" Zenaida, class monitor called me awhile ago and asked me that where are we at. I told her as you said to mr. Harry and I also informed mr. Harry that we are at your place too." Ava who came to the Zenaida's place after staying at the cafe for awhile, said.
Zenaida nodded her head while thanking Ava for helping her out in this situation.
Then, Ava asked her " Did your uncle leave so fast? I guessed in my mind that he will definitely leave early but I didn't expect it to be this soon. "
Zenaida remained silent without saying anything with a complicated expression on her face.
"Did he come by to ask money from you again? " Ava who noticed the complicated look on Zenaida's face asked Zenaida in a soft voice.
Zenaida nodded her head at Ava.
" I'm really tired of telling you about this Zenaida. Why aren't you thinking about this in a wise way without being overly emotional?" Ava said to her.
" Atleast try to think about it in this way." Ava continued to talk.
" If you didn't receive your scholarship, what would you have done with such a small amount of money which would be saved after giving to your uncle? Would that amount atleast enough for you to have three meals a day? "
" Not enough, right? But did he ever ask you about how are you eating three meals a day, did he?"
After saying all these things, Ava simply glanced at Zenaida and she continued to say more.
" He only comes home once a month and that is to take his share of money from you. Did he ever being worried about you are staying at home all alone for a whole day? It is okay, if he doesn't come to the home at the daytime but what about the night time?"
" How could any guardian bear to leave a girl at a lonely home at night in this way? I'm worried to death about you living all alone here at night like this but he doesn't even ask you a single word about it."
" Zenaida, aren't all these things confirming that he doesn't care about you at all? You aren't getting anything from living with him together. "
Ava finally finished her talking and stared at Zenaida while expecting Zenaida's idea about this matter.
Zenaida's face is bearing a very emotionless expression on it now and she said to Ava in an emotionless way " Ava, no matter how much you are going to say to me about this matter every day, I'm not going to change my mind. So, don't waste your energy or time on this matter. "
" May be all the things which you said is true. But any of these things doesn't explain the matter that why he was willing to be my guardian at that time while every other relatives refused me." Zenaida continued to say.
After saying all these things to Ava in an emotionless way, Zenaida said to Ava again in her usual soft voice " Ava, are you hungry? Didn't you ask me to cook you something delicious for you today? What should I cook for you? Say me anything which you want. "
Ava looked at her best friend who changed her colours faster than a chameleon.
Is this the same emotionless person as before?
This person is too much sweet and caring compares to the previous person. Ava knows clearly that Zenaida doesn't like to discuss this topic with her.
Ava has been always trying to bring up the matter about Zenaida's uncle's matter with Zenaida until today. She was hoping all that time to persuade Zenaida to take a wise decision about her uncle. But It has been always fruitless like today.
But today is the first time which Zenaida has shown the clear displeasure towards this matter to Ava. After noticing the attitude of Zenaida today, Ava determined herself not to bring up this matter with Zenaida ever again in the future.
With this thought, Ava smiled and said to Zenaida " Zenaida, you don't have to rush for cooking for me because I'm going to stay here tonight with you. I have already informed my mom about that and she agreed to it too. "
" Really? That would be great. Then, I would prepare a delicious dinner for us at night. For now, if you want anything else, you could just open the refrigerator and take out anything from there to eat or drink." Zenaida said to Ava while scrolling through her phone screen.
" I don't need to look for something in the refrigerator. I still have the food which you bought me at the cafeteria. " After saying that, Ava rummaged through her school bag and took out a polythene bag out of it.
Then, she passed a packet of bun and a yoghurt drink to Zenaida.
After that, she started to mind her own business and eat her own food.
Zenaida who looked at the food which was passed to her by Ava, suddenly reminded of Carl. She was completely forgotten about Carl because of her uncle.
Now, she was reminded of him again and her worries about his matter rose up a little bit.
Did he accept her apology?
It's okay ,if he doesn't accept her apology but did he eat something to fill his stomach?
She wanted to know about this matter so badly. But how?
Should she call Roy?
But the teacher must be in the classroom now.
Should she send him a text message instead of calling him?
Zenaida has noticed many times that Roy was in his phone even while the teacher was teaching to them. She noticed this because she would always stare at Carl times to time in the middle of the class too.
So, if she was to send him a text message, may be Roy would notice and reply to her behind the teacher's back.
