Chapter 31 - Chapter 30 Private Conversation

Although his consciousness had just returned and his head felt a bit groggy,

Yi Chen was still fairly aware of his surroundings,

and naturally noticed the arrival of the high-rank gentleman Qian Bosen, who examined him closely by pressing his eyes against Yi Chen's body.

Meanwhile,

every person present, including the Assessors and Clergy, watched him as though something were missing.

Goo-goo~

The owl perched on Qian Bosen's shoulder hooted.

"Here?"

Following the owl's sensing,

Qian Bosen shifted his gaze to the back of Yi Chen's head,

parting his hair with his fingers as much as possible so Vision could fully seep into the scalp, observing the situation inside the cranial cavity closely.

A complete brain came into view,

where the normally irregular arrangement of the brain's grooves had rearranged at the back.

The meaty stripes and notches in the rear brain area interconnected and combined to form a [Professional Emblem]—an open book that was symmetrical on both sides.

With each breath of the body,

oxygen was delivered to the space between cranial bones,

and the brain squirmed as it absorbed oxygen,

creating the illusion of flipping pages on the [book] at the back of the brain, even the tiny letters on the surface of the book seemed alive, changing content as they twisted and contorted.

"This!"

Having been in Zion for so many years, Qian Bosen had never seen such a sight before and was momentarily stunned.

He stood still, glued to the back of Yi Chen's head,

and it took him a full three minutes to realize that his behavior was highly improper, so he promptly stood up to compose himself.

Cough cough~

"The ceremony went quite smoothly this time, without exception, everyone has acquired their corresponding [Profession].

However, you are still one step away from becoming true gentlemen.

Before officially accepting the organization's 'training,' you will have two days of free time,

and shortly a guide will take you to your temporary residence in Zion City.

Please be sure to complete your 'custom clothing' during the remaining time,

failure to complete the customization or if the custom clothing is not up to the standard will result in delayed training and demerits."

As Qian Bosen finished speaking,

a strong cheer erupted in the ritual room, quickly subsiding.

Everyone suppressed their excitement, quietly discussing the [Professions] they had accepted among themselves.

Blond Edmund also hurried over to Yi Chen's side, attempting to locate the 'Emblem' on him.

"Eh? William~ is your emblem hidden in a very secret place?

How about this, my family has connections with a very nice [tailor shop] in Zion City, let's go together later?"

Yi Chen did not object to this proposition,

after all, he was not familiar with the place or the process of 'custom clothing.'

However,

White Eagle Qian Bosen by his side cast a sharp look and said sternly,

"Due to the special nature of William Behrens' personal circumstances, I will personally take care of his accommodation and clothing issues."

Blond Edmund naturally understood the implication of these words and, after throwing a 'see you later' look at Yi Chen, left with his team members.

The rest of the Assessors were either uniformly led to their temporary lodgings,

or like Edmund from a prominent family, could directly go to a family that had settled in Zion and stay in their residence.

"Let's go."

Under Qian Bosen's lead, the two first headed to a high-class restaurant named [Brusar].

They were seated in a private room at the deepest part of the establishment.

As various exquisite dishes were served, Qian Bosen deliberately emphasized privacy to the waiter, ensuring no disturbance during the mealtime that followed.

The subsequent dining experience made Yi Chen somewhat uncomfortable,

as Qian Bosen's movements were incredibly gentlemanly, even the angle at which he cut his food with knife and fork, as well as the time the food lingered in his mouth, were kept consistently uniform.

Yi Chen could only try to learn on the spot,

"No need to force it. Later, when you go through systematic learning, you will naturally re-learn gentlemanly etiquette… After all, before coming here, you were just an external worker in a cemetery."

Feel free to help yourself,

this is the reward you deserve."

"Thank you."

Since the other party had already said so,

Yi Chen, who had been famished for a while, directly grabbed the largest bowl of vegetable salad and devoured it in a few bites.

The little grape didn't want to be outdone,

popping out of the collar,

jumping to the dining table,

and using its mouth to suck out the eyeballs of a flatfish as an appetizer, then unabashedly gnawing on other meaty dishes.

Only after the little grape had licked the oily residue on the plates clean did it obediently nestle back onto his shoulder.

Qian Bosen watched the chaotic dinner table and murmured softly,

"... You'll need to seriously learn manners in due time."

"Understood."

"Let's get to the point... What choice did you exactly make in the 'Old Hall'?"

Yi Chen did not conceal anything and reported the situation truthfully,

just when he reached the middle of his explanation,

White Eagle Qian Bosen's pupils suddenly dilated,

"What? Blue, black, purple, three high-class letters appeared at once! How is that possible?

Hurry up,

and describe the emblems on each letter in detail."

When he spoke of the plant emblem on the blue letter,

Qian Bosen analyzed on the side,

"Plants... a rare and valuable support profession. Once you choose it, you'll become 'hot property' in Zion, with a multitude of Gentleman Teams casting you olive branches.

If you wish to become a 'Doctor' afterward, it will be much easier and getting a Clinic qualification will be more convenient."

When he came to the black skull emblem,

Qian Bosen's brow furrowed, his eagle-like gaze drilled into Yi Chen,

"The death aura accumulated and smeared in the graveyards shouldn't be enough to produce a death-associated Black Letter.

Do you have any more direct association with 'Death'?

This is even rarer than plants. If you choose this path, you have the chance to become the most fearsome Gentleman of Death. However... the emblem in your mind does not match this.

Did you choose the 'Purple Letter'?"

"Yes..."

"Why would you choose an entirely unknown path when you had two excellent options available?"

Qian Bosen, who had always been kind to Yi Chen, suddenly became exceedingly serious.

It seemed a misunderstanding had arisen.

He mistakenly thought the reason Yi Chen chose the Purple Letter was out of fear of pathogens from the outside world... wanting to use the opportunity of the Purple Letter to stay in Zion and live a mundane life.

"Behrens,"

Yi Chen enunciated his surname,

earnestly expressing his final decision to pursue knowledge as his main goal while balancing both attributes.

Upon hearing this explanation, the misunderstanding was immediately dispelled,

and Qian Bosen suddenly stood up, spreading his arms wide.

Even the owl on his shoulder, which seldom did so, spread its wings in echo of his action.

"Elegant!"

Qian Bosen quickly resumed his seat, saying earnestly,

"Ahem~ Since the 'First Gentleman' has given the instructions for me to be responsible for your basic training... I will be your 'First Tutor' in Zion, and I'll take care of the necessary procedures.

After all, I am a guest professor at the Omphalo-Centric-Academy.

Your subsequent admission process will be much easier."

Yi Chen also changed how he addressed Qian Bosen at the first opportunity,

"Professor Qian Bosen, I have another question.

As I have already completed my profession selection,

how can I feel the changes brought by the profession? Or how do I examine the relevant information of this profession?"

"This is the important thing you must complete within the two days I gave you, and it is also the last link to becoming a Gentleman - 'tailored clothing'.

Take your Gentleman's Skin, and come with me..."
