and a short jacket with a red snake pattern printed on it. This man was none other than Gin, a former Combat Commander of the Krieg Pirates in East Blue.
After the battle with the Straw Hat Pirates, Gin and his severely injured captain Krieg entered the Grand Line but suffered a devastating defeat less than a month later, resulting in the near annihilation of the Krieg Pirates. Krieg himself died at the hands of a pirate with a bounty of only 50 million, and Gin was left for dead in the sea.
However, he was rescued by Blenheim, the captain of the ninth division of the Whitebeard Pirates, and joined the Whitebeard Pirates as a patrolman. Initially, Gin was dissatisfied with his role and believed he was qualified for combat positions, but he soon learned the harsh reality during a battle in the New World: his perceived strength was nothing compared to the true powerhouses.
Despite this, Gin never gave up on his goal of becoming a strong pirate and tried to learn Haki while patrolling. However, he found it difficult to master. It wasn't until he watched "Legend of Cloud Shinobi" and started learning Lightning Style a month ago that he saw a chance to become stronger. Now, he's reading "Ninja Academy" and has a mental connection with it that allows him to enter the world of the manga.
Gin said, "I've been practicing in the world of 'Legend of Cloud Shinobi' for almost all my free time in the past month. I even saved half of my meal time for it. And you won't believe it, but in the comics world, 20 days equals nearly 20 years of real time practice of Lightning Style!"
"Speaking of which, I don't know if my strength should be considered Chūnin or Jōnin now?"
As Gin approached the gate of the Ninja Academy, two Anbu ninjas wearing animal masks stopped him and asked, "What are you here for?"
Gin replied, "Excuse me, I'll take the rating test."
The Anbu ninja asked, "Which level of assessment do you want to participate in?"
Gin hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to go for the Jōnin exam. He confidently replied, "Jōnin exam!"
The Anbu ninja handed him a form and said, "Take this form and turn right after entering the door."
Anbu Ninja handed Gin a form and directed him towards the examination office. The office was a training ground where the assessment was held. The chief examiner, Jōnin Temari, greeted Gin.
"Hello, Gin. I am Temari, your chief examiner. Are you ready for the assessment?"
Gin nodded, "Yes, I'm ready."
Temari smiled and readied her large fan, "Great, the assessment is simple. You just have to defeat a restrained Jōnin in a one-on-one frontal battle. I specialize in Wind Style, so I'll be your opponent."
Gin got into his stance and prepared for the battle ahead.
