One early morning, a woman and her servant came to the inn as the sun was starting to rise. The woman had dark gray hair and bloodshot eyes. She was wearing an outfit that told Jes that she was some sort of noble.
The servant was a man that was a head taller than the woman he was serving. He had blond hair and blue eyes. He seemed fragile, yet he was carrying all the belongings his master had on her.
Then the woman asked "Do you sell rooms for daytime?" and Jes said "Of course." The woman then told the servant "Steve, give him a silver coin." The servant does so and Jes says "May I know your name dear customer?" The woman had an annoyed look on her face as she asked "What do you want my name for?" To which Jes politely answered "For the ledger of course."
The woman calmed down and said "Darsia. Darsia Victora. His name… You don't need it do you?" Jes says "If you are getting two rooms, then it is necessary. One silver covers that option." Darsia says "There is no need. We will be staying in one room." Jes said "As you wish." Then he took a key and gave it to Steve. Jes told them "Your room number is 1" Then the two people left for their room.
Iloton then commented once they were out of hearing range "That woman is a vampire." Jes responds "I know." Iloton says "Is she someone who warrants to be a customer to you?" Jes answers "Customer is a customer." Iloton responds with "Of course, of course."
Then Jes asks "How much do you know about vampires? I have handed you a couple of books concerning them." Iloton says "I know that they govern a kingdom in the shadows. They don't have a specific place where they have gathered, but they do have places they are seen more often than others. Most people don't know about their existence and even fever know about their secret government." Jes says to that "Excellent, you have learned well. But what you left out was that while they have a secret government, they are separated by different clans and ideals. The one who stands on top of the vampire hierarchy is Scarledo Kin, the oldest and most powerful vampire in this world."
Then a small moment of silence takes place until Jes asks "Do you know what are vampire's traits?" Iloton says "If Iloton remembers correctly, they are classified as sub monsters due to their nature and the fact that they look like humans for the most part. They can live by only drinking blood, but they aren't limited to only doing that. They can eat or drink things that humans enjoy, but they find it more tastier to drink the blood of a mortal. They have some abilities that are unique to them like the natural ability to charm people. Their primary weakness is that they can't last in the light of the sun for prolonged periods of time. They won't necessarily die from it, but they do feel pain while in the light of the sun."
Jes says "While you are correct for the most part about the vampire's weakness to sun, that isn't necessarily the case for all vampires. It highly depends on what clan you belong to. For example, members of Pathu clan can actually die when they are in the sun's light, but members of Louiad clan can stay in the sun like any other person whilst feeling a little to no pain. I think I hadn't handed you the book about that part, so it's not surprising that you didn't know."
Iloton asks "Iloton wonders, have Jes seen other beings like our world's vampires in other worlds?" Jes answers "I have. They have a tendency to be called by a similar name for some reason or another. Well, at least in this branch of worlds. Bloodsucking beings almost always come up in those things." Iloton asks "What do you mean branch of worlds?" Jes says "It's the branch of the world that comes after another world. You know, they multiply each time and if you go far enough, there are worlds that don't even have things resembling humans. It has been a while since I've been in one of those. Perhaps I should go to one of them once this world ends." Iloton says "So you mean those worlds that… Oh… Iloton gets it now."
Then Jes says "Good" and summons a wine bottle and a wine glass. Iloton asks "What are you going to do with that?" Jes responds "I'm going to start a new flow of customers."
Then Jes goes next to the door where the only customers still are and knocks. Jes hears Darsia say "Open it" and then Steve opens the door. Darsia asks "What is it?" to which Jes responds "I have come here to humbly offer my dear customer this fine vintage drink."
Darsia looks at the bottle for a moment and then says "Fine, I could take a glass of wine about now." Then Jes gives the bottle and the glass to Steve and says "Enjoy your stay."
Once Jes closes the door, Darsia tells Steve "Pour me some" and then Steve does so. The moment the cap of the bottle gets removed, a smell emanates from the bottle that Darsia didn't expect to smell. That was the smell of blood. And not just any sort of blood. It was blood that smelled divine to any vampire's nose. Steve poured some of the blood to the glass and handed it to his lady.
Darsia was holding a thing that she could not resist. In her mind she thought "Was I this thirsty?" and "How did the innkeeper…?" But as she thought those things, her lips touched the glass and the smell of tasty blood was oozing to her nose. She could not take it anymore and took a sip. She did not care if it was a trap or not. Something like this was to die for, for a vampire.
And once her tongue tasted the blood, she could not feel but utter joy as she continued to drink it. And as soon as she tasted it, she had already drunk all of the contents of the glass. Darsia extended her hand with the glass in it and told Steve "More." Steve did so and Darsia tried to savor it more this time, but she could not hold the temptation to swallow it.
She ordered Steve to pour some more. This time she would savor it longer. And eventually she drank the glass again. She ordered again. Then again. And then again. Until the bottle was empty. Once she noticed that the bottle was empty, a yearning for more came to her. But in her mind she thought "Something like this wouldn't go unnoticed by a vampire's nose. This blood wasn't from the innkeeper but neither was it from the girl. I didn't smell anyone who would have such tasty blood, but the blood was still fresh when the bottle was opened. How in the world…?"
Then Jes came to knock at the door once more and Darsia hesitated for a moment until she told Steve to open it. What she saw was something she did not believe. Jes was carrying another bottle that most likely contained the same type of blood. Jes told Darsia "I noticed that you have drunk that bottle, so I came here to offer one more. This is the last I will offer you for your stay, but I will gladly give you more if you purchase it when you are leaving. Here." Jes hands the bottle to Steve and then says "The two bottles of this fine vintage will be waiting for you in the evening. Once again, enjoy your stay." Then the door closes.
Now Darsia was certain, "This man wasn't ordinary." She then ordered Steve to pour some more and like before, the taste was to die for. The taste was so much that Darsia almost forgot why they decided to visit Etsi in the first place. She held herself back as she explained to Steve the plan she had. Once in a while, she would ask Steve to pour her some more of that tasty blood. Then she would continue to explain it. And after the plan was explained to Steve, Darsia would then decide to rest and told Steve to go and order whatever food he was feeling like. Steve did so and went down while keeping his senses sharp in order for his lady to sleep soundly.
So then the sun started to set and Darsia ordered Steve to purchase those two bottles of blood for her. Jes gave a piece of paper explaining that "Should you want an even more tastier vintage, then answer these questions so that I can better understand your taste. When Darsia read this later, she said "It can be even tastier?" as she began to drool a little.
As she was leaving, Darsia asked "What is your name and title?" Jes simply answered "My name is Jes Tacitus and I'm just a humble innkeeper of the Unseen Moon Inn." Darsia said "Is that so. I will be sure to come visit again in the name of my clan." Then she muttered under her breath "Might as well introduce some of my allies to this place and gain some prestige. Hell, if I can, I could tell sire about this place and rise to a second seat." Then she left together with Steve.
Jes couldn't help but to eavesdrop on what his customer just said. Jes now knows that Darsia belonged in the seats of the twelve that are highly influential in vampire society. Since the first seat was the highest rank that a vampire could have besides Scarledo Kin, Darsia was most likely on the higher ranking ones.
After they left, Iloton asked "What was on that piece of paper?" Jes explained what it was and then Iloton asks "So what sort of questions were in there? Jes answered "Do you prefer people who are older or younger? Man or woman? What race? Low in fat or high in fat. Muscular or not. Those sorts of things. In each question there is an option to say that they do not know or that they would like to give a more closer detail." Iloton asks "How do you even make it to their liking?" Jes says "That's a secret." Iloton looks at Jes for a while with an annoyed face and then says "Magic?" And Jes says "Not quite."
Then during one night after some time had passed, a group came in with Darsia who then soon gave papers to Jes. The papers answered the questions that would tell Jes what kind of blood they would prefer. There were some other customers who came together to watch what their master's reactions were. Darsia also gave a gold coin and then Jes smiled and said "Just take a seat, your drinks will come to you shortly. The group then sat down around a table and Jes started doing his trick.
Yuri, a vampire with bit smaller eyes, said to Darsia "Are you certain this man can satisfy our thirst?" Darsia answered "I'm willing to bet my life on this so you can rest easy." Yuri said "If you say so." Then Uju, a black skinned vampire, said to Darsia "I'm willing to take you up on that offer if you are wasting our time." Darsia said "Oh bring it on. I will show you why I have the higher seat on the table." Uju said "You only got that through some tricks.
A vampire named Daniel who had longer ears than normal vampires, stayed silent through all of this. Before becoming a vampire, he was an elven elder who got bored of mundane life. Through his former position, he had learned to investigate everything in detail before making a move. After Darsia gave him the proposal to go and visit the Unseen Moon Inn, he investigated the inn and its innkeeper in detail and found out that the demon region and the Terra kingdom don't want to mess around with. He chose after his investigation that he would be joining Darsia and the other two who would come with her. But after he got to see the innkeeper with his own eyes, he became disappointed and lowered his expectations.
Then soon after Jes came with four wine bottles that contained blood. Iloton was carrying the glasses and put them in front of them. Jes called the names of each person and handed them to their respective owners. Once Jes had confirmed which person wanted which, he opened the bottles one by one and poured the blood to their glasses. The moment the first bottle opened, all the vampires together with their underlings perked up as the aroma of the tastiest thing they ever smelled came through their nose. All the vampires in the room became enchanted by the smell and they could but wait for all the glasses to be filled.
Once the glasses were poured full of blood, Darsia grabbed her glass and gave a gesture of toasting. The other three followed suit and took their glasses and gestured the same. Then the moment all of them were waiting for came and they all tasted it. The feelings they had at that moment were of indescribable joy and euphoria. They could only but tear up as their tongue tasted the most divine taste for a vampire to taste. They tried to savor the taste as long as they could, but the time just flew by as they continued to drink the whole glass. They demanded Jes would pour more and Jes obliged.
They grew restless as they sat and waited for the others to get their glasses filled first and drink it as soon as they would be able to. They started bickering amongst themselves and Jes could only try to calm them down with little success. Eventually the four vampires demanded one of their underlings to pour more as Jes could only do one at a time. The other vampires in the room had drools dripping from their mouth as they could not dare to interrupt the feast their masters were having.
When the bottles became empty, the four vampire lords became anxious as they thought that it was now over. But they perked up after Jes informed them that he could give each of them three more bottles with a right price. They all ordered one of their underlings to hand Jes a gold coin as they did not care for the price at the moment. The only thing running in those master vampires' minds was that they wanted more as soon as possible. The underlings handed the gold to Jes and Jes went to prepare the drinks.
Then he went and gave each of the master vampires their bottles in three rounds and when those three rounds were up, he told the other vampires that were in his inn that he would also give exquisite bottles for them for the right price. Now the underlings couldn't even wait and they gave Jes gold coin each. Jes started working and the coins started pouring in.
Once the four master vampires were full and each had still a bottle or two left to spare, they all thanked Jes for the feast. Uju asked Jes "Where does it come from?" Jes simply answered "That's a secret only I know." Yuri says "Who cares where it comes from. It tasted delicious in a magnitude that words alone can't describe." Uju then says "While I agree that it tasted unimaginably good, I would want to know where it comes from so I can enjoy it in my free time." Jes replies "As long as you come here as a customer, I'm always willing to give you two bottles per day. But I should warn you even though you should know, hoarding blood is only wasting its true value." Darsia says "Agreed."
Then all the vampires decide to leave before the sun comes up. During the trip back, Uju said to Darsia "I suppose I should apologize for threatening you." Darsia responded "No worries. You couldn't have possibly known."
Daniel in the meanwhile is only questioning what kind of being the innkeeper is. Not even a god can procure so much blood of the same quality just like that. While he thinks that it's okay for now, he still is planning to investigate the innkeeper further. He is also worried that the innkeeper might be trying to get famous in the vampire kingdom and get in touch with their sire and assassinate him through it in some manner. Even though Daniel knows that poisoning his sire is impossible, a being that can procure such a delicacy with such ease could easily find a way to poison the king of vampires.
Nevertheless, this news of blood that tasted divine came to the ears of Scarledo Kin. In his throne he wondered "How good can it possibly taste?" and ordered one of his underlings to bring one bottle of this divine blood.
And so the king of vampires eventually tasted the famous blood of the Unseen Moon Inn. The taste was out of this world even for the eyes of the king. This deed was something to be praised over, so he personally went and visited the inn in question for his underlings dismay.
Once he visited the inn in question, he was surprised by the apparent ordinariness of the innkeeper. He was wearing a mask that covered most of his face and showed only his mouth. He did not need to see through his mask, for he could sense everything with his heightened senses as well as magic sense. His hair was long and bright red and he wore an elegant outfit fit for someone of his stature. He also had a figure that emanated the "Nobleman" vibe.
He asked the innkeeper "Do you hold the divine liquid?" And the innkeeper answered "Of course. For a price." The king of vampires said "Of course" and then searched his valet. But to the dismay of the king, he had forgotten to bring any coins. "Should I tell him my identity so that he will give it to me for free?" Wondered the king. "No! That would be low of me! One should never stoop so low. Especially one such as I." The king pondered.
The king of vampires had reached a conclusion, so he said "Forgive me, I forgot my money at home. I will now take my leave." The king started to walk away. But then the innkeeper said words that he didn't expect "I suppose I can trade the free night of this inn into a free bottle." The king perked up and said out loud "Really?! I… Ahem… I would appreciate it."
Jes then asked a series of questions to further understand his customer and give him blood that is most suitable for him. After the questions were over, Jes made a bottle that was a perfect fit for the man in front of him. Since there were no other people around, Jes offered to be the one that pours his customer's drink when the glass is empty until the bottle becomes empty.
Once the king took a sip of this blood, he could not hold in his excitement and rose to hug Jes, who was still holding the bottle. Scarledo then quickly sat back down as fast as he rose up from it and continued to drink.
A while passed when Scarledo drank and Jes poured more when the glass was empty. Once the bottle became empty and Scarledo became satisfied, he decided to leave. He said "Thank you for this divine liquid. Next time I come, I'll be sure to give you a proper payment." Then he gave a slight bow and started to leave. But before he could leave, Jes said to him "I'll be waiting for your next visit… Ms. Kin."
Scarledo stopped at that moment. Then he asked "I leave the fact that you know my name aside, but I have to ask you, didn't you mean to say Mr. Kin?" Jes replied with "Oh I know what I said… Ms. Kin." Scarledo then said out loud "It seems that you shouldn't be treated as an ordinary being by any means. I will let this one slide as I trust you two will keep this between us." Jes responded "Of course. Both your visit and the later fact." Scarledo said "Again, thank you." And so Scarledo left.
After he left, Iloton asked "Why did you call him miss?" To which Jes said "To make sure that he knew that I knew." Iloton thought for a while. Then she says "Oh. Iloton gets it now." Jes said "Took you a moment there. No matter, respect his wishes." To which Iloton said "Iloton shall never reveal this secret." Jes says "As you should. If you manage to anger him, he might actually kill you. And succeed." Iloton then says "Now Iloton will definitely hold this secret." Then Iloton mutters to herself "Iloton didn't know that he was that powerful. Iloton must be careful." Jes smiled and continued to wait patiently for new customers.
