Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Despite the rainfall that blanketed the city of Seoul early in the morning, Choi Irene continued her journey towards her high school, her brown and black school uniform adding a touch of sophistication to her appearance.

As she walked, she suddenly heard the call of her friends, causing her to halt in her steps and turn around to face them.

As she walked, she suddenly heard the call of her friends, causing her to halt in her steps and turn around to face them.

The sight that greeted them was none other than her beautiful face, with her medium-length black hair cascading down in a stunning frame. And to top it all off, she offered a charming smile that lit up the atmosphere and added a touch of warmth to the otherwise gloomy morning.

Choi Irene greeted her friends with a cheerful voice, despite the rain that fell heavily upon the city of Seoul that morning.

"Hey guys, what's up?" she asked, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Nothing much," replied one of her friends, "just enjoying the rain on our last year in high school."

"Yes, can you believe it?" chimed in another friend, "Our time here is almost up."

Choi Irene smiled wistfully, "I know. It feels like only yesterday we were starting our first year. Time flies by so swiftly."

"But we must make the most of it," declared the first friend, "since this is our last year together."

"Absolutely," agreed the second friend, "We must create memories that will last a lifetime. Speaking of which, have you decided what you wish to do after graduation, Choi Irene?"

"I am still contemplating," she replied, "but I am certain I wish to study abroad. And you two?"

"I wish to start my own business," answered the first friend, "but I am not quite certain what kind yet."

"I hope to study engineering," said the second friend, "just like my father. I wish to make him proud."

Choi Irene smiled warmly, "I am sure you will. We all have our dreams and aspirations, and I have no doubt we will achieve them."

"Indeed," said the first friend, "we must work hard and make the most of our last year in high school."

"Agreed," echoed the second friend, "let us make this year count and create memories we will never forget."

And with that, Choi Irene raised her hand, a smile on her lips, "Cheers to our last year in high school!"

Her friends echoed her sentiment, their voices ringing with hope and excitement for the future.

As Choi Irene walked into her new classroom, she was greeted by nearly everyone. She made her way to the front of the room and took a seat behind a boy who was covered in a school uniform jacket. Despite the barrier, his long legs were taking up a considerable amount of space.

For a moment, Irene's eyes hardened, but she quickly regained her composure and scooted her chair over as the teacher entered the room.

As the class ended, everyone gathered around Choi Irene, eager to chat with her. During the commotion, the boy who had been covered in his school uniform jacket stirred and sat up, revealing his handsome features.

He had blond hair, long eyelashes, and stature, which made every girl in the class have a crush on him.

Despite being in the same class for two years, this was the first time Irene was seeing him and he simply yawned, stretching his arms before finally glancing over at Irene and locking eyes with her. Without a word, he simply turned and exited the room.

When the teacher called Choi Irene and praised her as a smart and responsible student, appointing her as the class President once again, she accepted the position with a smile on her face; however, as she heard a chuckle behind her, she turned to look, but found no one there, so she simply bowed a little to her teacher and make her way out .

As Irene walked out of the teacher's office, her previously sweet smile fell and her true face was revealed, and she spoke aloud in a dark voice, "how annoying and pathetic that teacher is," as she thought to herself about the unpleasant encounter.

However, she quickly regained her composure and forced her sweet smile back on, as she made her way back to her classroom.

As Irene's true feelings about her teacher were revealed in a dark and somber tone, the figure lurking in the shadows silently observed her. Although Irene was unaware of his presence, he heard every word she spoke and watched as her once sweet smile faded into a scowl.

The figure remained still, relishing in Irene's emotional vulnerability, and as she made her way back to her classroom with a forced smile, he let out a haunting laugh.

It's the end of the school day and Irene's friends are excited to go to karaoke.

They approach her and invite her to come along.

"Hey Irene, are you coming to karaoke with us?" asks Eun-ji.

"I don't think I can," replies Irene. "I have to study for my exams."

"But it's the end of the school !" protests Soo-min. "You can study later. Come sing with us."

Choi Irene then pulls out her credit card from her wallet.

"Actually, you guys go ahead and have fun," she says. "I'll stay and study, but take my credit card and use it to pay for your drinks and snacks. Enjoy yourselves!"

Her friends are surprised but grateful for her generosity.

"Wow, thanks Irene!" exclaims Ji-eun. "Are you sure you don't want to come with us?"

"I'm sure," Irene says with a smile. "I'll catch up with you guys later."

After Choi Irene 's friends left, they started to badmouth her, saying that they only invited her to karaoke so she could pay for them because she was rich.

They laughed at her for thinking they were her friends.

"Ha! Did you see her give us her credit card like it was nothing?" said Eun-ji. "She's so easy to take advantage of."

"I know, right?" chimed in Soo-min. "She's always so naive. It's like she doesn't realize we only hang out with her because of her money."

Ji-eun shook her head. "I can't believe she fell for it again. She really thinks we're her friends. It's pathetic."

The group laughed and continued to make fun of Choi Irene
